Diamond Wiki 0.3
Diamond Wiki provides a wiki based on metadata and faceted navigation. more>>
Diamond Wiki provides a wiki based on metadata and faceted navigation.
This is an experimental wiki based on the idea of FacetedNavigation. What does that mean, you ask? At the bottom of each page you will see a list of attributes such as "Subject: Wiki" or "Author: Fred". These attributes are used to construct a dynamic directory of all the pages in DiamondWiki. To see the current directory just click on BrowseFacets.
Attributes are similar to tags, but with two key differences. First, attributes are grouped so that, for example, all the "Subject:" attributes are listed together. Second, attributes can be organized hierarchically, allowing users to drill down to see more and more detail. These differences make attributes much more scalable than simple tags. A website with 10,000 different attributes is perfectly reasonable, while a website with 10,000 different tags would be a cluttered mess.
In Diamond Wiki, anyone can change the attributes applied to a page simply by clicking the edit link at the bottom of the page.
Main features:
- BrowseFacets: this is what makes Diamond Wiki different from other wikis
- MetaData: learn how to add meta data to pages on Diamond Wiki
- SandBox: feel free to change this page and experiment with editing
- GuestBook: let me know you were here!
- WhatsNew: see how the Diamond Wiki software has been changing
- FindPage: search or browse the database in various ways

OpenWorld 1.0
OpenWorld provides an icon theme for GNOME or KDE. more>>
OpenWorld provides an icon theme for GNOME or KDE.
It aims to follow FreeDesktop icon theme spec.
This icons collection was built gradually over couple of years. Icons were made for various purposes: StarOffice presentations, illustrations, design documents, OpenSolaris.org website, my blog etc.
Most of them were drawn while waiting in public places, like airports or bus stands or at home if dial-up connection goes down to trickling bytes. It is perhaps the most complete icon theme made on Java Desktop System. I havent tested it on other Gnome or KDE desktops.
In the introduction about this collection I mentioned its design principle. It is done using SVG which is quite object oriented and one could easily reuse items from icon in another icon. Finally icons were rasterized to PNG using rsvg(1)
All icons are original and they do not intend to copy icons from any other operating system or icon theme. These are released under CDDL open source license. Feel free to copy the ideas for other icon themes!

Command line Calculator 1.01
Command Line calculator CLC is the calculator that can calculate direct at the linux console. more>>
Command Line calculator "CLC" is the calculator that can calculate direct at the Linux console.
Extract the CLCC file to /usr/bin you might need to login as root or equvalent account, to be able to access it whenever you need it.
Then just write CLCC 67+89 and the answer will be presented to you directly.
CLCC calculates from left to right with no exceptions. CLC also have some extra parameters that is sent to CLC using backslash parameters.
CLCC r2 10/3 this will round the result to 2 decimals you can use 1 to 9 if you want to round the sum of.
the r parameter can also be combined with the other parameters but it must be added first like this
CLCC r3c 10/3 - to get 10 diveded with 3 rounded down to 3 decimals.
CLCC is tested with Ubuntu 6.10 and Puppy OS 2.13 but should work with any Linux version in console mode.
The program is developed using Hotbasic for Linux and is Freeware, hope you find it useful, send and email if you have any questions.
Hotbasic is a basic language that compiles into assembler direct, no interpeter that slows down the code, just pure assembler.
So if you want assembler in Linux but doesnt want to code in nasm, HotBasic is the compiler for you.

con:cern 2.0.1
con:cern project is a workflow engine based on an extended case handling approach. more>>
con:cern project is a workflow engine based on an extended case handling approach.
A process is described as a set of activities with pre- and postconditions. An activity is executed when its preconditions are met. It manipulates the process item, thereby creating postconditions. The process flow is determined at runtime. This approach is superior to the conventional process flow approach, especially if high flexibility and modularity are required.
Main features:
- complex process with exceptions and special cases
- execution sequence is dependent on multiple factors
- possibility of manual intervention of process flow
- content-based dependence amongst activities
- strong requirements to modularity
- strong requirements to flexibility
- loose process coupling
Interestingly, processes often turn out to be more complex than initially anticipated. con:cerns flexibility allows to restrict yourself to implementing the normal process flow. Special cases and exceptions can be manually dealt with at run-time, or can be gradually retrofitted.
When you can break systems down to pre conditions, post conditions, transfer functions, and the algorithms that implement them you can go a long way towards reliable systems and specs.
Enhancements:
- bugfix escalation timeout
- bugfix reenlistment after escalation

MIDI::Opus 0.81
MIDI::Opus are functions and methods for MIDI opuses. more>>
MIDI::Opus are functions and methods for MIDI opuses.
SYNOPSIS
use MIDI; # uses MIDI::Opus et al
foreach $one (@ARGV) {
my $opus = MIDI::Opus->new({ from_file => $one, no_parse => 1 });
print "$one has ", scalar( $opus->tracks ) " tracksn";
}
exit;
MIDI::Opus provides a constructor and methods for objects representing a MIDI opus (AKA "song"). It is part of the MIDI suite.
An opus object has three attributes: a format (0 for MIDI Format 0), a tick parameter (parameter "division" in MIDI::Filespec), and a list of tracks objects that are the real content of that opus.
Be aware that options specified for the encoding or decoding of an opus may not be documented in this modules documentation, as they may be (and, in fact, generally are) options just passed down to the decoder/encoder in MIDI::Event -- so see MIDI::Event for an explanation of most of them, actually.

Movie::Info 0.1
Movie::Info is a Perl module created to get meta data from various format movie files. more>>
SYNOPSIS
my $mi = Movie::Info->new || die "Couldnt find an mplayer to usen";
foreach my $file (@ARGV) {
my %info = $mi->info($file) || warn "Couldnt read info from $filen" && next;
print "$file (WxH) - $info{width}x$info{height}n";
}
Movie::Info is a thin layer around MPlayers --identify command line flag. As such it can only give you as much information as Mplayer is able to give you which is down to the quality and number of codecs you have installed.
MPlayer is available from http://www.mplayerhq.hu/
This module is largely based on the midentify script shipped with MPlayer.
METHODS
new [path to mplayer]
Returns a new Movie::Info instance or undef if it cant find an mplayer binary.
To find a binary it looks in three places - firstly if youve passed in a path to look at it checks there, secondly at the environment variable $MOVIE_INFO_MPLAYER_PATH and then finally it searches your $PATH like the standard which command in Unix.
info < filename >
Returns a hash representing all the meta data we can garner about file.
Returns undef if it cant read the file.

Xmldoom::doc::UsingTorque 0.0.16
Xmldoom::doc::UsingTorque Perl module contains a how to about making Torque generator to work with your database.xml. more>>
Xmldoom::doc::UsingTorque Perl module contains a how to about making Torque generator to work with your database.xml.
Because the format used in the database definition (commonly named database.xml) is the same as Apache Torque, we can use their tools to automatically generate database.xml from the database, or automatically create the database from a database.xml.
Basically, the Torque Generator is a set of Ant scripts that call into the Torque engine. So, you need to install Ant as well.
SETTING UP THE TORQUE GENERATOR
First, you must download the Torque Generator from their project page:
http://db.apache.org/torque/download.html
Make sure you are downloading the Generator (the page is a little confusing). Youll see that there is a table there with versions going down the Y-axis and product names going across the X-axis. If the page hasnt since this writing, you want the top-cell over to the right one.
Once youve got it:
1. Extract the archive somewhere. Youll end up with directory named like torque-gen-3.2. Go there.
2. Edit a file named build.properties. Most of the setting dont matter for us, so you can skip down to the section labeled "DATABASE SETTINGS" (with a space between each letter). Configuring this section should be pretty self explanitory if you have ever used JDBC in Java before. In case you havent you can check out the explanation at the end of this document named "BUILD PROPERTIES".
3. You need to find and copy the JDBC drivers for your database into the lib/ directory. More on this in the "BUILD PROPERTIES" section.
Now you are ready to give it a go.
ANT TARGETS
To generate an XML schema from your database, run:
ant -f build-torque.xml jdbc
Most likely you wont want to use the generated file directly, because it lacks foreign-keys and any of the groovy Xmldoom special features. But it does provide a quick spring-board to allow to copy-paste and modify to get started quickly.
To create your database based on the XML description, run:
# to initially create the databas
ant -f build-torque.xml create-db
# will drop and re-create all tables in the database
ant -f build-torque.xml insert-sql
