Quill UI Designer 0.1-alpha1

Quill is a visual Web interface designer based on QuiX, Porcupines integrated XML User interface Language. more>>
Quill is a visual Web interface designer based on QuiX, Porcupines integrated XML User interface Language.

It took us quite longer than we expected but here it is. Quill is a visual web interface designer based on QuiX, Porcupines integrated XML User-Interface Language. We believe this is a major leap for the web interface design process, as it has become almost identical to this of a common desktop application.

This is an alpha release and as such there are a lot of missing features, but generally you can get things done a lot faster and easier than before. This release supports almost every QuiX widget, giving you full control over it, exhibiting all of its editable properties.

IceWM Theme Designer 3.2

IceWM Theme Designer 3.2

The IceWM Control Panel (IceWMCP) IcePref2 Theme Designer tool allows you to easily create and modify themes for IceWM. more>>
The IceWM Control Panel (IceWMCP) IcePref2 Theme Designer tool allows you to easily create and modify themes for IceWM.
IceWM Control Panel (IceWMCP) is the first full-featured, Gtk-based control panel for IceWM. It is meant to run in IceWM, but can be used in ANY window manager as a general-purpose control panel.
IceWMCP is multi-lingual. Currently, the following languages are supported: English, Spanish, Russian, Traditional Chinese, French (partial), and Finnish (IceWMCP-IceMe only).
Developers: If you would like to use IceWMCP as the foundation for a new control panel (for a new window manager, etc.), see the developers release of IceWMCP. IceWMCP was inspired by the Qt-based application called IceCC, but includes many more tools, a more familiar Windoze Control Panel-like interface, and uses the MUCH faster Gtk user interface (Who runs a fast Window Manager like IceWM, to launch SLOW-running, memory-intensive Qt/KDE-based applications?? I sure dont).
Lets face it: IceWM and fast Gtk interfaces work well together. In addition, because IceWM Control Panel is written with a TRUE open source widget set, Gtk+, you dont have to worry about the licensing problems associated with proprietary QT-based applications. IceWM Control Panel is TRUE open source, through and through.
Version restrictions:
- Access to a Bash shell (very important)
- Python (2.2 or better), PyGtk-2 (1.9.9/2.0.0 or better)
- Gtk+ 2.0.6 or better - neither Gnome nor PyGnome is required
- (IceWMCP versions 2.5 and earlier require Gtk+1 and PyGtk-1 0.6.9)
- Your version of PyGtk should have the Gdk-Pixbuf modules on your system
- Please run ALL IceWMCP programs from a BASH shell: Using other shells such as ksh, pdksh, csh, tcsh, etc. is likely to cause problems.
- If your IceWMCP programs have trouble launching other applications, it is most likely because you are using something other than a Bash (/bin/bash) shell.
- Run the programs from Bash...period!

NERD 5.01 Beta

NERD 5.01 Beta

NERD (Network Equipment & Resources Database) is a flexible database of miscelanous network resources. more>>
NERD (Network Equipment & Resources Database) is a flexible database of miscelanous network resources. The main idea is to centralize most of management data in one place. This database can be a source for other management systems, but the original data is always stored in one place.
NERD was initialy created around 2001. It went through many stages. The scope was changed few times. Finaly, I decided to put all versions with all functionalities together and create single system covering all areas. The final goal for this application is to be a warehouse for devices, locations, contracts, autentication, IP management, MPLS, VLAN and maybe some more interesting modules.
NERD is not a management system. It is network-management-aiding-framework. You can not collect traps, view events, or manage trouble tickets. There are many systems around nowadays, providing such functionality. NERD is not intended to replace them. NERD is a centralized network data source.
The application currently helps to manage CISCO devices, however it was desiged to support other vendors, too.
Main features:
- Its FREE!!!
- Based on Model-View-Controller framework
- Written in PHP5 (OOP)
- Based on MySQL (other dabatases can be used)
- Modular and flexible structure
- PHPTAL used as a templating system
- Secure authentication using encrypted passwords with random salts
- Encrypted passwords stored in database
- Safe SQL queries
- Extendable modules
- Password recovery via email
- Locations management (cities, POPs)
- Device management (models, devices, roles)
- Network devices access management (with embeded TACACS+ daemon)
- Automatic, periodic CISCO config backup
Enhancements:
- minor change (design, error in text, etc)
- major change (new feature, bug in the code, etc)
- security fix

StreamCruncher 2.1 RC

StreamCruncher 2.1 RC

StreamCruncher is an Event Processor. more>>
StreamCruncher is an Event Processor. The project supports a language based on SQL which allows you to define Event Processing constructs like Sliding Windows, Time Based Windows, Partitions and Aggregates.
Queries can be written using this language, which are used to monitor streams of incoming Events. StreamCruncher is a multi-threaded Kernel that runs on Java.
Ever since RFID became commercially viable and companies started packaging their entire product line as Business Activity Monitoring Stacks, an old idea that has been around for almost a decade is now seeing the light of day. A handful of Startups have begun turning this Idea of Complex Event Processing (CEP) and Event Stream Processing (ESP) into Commercial grade software. Several people have contributed ideas to this field. The most frequently mentioned name would be Prof. Luckhams. Prof. Widoms contribution to the field is also noteworthy.
Those in a hurry can skip to this section.
Now, back to CEP and ESP. An over-simplified definition would probably look like this - Assume that a System produces "Events" that describe the state of that System at those instants. Slicing and Dicing the "live" Stream of Events (in near real-time) can reveal vital information. Since this information is available on the live data and not stale data, it can be used to look for Warning signs, implement JIT materials sourcing, Automated Trading and other highly nimble systems.
Events from multiple sources can be co-related to reveal information about their interactions and dependencies. CEP and ESP are not exactly the same, but well leave that to the Scholarly Papers to disambiguate. All this does not seem new at all to people whove been working on Control Systems. Data Warehouse specialists and Rule Engine experts might start mumbling something about "Old Wine..".
However, only lately are we seeing generic, off-the-shelf Software focusing on CEP and ESP. Each one of those Products or Projects distinguish themselves in Performance (Real-time, Soft Real-time), Ease of Integration (Features, Mild to Steep Learning Curves, Manageability), Speciality (Automated Trading Platforms) or General purpose stacks etc. Or, perhaps all of them, to varying degrees.
For a Program to continually Slice and Dice an Event Stream and thereby, discern/infer something useful about the state of the System before it goes stale, requires a variety of Technologies to converge. Weve been using SQL to handle Transactional Data stored in Databases, Data Warehouses to analyse Terrabytes of Offline data, Rule Engines to infer from a large collection of constantly changing Facts.
ESP and CEP Systems provide building blocks using which Users can build an intelligent System, with active feedback. All CEP and ESP Systems provide a mechanism by which Queries/Conditions/Criteria can be provided that are constantly evaluated against the Event Stream. Some systems provide drag-n-drop GUIs to specify such "Queries", while some have their own proprietary Query syntax. In essence, they provide a Domain Specific Language to encode such Queries/Rules, a facility to pump Events into the System and a way to channel the Output Stream to do something useful.
Enhancements:
- The pre-filter for input event streams now supports , !=, =, *, /, +, -, "in (..)", "not in (..)", "and", and "or".
- The "in" clause can refer to an SQL sub-query.
- Such sub-queries are cached by the kernel to improve performance.
- An additional property, cacherefresh.threads.num, can be configured to specify the number of sub-query cache processing threads to use.
- Two new test cases have been added to test the new features: H2StartupShutdown3Test and ThreeEventOrderTest.

Domino Javadoc Generator 0.4

Domino Javadoc Generator 0.4

Domino Javadoc Generator project aims to create a documentation to the Lotus Notes API for Java. more>>
Domino Javadoc Generator project aims to create a documentation to the Lotus Notes API for Java in a standard format common in the Java comunity and accepted by the most IDEs for Java.

The Lotus Notes API is delivered as a Java archive together with the original documentation in the native format of a Domino database with the IBM Domino Designer. The documentation can be read only in the Lotus Notes. Java-oriented tools cannot use it to display a description of a Java class, to browse classes and their methods or to offer an automatic code insertion based on a Java object and its class.

The goal is to create a Javadoc documentation together with a pseudo-source code of the Lotus Notes API. The documentation can be viewed, indexed and integrated to IDEs. The pseudo-source code can be integrated to IDEs to support object browsing and automatic source code insertion.
