Contact Book is a simple contact book manager.

Simple Contact that could be compared to Mac OS Xs simply address book application. I plan on making the initial release with very basic functionality but it will certainly grow from there.

Although it is in a deb it does net check dependancies so make sure you have mono, GTK# (2.4), and sqlite installed to use it.

- Simple Address Book so you dont have to use evolution (this was my main reason for starting this project)
- Easy to use (not pop up dialog boxes)

Addresh Book is a (basic) Address Book implemented entirely in Shell Scripts. Current functionality is implemented for adding records, deleting records and searching records.

Note: This project has been largely superceeded by the ZDB project below.

Tigerbooks project is a online book exchange.

Tigerbooks is an online book exchange designed for individual universities and colleges.

Students can post books for sale or browse for books to buy. Fulltext and ISBN searches are available.

There are other book exchange systems currently available. However, TigerBooks is an open source solution.

This means that it is freely available to any University or College that wishes to use it for its own students. Furthermore, any University or College can make contributions to the TigerBooks thus distributing its maintenance costs.

Maintenance costs are particularly important in academic realms as students are only at their institutions for the duration of their program. Being an open source solution means the Universities and Colleges do not have to worry about who will be maintaining TigerBooks in the years to come.


TigerBooks is a successful open source project and will see greater success in the future as it is distributed amongst Universities and Colleges. It is successful really for two reasons.

The first being that is meets the needs of students in exchanging their textbooks. The second is that it is open source and consequently is maintained by the open source community.

dotBook reader is a reader for HTML books in .jar and .zip files.

The dotBook application will be a book reader that can download, display and cache books in a special JAR file format.

The format will allow digital signatures with PGP and allow books to have chapters and paragraphs that can be found conveniently from within the application but will link sources outside books by opening the default web browser. Book pages will be HTML pages with some restrictions.

Design Goals

The goal is to have an XML descriptor format to be stored outside the book (JAR file) and an XML content format to be stored inside the JAR file. A compound format that allows to combine descriptor, JAR file and signatures in a single file is being considered. Reading the descriptor should be very easy and not require to read the JAR file, so the JAR file will possibly be compressed and appended to the uncompressed descriptor.

The book layout will honor CSS PrintLayouts.

The XML content will allow for imprints following an independent specification for XML imprints, factored out from the esp.nongnu.org project.

The dotBook editor will allow to edit a limited subset of the MediaWiki syntax and a subset of HTML.

The format is intended to be useful on e-Paper devices that can hibernate between turning pages. A sequential page order will be encouraged, while still allowing to set anchors and links inside pages. Animated content will be discouraged: It will probably only be animated on user request. That means all animated images will be replaced by empty boxes with the text "Animation : [play]" inside, if no still image is provided to take the place.

Kavlon Coloring Book project is a classic coloring book.

It should work with little modification on any platform that supports these. This is a coloring book in the classic sense.

The user can choose from pages in the coloring book by flipping the pages. Once a picture is selected it may be colored by chosing a drawing color and clicking the region of the page that we wish to fill in.

The design has been kept simple so that the coloring book is easy to use by kids and adults alike.

Imsptool is a command line tool to communicate with an IMSP server. It allows you to create, delete, import, and export address books.
imsptool imports and exports using the LDIF format. Netscape Messenger and LDAP directory servers such as OpenLDAP use this file format directly.
IMSP is an internet protocol designed to complement IMAP. It stores additional mail user agent configuration information, including address books. IMSP is supported by very few mailers (Simeon by Esys Corp. and Mulberry are two I know of) and is considered obsolete. The ACAP protocol was designed to replace IMSP, but caught on yet.
X.500/LDAP is becoming the standard way to store large e-mail directories.
imsptool was developed to provide an easy way to use IMSP address books in Netscape Messenger. Additionally, it can be used to migrate IMSP address books to LDAP directories.
imsptool has been compiled and tested on Linux 2.2 and Solaris 2.7. It has been tested and works with the Cyrus IMSP server version 1.5a6.

Used Textbook Database provides a database for listing used textbooks.

Used Textbook Database is a Web-based textbook database that lets users to create an account and list their used textbooks or books.

It is very modular and customizable and allows for easy integration into an existing Web site.

ConTagged is a web-based address book for small companies written in PHP. It provides access to a company-wide address book, as well as private address books for each employee.
All contact details are stored in the LDAP directory and are available from all common e-mail clients.
Contacts can be grouped and looked up in infinite ways by assigning tags to them.
ConTagged integrates perfectly into an existing infrastruture by using an existing LDAP directory for authenticating the users.
