x-Desktop 1.5
x-Desktop is a development of browser-only application frontends. more>>
This project comprises a library for developing thin client application frontends using a browser. It helps developers creating (neat) application interfaces (GUI) for inter/intra- and extranet applications.
Main features:
- 100% Browser based & no plugins required
- Supports all Operating Systems providing a DOM2 / Javascript Support Browser
- Simple, well documented Object Interface
- Customizable desktop & window skins
Following Browsers are currently supported:
- Mozilla 1.2+
- Firefox
- K-Meleon 0.7+
- Netscape 7.0+
- Avant 7.0+
- Microsoft IE6.0+
- Galeon 1.2+
- OSX: Camino 0.7+
A note to Konqueror / Safari users: We do respect the work of the Open Source community, especially the K-Teams. However we did not have the time to dig too much into why Konqueror does not work as the others. But because Mozilla 1.x does work and comes with most Linux boxes, we focused on development of the supported browsers, rather than finding the key issues of this problem.
A note to Opera fans: Unfortunately the css and javascript support of all current versions does not allow many operations we do need (like dynamic clipping etc.) We did hope that the upcoming Opera 7.x version can be included as well. But so it is not the case.
Despite the success of NS 4.x it is clearly in excess of age. Therefore we are sorry to inform that NS 4.x or any prior versions of above mentioned browser cannot be used. In addition, the javascript engine of NS7.x seems to be very slow when moving or resizing desktop windows.

Logical Desktop
Logical Desktop is a desktop environment for GNU/Linux that is different. more>>
Logical Desktop is a desktop environment. A "desktop environment" is a program that allows you to do many different things with your computer, but in a consistent way. Desktop environments can be seen as a "dogma" of how things should be done, and how they should look and feel.
Examples of desktop environments are KDE, Gnome, the Windows interface, etc.
In Logical Desktop, like in all desktop environments, you work by composing actions made of one verb and one or more objects (e.g. "Print" is the verb, and the objects are the printer, the files to print, and the program used for printing).
Logical Desktop is how you specify those things: 1) in any order 2) with automatic hiding of the things that dont make sense.
1. In any order: Logical Desktop enables you to specify your action with many possible styles of interaction (file-oriented, task-oriented, program-oriented, device-oriented). Logical Desktop can do that because it treats verbs and objects with complete symmetry and uniformity: you can select both verbs and objects, and in any order.
2. With automatic hiding: Logical Desktop is more intelligent than traditional systems because it hides the unnecessary things while you are composing the action. More precisely, Logical Desktop hides those verbs/files/devices/programs that make no sense with the current selection.
Combining this with the previous point (that you can select anything in any order), we obtain a very powerful mechanism: if you select a verb first, the objects that dont make sense with it are hidden; if you select an object first, the verbs that dont make sense with it are hidden.

Zero Memory Widget 0.2.0
Zero Memory Widget is a widget library without a single bit of storage per widget. more>>
Widget libraries have now been developed and used for years. In all these libraries, widget instances require computer memory. But this memory is not really required, We have implemented a widget library to prove that it is possible to use zero bytes of memory per widget.
In such a library, there is no widget reference, so widget programming is easier even in a low level language such as C. Programs are more robust because they do not use pointers, make no memory management and do not translate data between application and widget.
To set the attributes of a widget, it is not possible to use the widgets pointer so a current state is used as in OpenGL. Most classic widgets were integrated into the library, and it is possible to integrate widgets of all kinds without any problem.
This library license is the GNU GPL. Beware: it is alpha software. It works but the API is not yet stable.
Main features:
Base widgets:
- text, text_editable, int, int_editable,
- anchor,
- button, tearoff, button_with_accelerator,
- image, image_from_file,
- scrollbar2, scrollbar_vertical, scrollbar_horizontal,
- toggle (bit or int or char) with or without label. Same for radio button. Really easy to use.
Container widgets:
- window, window_drag, window_popup_right, window_popup_bottom
- anchor_box,
- box_horizontal, box_vertical, box,
- decorator,
- notebook,
- scrolledview (can contains billions of children)
- viewport
- table, table_with_width,
- void, if, popup : base system to make transient widgets. The menu are constructed with "popup"
Composite widgets:
- alert (container),
- message (container),
- filechooser,
Widget attributes:
- Choice of the focus group.
- Width: padding, border, focus
- Expand: vertical, horizontal
- Alignment: vertical, horizontal
- Font: family, size, weight, style
- Geometry: x, y, width, height
- Window auto resize
- Sensibility (to overide the value computed automaticaly)
- Debug level
Other features:
- a drag and drop working only inside the application.
- fully working text cut and paste (UTF8 or not).
- simple animation possible.
- the library runs a web server allowing to debug.
- accelerators. If a modifier key is pressed, a list of short-cut with this key is displayed in a bubble tip.
Enhancements:
- Complete rewrite of the kernel API, in order to have :
- The library can now be updated without recompiling external code

Q Desktop Services 0.4.4
QDS is a library for Qt developers which provides cross-platform access to additional features of the various desktop APIs. more>>
The QDS library allows Qt applications to access features provided in common desktop APIs in a portable way, without requiring dependencies on any desktop platform library.
This is especially useful for applications targeting the Unix desktops, because Qt/X11 is very generic and only provides features it can implement on all sub platforms. All library code is licenced under 2-clause BSD licence.
Service implementations are loaded from plugins which link to the respective desktop libraries. The plugin to use can be specified on the applications commandline, in the QDS configuration file or QDS can try to autodetect the currently running platform.
Enhancements:
- Autodetection to use GNOME plugin in case GNOME_DESKTOP_SESSION_ID is set
- Replaced the primitive example application with a simple but network aware text editor application
- Support for wildcards in mailcap entries
