Dvzeec 0.2.1
DVZEEC aims to have a suite of scripts and GUI for capturing, converting and burning DV movies to CD. more>>
DVZEEC is a project of a tools suite driven by a Graphical User Interface (GUI). The goal is to have at the end a simple interface to create a CD for personnal movies. Those movies came from a digital video camera.
I see 5 parts for the tools:
1) Grab the DV movies on files
2) Generate subtitles automatically (title + date and hour)
3) Conversion process (for the moment only the xvid/mp3 format are supported)
4) Verification of the ouputs (before burning it could be useful)
5) Cd burning (and go on the DVD/Divx player ! )
The tools used by this project are (for each previous points):
1) dvgrab : www.kinodv.org
2) Written/developed by me (perl language)
3) transcode
4) Written/developed by me (Basic language)
5) Linux commands (mkisoft)
Enhancements:
- 13/09/08 Corrected problem for long filenames for DIVX player
- 10/09/05 Corrected bug in SRT hour generation (H:M replaced by h:m)
- 07/09/05 Corrected mplayer process stop
- 07/09/05 Corrected crash (stack overflow) while converting to xvid
- 06/09/05 Corrected bug while grabing from camera
- 06/09/05 Added information during SRT generation
- 06/09/05 Corrected crash if no XVID file present while trying to play video

DROID 1.1
DROID is a Digital Record Object Identification. more>>
DROID is a Digital Record Object Identification. Is developed by The National Archives to perform automated batch identification of file formats. Developed by its Digital Preservation Department as part of its broader digital preservation activities, DROID is designed to meet the fundamental requirement of any digital repository to be able to identify the precise format of all stored digital objects, and to link that identification to a central registry of technical information about that format and its dependencies.
DROID uses internal and external signatures to identify and report the specific file format versions of digital files. These signatures are stored in an XML signature file, generated from information recorded in the PRONOM technical registry. New and updated signatures are regularly added to PRONOM, and DROID can be configured to automatically download updated signature files from the PRONOM website via web services.
DROID is a platform-independent Java application, and includes a documented, public API, for ease of integration with other systems. It can be invoked from two interfaces:
- A Java Swing GUI
- A command line interface
DROID allows files and folders to be selected from a file system for identification. This file list can be saved at any point. DROID can also be used to identify URIs and streams (command line interface only). After the identification process had been run, the results can be output in XML, CSV or printer-friendly formats.

OpenSSH 5.1
OpenSSH is a FREE version of the SSH connectivity tools more>> OpenSSH is a FREE version of the SSH connectivity tools that technical users of the Internet rely on. Users of telnet, rlogin, and ftp may not realize that their password is transmitted across the Internet unencrypted, but it is. OpenSSH encrypts all traffic (including passwords) to effectively eliminate eavesdropping, connection hijacking, and other attacks. Additionally, OpenSSH provides secure tunneling capabilities and several authentication methods, and supports all SSH protocol versions.
The OpenSSH suite replaces rlogin and telnet with the ssh program, rcp with scp, and ftp with sftp. Also included is sshd (the server side of the package), and the other utilities like ssh-add, ssh-agent, ssh-keysign, ssh-keyscan, ssh-keygen and sftp-server.
features:
Open Source Project
Free Licensing
Strong Encryption (3DES, Blowfish, AES, Arcfour)
X11 Forwarding (encrypt X Window System traffic)
Port Forwarding (encrypted channels for legacy protocols)
Strong Authentication (Public Key, One-Time Password and Kerberos Authentication)
Agent Forwarding (Single-Sign-On)
Interoperability (Compliance with SSH 1.3, 1.5, and 2.0 protocol Standards)
SFTP client and server support in both SSH1 and SSH2 protocols.
Kerberos and AFS Ticket Passing
Data Compression
OpenSSH is developed by the OpenBSD Project. The software is developed in countries that permit cryptography export and is freely useable and re-useable by everyone under a BSD license. However, development has costs, so if you find OpenSSH useful (particularly if you use it in a commercial system that is distributed) please consider donating to help fund the project.
OpenSSH is developed by two teams. One team does strictly OpenBSD-based development, aiming to produce code that is as clean, simple, and secure as possible. We believe that simplicity without the portability "goop" allows for better code quality control and easier review. The other team then takes the clean version and mak<<less

Greensocs 2007.03-1 (GSPM)
Greensocs is a development kit for producing systems on a chip using SystemC. more>>
Greensocs project is a development kit for producing systems on a chip using SystemC (a C++ derivative) as opposed to Verilog or VHDL.
GreenSocs mission is to encourage SystemC to be used by designers. It will do this by engineering SystemC infrastructure to compliment the capabilities developed by OSCI and commercial EDA providers, promoting and utilising academic research. The aim is to extend the use and applicability of SystemC, by co-ordinating and promoting collaboratively developed models, methods and utilities, prioritised by designers needs.
The principle benefits are:
- To lower infrastructure development, training and adoption costs.
- To enable higher degrees of IP reuse and interchange.
- To enable EDA companies to build tools in support of the standards.
GreenSocs runs a SourceForge project called the GreenSocs project. Its aims are to develop SystemC infrastructure, basic IP, patches and add on library code for eventual standardisation. The GreenSocs project is made up of a number of contributions (sub projects).
In order to facilitate the use of SystemC and the infrastructure, patches and extensions that GreenSocs develops, pre-built binary packages including all of the stable GreenSocs patches and basic building blocks are available from the downloads area.
Enhancements:
- Assorted minor updates and bugfixes.

vat 4.0b2
Vat is an audio conferencing application. more>>
Vat is an audio conferencing application developed by the Network Research Group of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Source code and pre-compiled binaries are available via anonymous ftp.
The LBNL audio tool, vat, is a real-time, multi-party, multimedia application for audio conferencing over the Internet. Vat is based on the Draft Internet Standard Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) developed by the IETF Audio/Video Transport working group. RTP is an application-level protocol implemented entirely within vat -- you need no special system enhancements to run RTP. Although vat can be run point-to-point using standard unicast IP addresses, it is primarily intended as a multiparty conferencing application. To make use of the conferencing capabilities, your system must support IP Multicast, and ideally, your network should be connected to the IP Multicast Backbone (MBone).
Vat provides only the audio part of a multimedia conference; video, whiteboard, and session control tools are implemented in separate applications. Our video tool is called vic and our whiteboard tool wb, UCL developed the session directory tool sdr Other related applications include ISIs Multimedia Conference Control, mmcc, the Xerox PARC Network Video tool, nv and the INRIA Video-conferencing System, ivs.
Enhancements:
- Added code to Windows audio driver to convert to 8-bit linear if driver doesnt support 16-bit linear (the code in Win95 thats supposed to do this is apparently broken). Problem reported by dozens of SoundBlaster users.
- Unicast sessions wouldnt work under Windows. (Re-)Incoporated fix from John Brezak that somehow got left out of b1 release.
- Restored vat 3.4 "[net localport]" command (needed by ISI/MIT RSVP additions to vat). Requested by Steve Berson.
- Fixed sitebox display bug on monochrome displays. Reported by Evi Nemeth.
- Fixed bug where SS-10 could get stuck sending a continuous tone if the last byte before a completely silent frame was non-zero. Reported by Steve Deering.
- Correct URL of SCO port on vat homepage. Fix from Shawn McMurdo.
- Incorporated Irix5.3 and 6.x configure and config.h fixes from Andrew Cherenson.
- Incorporated AIX configure and config.h fixes from Christian Zahl.
