Disable - Enable Touchpad is a very very simple servicemenu to disable or enable your touchpad (e.g. if sometimes you use a USB mouse, the touchpad may become annoying).

Notice: it only works if it is a *synaptic* touchpad

There are plenty of ways to disable your touchpad, for example through the comamnds synclient TouchpadOff=1 or synclient TouchpadOff=0 which is exactly what this servicemenu does.

At reboot, this setting is reset and touchpad is enabled by default. If you want to disable it permanently, you can comment the touchpad section in /etc/X11/xorg.conf

USAGE:

1) copy the file Disable_Enable_Touchpad.desktop in the KDE servicemenus folder, that is located in /home/your_username/.kde/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus

2) just leave the file Disable_Enable_Touchpad.desktop in same folder and right click it; on "action" youll find the touchpad entry

Distrust is a Firefox extension which hides surfing trails that the browser leaves behind.
AKA Private Browsing.
Once turned on this extension monitors FireFox for its activities.
Once turned off Distrust will remove history items cache and cookies that were used during the distrust session.
Main features:
- Disable the cache. (Both regular and SSL)
- Set the cookies to live until the end of the session.

FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension) is a Firefox extension that allows you to quickly and easily backup your Firefox extensions. In fact, it goes beyond just backing up -- It will actually rebuild your extensions individually into installable .xpi files. Now you can easily synchronize your office and home browsers.

FEBE backs up your extensions, themes, and (optionally) your bookmarks, preferences, passwords, cookies and just about everything else Firefox offers (it can even backup/restore your entire profile).

Backups can be performed on demand or scheduled for daily, weekly, or monthly unattended runs.

A comprehensive debug mode allows for troubleshooting complex platforms.

dterm application is a simple terminal emulator, which doesnt actually emulate any particular terminal. Mainly, it is designed for use with xterm and friends, which already do a perfectly good emulation, and therefore dont need any special help; dterm simply provides a means by which keystrokes are forwarded to the serial line, and data forwarded from the serial line appears on the terminal.

Running dterm

dterm is invoked thusly:
dterm [options|device ...]

dterm attempts to read the file ~/.dtermrc for options; if this doesnt exist, it tries /etc/dtermrc. Then it parses the options passed on the command line.

The options read should include a device name, e.g "ttyS0" or "ttyd0" for the first serial port on a Linux or FreeBSD system respectively.

Once started, dterm can be got into command mode using Ctrl/]. Press enter once from command mode to get back into conversational mode. (The command character can be changed with the esc= option, e.g. esc=p to use Ctrl/P instead of Ctrl/].)

Options:

The following options can be used from command mode

300, 1200, 9600 etc: Set speed, default 9600.
5, 6, 7, 8: Set bits per character, default 8.
1, 2: Set number of stop bits, default 1.
e, o, n, m, s: Set parity to even, odd, none, mark or space, default none.
cts, nocts: Enable / disable CTS flow control, default nocts.
xon, noxon: Enable / disable XON/XOFF flow control, default noxon.
modem: Enable / disable modem control (hang up modem on exit, exit if modem hangs up), default nomodem.
bs, nobs: Enable / disable mapping of Delete to Backspace, default nobs.
del, nodel: Enable / disable mapping of Backspace to Delete, default nodel.
maplf, nomaplf: Enable / disable mapping of LF to CR, default nomaplf.
igncr, noigncr: Ignore / output carriage returns, default noigncr.
crlf, nocrlf: Enable / disable sending LF after each CR, default nocrlf.
b: Send a 500 ms break.
dtr, nodtr: Raise / lower DTR, default dtr.
rts, norts: Raise / lower RTS, default rts.
d, r: Toggle DTR / RTS.
esc= : Set command mode character to Ctrl/ (default ])
@ : Read and process configuration from .
! : Execute shell command
show: Display current configuration and modem status.

QSynaptics aims to help desktop users to configure their synaptics touch pad thats commonly used in laptops.
The program uses Qt 3.2, is easy to manage and performs the basic configuration steps to use your pad more efficiently. The program is based on the X11 synaptics touch pad driver.
Main features:
- pressure sensitivity: adjust how strong you have to press your pad to create events
- tapping: adjustable tapping delay and disengageable tapping
- smart tapping: switches off mouse pad for an certain delay after an keyboard event has occured
- mouse button emulation: mapping of multifinger taps to certain mouse button
- circular scrolling: enable or disable circular scrolling and adjusting the speed, configuring sensitive edges/corners

Wipe is a file and block device wiping utility. It is based on work by Peter Gutmann.
There are some low level issues that must be taken into consideration. One of these is that there must be some sort of write barrier between passes. Wipe uses fdatasync(2)
(or fsync(2)) as a write barrier, or if fsync(2) isnt available, the file is opened with the O_DSYNC or O_SYNC flag.
For wipe to be effective, each pass must be completely written. To ensure this, the drive must support some form of a write barrier, write cache flush, or write cache disabling. SCSI supports ordered command tags, has a force
media access bit for commands, and write cache can be disable on mode page 8. IDE/ATA drives support write cache flushes and write cache disabling.
Unfortunetly, not all drives actually disable write cache when yjhis is set up.Those drives are broken. Write caching should always be disabled, unless your system is battery backed and always powers down cleanly.
