Fast OnlineUpdate for SuSE is a replacement for SuSEs Yast OnlineUpdate (YOU). It uses the same update description files and is therefore a complete, lightweight alternative.

Theres this piece of music notated in tablature that youve seen in the news and you want to see how it sounds. You usually have to modify very ittle of the original file (if it was precise enough) to do that.
Play along with chord changes or a rythm section: just program the chord change / a simple drum sequence / a simple bass line and improvise.
Practise a lick: program the lick, loop it in the sequencer, start at slow tempo and speed up slowly.
Compose a song: you can, with a certain amount of work, obtain a very crude demo of a song that you can show to your friends before rehearshing.
Convert tablature to standard notation using this program plus a commercial notation program, or this mid2tex program thats supposed to hang around somewhere.

CapiSuite is an ISDN telecommunication suite providing easy to use telecommunication functions which can be controlled from Python scripts. Currently, mainly voice functions and fax sending/receiving are supported. CapiSuite is Open Source under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL).
It uses a CAPI-compatible driver for accessing the ISDN-hardware, so youll need an Eicon or AVM card with the according driver.
CapiSuite is distributed with some scripts that are providing a multi user answering machine with automatic fax recognition, remote inquiry and fax send/receive functions.

webcam snaps is a Web cam utility to take snapshots using Web cam. This program is completely written in C.

Using vfl and GTK. I hope this utility will be useful for those who wish to handle Web cam under GNU/Linux.

The program is portable. Versions of Solfege has ran on recent releases of Debian, Redhat, Mandrake, SuSE, FreeBSD 4.2, MS Windows 95/98/2000/XP and MacOSX. It should be easy to make the program run on any unix like operating system, for example Solaris or BeOS, if you have gtk+, python and pygtk installed. The old MacOS will not work because gtk+ and pygtk is not ported to that OS.
