Dirty Water project is a custom MUD server.
Dirty Water is an original MUD server/engine written in OCaml.
It is designed to be much more advanced and realistic and to encourage role playing more than Diku-style MUDs.
We are using a higher level language which we feel will yield a code-base that is significantly easier to modify, maintain and understand.
We felt that OCaml would make a good choice for this language, though we have since decided Scheme would be a better choice.
All of our code is licensed under the GNU GPL.

Quick and Dirty Transcoder provides a simple shell script that adds transcoding support to Amarok using gstreamer.
The only prerequisites are that you have gstreamer installed and the appropriate plugins.
Quick and Dirty Transcoder works with transcoding when copying files to a media player and also adds a context menu to allow you to transcode files in your collection. When doing the latter, the transcoded file will be written to the same directory as the original file.
You can configure dirtyxcode by creating a file in your home directory ~/.dirtyxcode.sh. The format of the configuration is a shell script that will be sourced by dirtyxcode. You can use this to control how dirtyxcode constructs the gstreamer pipeline. For example, to change the flacencoder element add the following:
flac_enc="myflacencoder myflacencopt=foo"
You can also add options to the existing encoders by setting
< format >_enc_options, for example to change the preset quality
setting for the mp3 encoder (lame), add the following to your
~/.dirtyxcode.sh file.
mp3_enc_options="preset=extreme"
The default gstreamer plugins used by Quick and Dirty Transcoder are:
- wav: wavenc
- mp3: lame
- ogg: vorbisenc
- m4a: faac
- aac: faac
- flac: flacenc

xdesktopwaves is a cellular automata which sets the background of an X11 desktop as if it were under water.

Window and mouse movements cause ripples on the desktop like ships on the sea. You can also simulate rain or a storm stirring up the water.

Quick and Dirty Sync tries to make two directories the same by comparing files sizes and copying new or changed files across in both directions, meaning you dont need to supply a "from" and "to" directory. Quick and Dirty Sync project works for local and (some) FTP directories.

Your mileage may vary, and all your files may be destroyed. You have been warned.

DIM (Dirty Instant Messenger) is an instant messenger that can be easly embedded in Web sites.
DIM uses MySQL to store accounts and messages and a modern browser to render its interface.
Installation:
1. untar dim.xy.tgz inside the root of the website where dim will be embedded
2. edit mysql.php and insert your database configuration
3. create a mysql database according to mysql.php
4. create the tree tables needed by dim using dim_mysql_tables.sql
5. embed dim in your website with: < iframe width=200 height=350 src="dim/index.php" frameborder=0 name=dim id=dim marginheight=0 marginwidth=0 >
6. adjust dim colors and fonts by editing config.php and default.css

QDGDF stands for Quick and Dirty Game Development Framework, and its a set of libraries designed to allow fast development of games under a variety of systems. Quick and Dirty Game Development Frameworks main goal is to show a platform-independent, consistent interface to UNIX/Linux and MS Windows.

- DJGPP.
- Linux SVGALIB.
Supported audio systems:
- Linux OSS.
- MS Windows DirectX (DirectSound).
- ESD (Enlightened Sound Daemon).
Enhancements:
- This release includes the following new functions: qdgdfv_load_pcx_pal(), which loads a 256 color PCX file and rearranges it to match the current palette; qdgdfv_load_pcx_pal_set(), which loads a 256 color PCX file and sets its palette as the active one; qdgdfv_home_dir() and qdgdfa_home_dir(), which return a path where a game can create a directory or write data; and qdgdfv_app_dir() and qdgdfa_app_dir(), which return a path where a game can look for its application data.

Deep-Water Linux is a half minimalist software distribution using the linux kernel released under the terms of the gnu gpl license v2.

Originaly i designed it for myself to make my work a bit easyer - it was a few years ago when there were not so many live distributions that fit my needs - i needed something more than "minimal" but not something that would need more than 2-3 minutes to load requireing hardware, that i couldnt afford.

So i designed a small system for myself that i could use whenever i broke my "harddisk" distro so much, that it was impossible to repair the system from inside of it. I started using the system as a sort of a rescue system and i installed it on my computer as a sort of a neighbour to other systems that i have used.

Then i thought other people might find it interesting, if not as a whole, than atleast a part of it, or maybe they might like to use it for some "rescue job". I was messing arround with xlib and tcl/tk, so i added some programs to ease a users life - like a panel, icons, file-manager. You see, i thought it is stupid to just copy someones work and then re-distribute it in my name - i hate the kind of distros where the "developers" just change the background of some well known distro and then give it a new name.

In my distro you wont find so many tools, it evean might not work good, it evean can make you angry "make you laugh, or cry", but atleast i can say, that many things in this system is my work - i programmed deep-panel/ deep-view/ deep-icons/ made a new hackedbox"a hack of blackbox"/designed the startup and many other things.

There are 2 version-types of the distro - the first copying the whole system in the memmory and the second copying only a part of itself - the first is for people with older hardware with little memmory and the second for boxes with memmory atleast 128MB. I know that there are many systems out there that are better and im not saying that its good to use this distro on an everyday basis, but if you find some inspiration in it, or if you use it as a rescue system, or want to use deep-view to browse/edit some files or to display image galleries and your "real" system is broke, if you find any use of it than im happy enough.

Warsow is a standalone first person shooter for Windows and Linux.
It offers eSport oriented FPS, fast-paced gameplay focused on trix (trick jumps) and the art of move. It offers a complete Power-up System including Weak and Strong fire mode for each weapon.
The graphics are in a cartoonish style with celshading-like_but_not_Manga style, mixing dark, flashy and dirty textures, matching the action full of fun and speed. The game got some of its inspiration from titles like Quakeworld, Quake3 CPMA, Jet Set Radio or Speedball.
