drsbackup is for backing up systems, disk to disk. drsbackup project is not aimed at your cron job that does periodic backups. Instead, it is intended as a one-shot backup facility, for use when you, say, need to upgrade a system, in which case doing a -a followed by a -a -i can be very effective.

It has three primary modes of operation:

1. Back up all filesystems on the system, as determined by a df-local script that lists all local filesystems. If your df-local script doesnt work, dont blame drsbackup .
2. Back up all filesystems specified with -f.
3. Back up all files that have changed since initial install (requires stamp/check-stamp/elim-dirs, and a stamp snapshot to have been done at install time).

Largely orthogonal to the above modes of operation, there are these additional, independent modes of operation:

1. Copy all files, but split out
2. Copy only files that have changed (presumes split out copies)
3. Copy all files, but to a series of tar archives

You can also specify whether transfers should be compressed or not (only on the client side, so far, which is usually what one wants, but not always).

Run it with an argument of -h for usage.

Secure Back Door (SBD) is a tool that provides ultra-secure and minimal access to a computer, which allows you to run a single command based on a one time key. It is good if you dont want to have an SSH server running all the time, and only want to start it when needed. Because it has only a few lines of code, it is hoped that it will be less susceptible to security exploits than a program like SSH.
The protocol is detailed to an extent in the text file PROTOCOL, I will update it with more details as I have time, but the most important details are included already.
If you are a crypt analysis, or just like a challenge, I appreciate anyone who is willing to look through the protocol and/or code and point out possible security implications and flaws in design!

Disc-O-Matic is a GTK+ CD/DVD-ROM archiving tool for mastering and burning multiple discs.

Disc-O-Matic can be used in situations where you have a lot of data that you wish to burn to discs (e.g. keeping an MP3 collection synchronized with a set of CD-RWs).

X11 Disk Activity Feedback shows disk activity by animating the X11 cursor.

It provides a visual feedback of local disk activity by changing the default X11 mouse pointer to an animated wheel.

Installation:

Untar and change into the new directory and:

Cedar Backup is a Python package that supports backups of files on local and remote hosts to CD-R or CD-RW media over a secure network connection. Cedar Backup project also includes extensions that understand how to back up MySQL databases and Subversion repositories, and it can be easily extended to support other data sources, as well.
The package is focused around weekly backups to a single disc, with the expectation that the disc will be changed or overwritten at the beginning of each week. If your hardware is new enough, Cedar Backup can write multisession discs, allowing you to add to a disc in a daily fashion. Directories are backed up using tar and may be compressed using gzip or bzip2.
There are many different backup software implementations out there in the free-and open-source world. Cedar Backup aims to fill a niche: it aims to be a good fit for people who need to back up a limited amount of important data to CD-R or CD-RW on a regular basis.
Cedar Backup isnt for you if you want to back up your MP3 collection every night, or if you want to back up a few hundred machines. However, if you administer a small set machines and you want to run daily incremental backups for things like system configuration, current email, small web sites, or a CVS repository, then Cedar Backup is probably worth your time.
Cedar Backup has been developed on a Debian GNU/Linux system and is currently supported only on Debian and other Linux systems. However, since it is written in portable Python, it should in theory run without too many problems on other UNIX-like systems which have a working version of the cdrecord and mkisofs utilities.
Enhancements:

mod_loopback module serves as a web client debugging tool and simply sends back plain text output of everything received conerning a request: the request line, headers, any content received from a POST or PUT, and if installed, any data passed from mod_watch.

Configuration:

The commands below can be added to the general Apache configuration file, httpd.conf.

LoopbackLog boolean
Context: server

When true, save the contents of all requests into the log file specified by LoopbackLogFile. Default is false.

LoopbackLogFile file
Context: server

An absolute or server-root relative filename used to log loop-back requests. The default is "logs/loopback.log".

Rhino in Spring is a project that intends to integrate Mozilla Rhino JavaScript interpreter, the interpreter for the best (in our opinion) dynamic language on the Java platform with Spring Framework, the also best (again, in our opinion) enterprise framework on the Java platform.
Rhino in Springs aim is to provide a system that amalgamates the rapid development benefits and flexibility of a dynamic language with the strength, scalability and versatility of the Java platform and the Spring framework.
At the moment, the project delivers a controller component for Spring MVC that allows complex control flows spanning several webpages in web applications to be expressed as a single structured algorithm in JavaScript, putting the rich set of control flow structures and function reusability of a full-blown language at your fingertips. It transparently maps the users requests to the correct points of execution in your JavaScript code, even as the user freely navigates your website using the browsers back button or even "File-New Window" functionality!
A flexible set of state persistence options (including one where all state management is shifted to the browser, for maximum server scalability) is included.
