Java Jukebox 1.12
Java Jukebox is a multiuser music server capable of selecting music appropriate to its current listeners. more>>
jjukebox is a multiuser music server capable of selecting music appropriate to its current listeners. Its robust enough for you to store your music (for example, the popular mp3 format) over different locations (network drives, cdroms) and not hang when any device fails.
The music server has been designed around reliability and extensibility, making it extremely reliable even when running under very dubious circumstances.
There is no limit to the amount of music other than the resources of the computer that you are running jjukebox on, or what types of music you can add to the music server, jjukebox can play many different types of music format thanks to Suns JavaMedia framework, and JavaZooms JavaLayerPlayer
Main features:
- Robust management of music mounted on other computers - if a remote computer becomes unreachable jjukebox automatically unmounts all the music stored on it without affecting play.
- Ratings system - so that people can rate tracks they like/hate and jjukebox will do its best to only play tracks people currently logged into it like.
- Programmable fading between tracks for smooth music transitions.
- Coded in pure java - can run on any platform with a conforming Java Virtual Machine
Enhancements:
Added in this release:
- A new looping queue - Plays the current queue forever.
- Faster magazine loading and saving.
- Beta GUI Client.
- Beta DAAP server.
Fixes for this releaes:
- Installer bugs from previous versions fixed - GNOME and KDE shortcuts are now correctly created.
- Play bug where player would sometimes randomly stop playing between tracks has been fixed.
- Increased playback buffer to help prevent skipping on slower machines.
- Client/Server code tidied up and fixes done mainly concerning server responses.
- Updated player jars, and a fix for 1.5 (Java 5) vm where volume setting would cause an exception when a new track was started.
- Multicast DNS fixes, this will form part of server clustering and easy server locating for the GUI client.

Globecom Jukebox 4.1
GlobeCom Jukebox is a jukebox with integrated CDDB aware ripping and groupware functionality. more>>
GlobeCom Jukebox is a jukebox with integrated CDDB aware ripping and groupware functionality. Youre probably familiar with MP3 files and perhaps already have a collection of music in MP3 format that you play on a desktop computer using Winamp, MusicMatch or similar. So why consider an MP3 jukebox ?
1. A Jukebox will place all your MP3 files in a central location. Its easier to catalog, locate and play the files from a single point of access if you use a dedicated Jukebox.
2. You can put the Jukebox in a closet and run it without a monitor. You can listen to your music even when your PC is turned off but can still control is from your PC when you want to.
3. You can have a single Jukebox serving music to the entire office or house.
4. You can put the Jukebox near the stereo and take the soundcard output direct to your high quality stereo amp.
5. The Jukebox runs on Linux. After your PC running Winamp crashes for the third time that day, you will appreciate a music system that runs for months or years without interruption.
If you would like to encode ripped CDs directly to OGG instead of MP3, Once you have the Jukebox up and running log in as an administrator.
Go to Administrate and then to Conversion Programs
1.) change the priority of wav to mp3 to -100
2.) change the priority of wav to ogg to 30

DVD BacKup Express is a small Kommander Script to create a GUI for dvdbackup.
I made it because it can be run on any platform with kommander installed and dvdbackup available (which may be more platforms than kdvdbackup or other binary frontends are available for)
There is a lot of room for improvement here. Feel free to spruce it up a bit and send me the new .kmdr file and i will update this.

MJS is a console mp3-player with some special features not found in most console based mp3-players.
About oktober 2000, at my studentsunion you could only play tapes or compact discs. The cds had often meny scratches on them and listening to them had become extermely hard. This is when I thought that maybe it was time to do something about it.
I had this old pentium-60 lying somewhere and I had some experience with diskless linux-clients. So I decided to give it a try. After equiping the Pentium with a cheapo soundcard, nic and mda and setting up linux, I came to the problem of choosing an mp3-player.
It had to be console based to keep it simple, but it being simple to use was a must. After searching a couple of days on the internet I came up with mms (Matts MP3 Selector). This software fulfilled many of our wishes but missed some. So I decided as it was GPL licensed to have a go at it.
At that time I didnt have any knowledge of C at all, so my efforts were done by trial and error. After about half a year I had a C++ programming class at the university and a few months later I had enough knowledge to begin seriously hacking the old program into something better fulfilling our wishes.
I added a search function, that uses slocate databases, playlist loading / saving, somewhat more studentproof interface, easier directory navigation, more configuration options and so on.
Enhancements:
- Added config option to remove a song from the playlist once it has been played

The Sajber Jukebox 1.10
Sajber Jukebox is a mpeg layer 3 player with a graphical user interface. more>>
The Sajber Jukebox is a mpeg layer 3 player with a graphical user interface. Its based on Woo-jae Jungs splay for the audio and has a QT based graphical library for the interface.
Main features:
- Supports mpeg layer 3. The support for mpeg layer 1 & 2 and wav files is still in there, but untested.
- Playing of the net. By using normal http addresses, ie http://whatever.host.on.the.net/~someguy/song.mp3, you can play without having to first download.
- Forward, Rewind, Pause, Seek. The Sajber Jukebox allows for moving backwards and forwards in the song [unless its streaming, then rewind wont work]. By pressing on the progression bar you can make swift jumps to any place in the song of your liking.
- Mixer control. The Sajber Jukebox comes with a mixer control that allows you to change bass, treble, volume and pcm/dsp setting at any time without having to start a second program.
- Three types of browsers:
- File Browser. A local filemanager type of browser, which allows you to click around on your local system and select songs you wish to play.
- Standard Database. A database which allows you to recursively scan the harddisk or a directory structure in search for songs. The database is sorted by group, album and songname and makes it easy to keep track of your songs, unregardless of where on the harddisk they are located. It also supports http references in addition to ordinary files.
- Http Browser. This browser allows for playing songs of the net, and scanning home pages for songs. By giving the Http Browser an URL to a page, it will retrieve it and search it through for any references to playable files.
- Selections. You can select songs from any number of browsers, and play them with repeat and random.
- Configurability. The Sajber Jukebox is easy to configure, and provides a graphical interface instead of having to figure out how various options in the obscure rc files works.
- Saving. Selections, Standard Databases, Http Browsers and configurations can be saved to disk for easy retrieval, or autoloading at startup.
- Realtime threads. If youre a daredevil who believes that everything else on your machine oughta come second to the playing of audio, you can configure your player to use realtime scheduling.
- Bookmarks. You can save and edit bookmarks to various http or local locations for swift jumps around the filesystem or the world.
- Progression bar and timer to keep track of where in the song you are.
- Easily change between different databases and browsers.
- A smaller Players window, with the basic functions which wont cover the entire screen.

jukebox-control project is a complete automation for Sony A/V components featuring S-Link (CD, DVD, MD, etc).
jukebox-control includes a Linux driver module for an easy/dirty cheap to build DIY parallel to the Sony S-Link interface, plus Perl modules with both control-A1 (II) and control-S protocol implementations.
Its actually-incomplete development state makes it interesting for developers mostly.
Enhancements:
- Bidirectional Control-A1 protocol fully supported
- Unidirectional Control-S protocol implemented, not fully supported yet.
- New object model that ties A1 and S devices together under the same base class.
- CDDB support has been removed temporarily. I am rewriting most of the modules at this time.
- No real user interface. Hey! This is a interim release.

The Polar Jukebox System (PJS) is a set of curses and console applications that allow you to manage huge amounts of MP3 files. It stores all information in a PostgreSQL database for fast and reliable acces.
The reason I started this project is that I always wanted a easy-to-use music collection, and I reached that goal with the PJS. I started programming in late 1998 and kept programming from time to time. Now I think the PJS is ready for the public, even not everything that is possible has been done - but it works!
The PJS runs under the GPL (GNU Public License) an can be installed on computers running Debian GNU/Linux, other distributions are not supported till now, and I still need help for packing the PJS to others dists.
Main features:
- Riping/encoding of audio CDs (with CDDB support) into the PJS with jrec
- Easy management of a big CD Collections with jplay
- Playlistgeneration and -management
- Automatic playlists (alltime charts, newcomers, rarely played...)
- Special play modes (random, linear...)
- Export of CDs to CD-R
- Database (postgresql) storage of the track and CD information
