AFROS Live CD
AFROS Live CD is a bootable CD with a small collection of GNU/Linux software, ARAnyM and the AFROS. more>>
AFROS Live CD is a bootable CD with a small collection of GNU/Linux software, ARAnyM and the AFROS. AFROS Live CD boots and runs completely from CD, does not write anything to the harddrive and so is safe to try out. It is meant as a demo version of ARAnyM/AFROS. It is not the dreamed Installation CD of ARAnyM yet (although it could be modified to work so).
The underlying Linux kernel and related software provide the CD autoboot, automatic hardware detection, and support for many graphics cards, sound cards, SCSI and USB devices and other peripherals. ARAnyM plus AFROS provide our familiar and favourite TOS/FreeMiNT/GEM operating environment. Its all integrated seamlessly and after PowerOn boots straight to the Teradesk (GEM desktop).
AFROS Live CD is distributed in the form of a CD ISO image which is the usual way of distributing CDs electronically. The ISO image file can be burnt on a CD-R/RW and so youll get an exact copy of the AFROS Live CD I created on my machine.
AFROS Live CD configuration:
fVDI resolution and/or color depth change: open up the C:FVDI.SYS (double click it and select Edit), locate the "01r aranym.sys mode 800x600x16@72" line, comment it out and uncomment one of the other prepared lines (or just make up your own). Then reboot the AFROS.
The ARAnyM Config GUI is unfinished yet so changes to ARAnyM config must be done outside of ARAnyM in the .aranym/config file. When you quit ARAnyM you should be able to edit the file with one of the supplied GNU/Linux editors (in the future this shouldnt be necessary as I am working on the Config GUI as you read this).
DSL site (AFROS Live CD is based on the DSL) might give you some hints about preserving the changes youve made to the AFROS disk image or ARAnyM configuration (you might also want to read File Restoration -> HowTo in the X11 desktop). Note that this is untested by me and might be dangerous. Try it on your own risk only.

RoFreeSBIE Live CD 1.2p1
RoFreeSBIE Live CD is a LiveCD based on FreeBSD 6.1 operating system. more>>
RoFreeSBIE Live CD is a LiveCD based on FreeBSD 6.1 operating system made in Romania.
Main features:
NEW FREEBSD PORTBROWSER
Includes Portbrowser, an efficient package manager with a simple way to install applications (more than 14500 FreeBSD applications from ports or binary packages).
SCRIPTS
Find under the RofreeSbie Tools a wide-range of powerful scripts. From Internet and antivirus configurations to all partitions detection, this is a must-have tool for average BSD users.
TEST YOUR HARDWARE
Testing your hardware compatibility with FreeBSD 6.1 before installing couldnt be easier with a Live CD/DVD like RoFreeSBIE.
SECURITY
High level of security thanks to UNIX solid as a rock, Clamav antivirus, F-Prot antivirus and a firewall. Feel safe with RoFreeSBIE.
Let others commercial operating systems lose your root password in 20 minutes or a kid at home install a trojan in your computer.
INTELLIGENT UPDATES
Because RoFreeSBIE is FreeBSD based, it uses intelligent ways of updating: cvsup and recompiling the base system or binary patches.
If you use cvsup, you can track daily changes on the FreeBSD base system and easily obtain a new FreeBSD release when it appears.
LINUX SUPPORT
RoFreeSBIE runs Linux applications with high performance and speed. Why should you have to choose between BSD and Linux, when you can get the best of both?
CLONE PARTITIONS
With clone.sh youll be able to make a compressed image of a chosen partition from your HDD and store it on another writable partition.
ROFREESBIE MEANS...
Romanian Free System Burned In Economy, its main version being English. KDE support is available in:
Romanian, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, Russian and German. More languages will be included soon due to your help. Thanks.
NOTE: The first CD is for installation only and the second CD is for upgrading your installation made with CD 1 which will result in an installation just as the one from the DVD version.
The CD version was made by splitting the DVD version content so the people that dont own a DVD-ROM can install this operating system.
You can get the complete version of this operating system on a DVD version
Enhancements:
- Minor bugs corrected

CentOS 5.0 Live CD
CentOS is an Enterprise-class Linux Distribution. more>>
CentOS is an Enterprise-class Linux Distribution derived from sources freely provided to the public by a prominent North American Enterprise Linux vendor.
CentOS conforms fully with the upstream vendors redistribution policy and aims to be 100% binary compatible. (CentOS mainly changes packages to remove upstream vendor branding and artwork.) CentOS is free, however, we ask for a small contribution. CentOS is a project of the cAos Foundation.
CentOS is developed by a small but growing team of core developers. In turn the core developers are supported by an active user community including system administrators, network administrators, enterprise users, managers, core Linux contributors and Linux enthusiasts from around the world.
CentOS has numerous advantages over some of the other clone projects including: an active and growing user community, quickly rebuilt, tested, and QAed errata packages, an extensive mirror network, developers who are contactable and responsive, multiple free support avenues including IRC Chat, Mailing Lists, Forums, a dynamic FAQ. Commercial support is offered via a number of vendors.
CentOS exists to provide a free enterprise class computing platform to anyone who wishes to use it. CentOS 2 and 3 are fully compatible rebuilds of RHEL 2 and 3 respectively. CentOS 2 and 3 are reproduced from RHEL sources that are freely distributed by RedHat.
Redistributed packages and sources comply fully with RedHats redistribution requirements. CentOS 2 and 3 are designed for people who need an enterprise class OS without the cost, support, certification, or brand name of RedHat.
Main features:
- easy maintenance
- suitability for long term use in production environments
- friendly environment for users and package maintainers
- long-term support of the core
- active development
- community infrastructure
- open management
- open business model
- commercial support - offered by a partner vendor
Enhancements:

Incognito Live CD/USB i686
Incognito Live CD/USB CD provides software to use various Internet technologies while keeping the user anonymous. more>>
Incognito Live CD/USB CD provides software to use various Internet technologies while keeping the user anonymous. The project is based primarily on Tor while including supporting applications. The target use case is that of using a public computer, such as in a library, securely.
This CD may also be copied to a USB drive to provide persisted user settings. The intended user base are those who would like to perform standard Internet communications such as WWW, mail, IRC, IM, etc, while being confident that their anonymity is not compromised. Power users who want precise control over the application and network configuration may be disappointed.
There are full and tiny versions of the CD. The tiny version is intended to fit on small media and basically provides an anonymous web browser. The full version supports a variety of Internet applications.
The Gentoo Catalyst release build tool is used to build the CD. This tool is designed to make the CD easy to maintain. For an update of only Tor it takes a simple version bump and 30 minutes for the tiny CD, two hours for the full version. Human effort is minimal, Catalyst does most of the work. A full update of all software takes several hours to compile, but this is seldom done or needed and again generally requires little human effort. Adding or removing software to/from the CD is also generally trivial.
The following applications are kept up to date as soon as possible. Others may be updated sooner if a major security problem occurs (Firefox, etc.)
*Tor
*TorK
*Vidalia
*Privoxy
*Mixminion
Remaining applications, including the base system, will be updated on a roughly two month schedule.
