SINGULAR 3.0.2

SINGULAR 3.0.2

SINGULAR is a computer algebra system for polynomial computations. more>>
SINGULAR is a computer algebra system for polynomial computations in commutative algebra, algebraic geometry, and singularity theory.
Its main computational objects are ideals and modules over a large variety of baserings. The baserings are polynomial rings over a field (eg. finite fields, the rationals, floats, algebraic extensions, transcendental extensions), or localizations thereof, or quotient rings with respect to an ideal.
It features fast and general implementations for computing Groebner and standard bases, including Buchbergers algorithm and Moras Tangent Cone algorithm. Its interactive shell and C-like programming language can be extended by libraries written in the SINGULAR programming language.
Main features:
- Main computational objects: ideals/modules over very general polynomial rings over various ground fields.
- Large variety of algorithms implemented in kernel (written in C/C++).
- Many more algorithms implemented as SINGULAR libraries.
- Intuitive, C-like programming language.
- Extensive documentation: Manual (info, ps, and html), Publications.
- Available for most hard- and software platforms: Unix (HP-UX, SunOS, Solaris, Linux, AIX), Windows, Macintosh.
Enhancements:
- This version is mainly a bugfix release, but it also contains some new features.

Geometry Description Markup Language 2.9.0

Geometry Description Markup Language 2.9.0

Geometry Description Markup Language workpackage is primarly ment to provide geometry data exchange format for the LCG apps. more>>
Geometry Description Markup Language (GDML) workpackage is primarly ment to provide geometry data exchange format for the LCG applications. The workpackage consists of the GDML Schema part, which is a fully self-consistent definition of the GDML syntax and the GDML I/O part which provides means for writing out and reading in GDML files.
The GDML Schema does not depend in any way on the GDML I/O packages. In particular, new extensions to the GDML I/O packages can be implemented (interfaces to new application, like for instance visualisation, editors, etc), while the GDML Schema definition remains unchanged.
Enhancements:
- The loop machinery was improved so that any volume can be used in a loop.
- An installation script was added along with support for auxiliary volume information.
- A SimpleExtension example that shows how to extend GDML with custom elements was added.
- The obsolete PyGDML package was removed.

SJPT: Simple Java Parsing Toolkit

SJPT: Simple Java Parsing Toolkit

SJPT: Simple Java Parsing Toolkit is a simple Java parser toolkit. more>>
SJPT is parsing toolkit that supports both top-down (LL(1) and Simple Precedence) and bottom-up parsing (LR(0), SLR(1), LR(1) and LALR(1)).

The toolkit also supports generating Java parsers for all the bottom-up parsing methods, based on a CUP definition (similar to Yacc and CUP, but not restricted to LALR parsers only). I worked alone on this project for the laboratory on Compilers.

SJPT is free software under the terms of the GNU GPL.

Sin/Cos calculator

Sin/Cos calculator

Sin/Cos calculator is a mathematical comand-line calculator. more>>
Sin/Cos calculator is a mathematical comand-line calculator.

I was chatting to this guy on IRC who was moaning about his homework. trying to write a program to do this in bash. I said youd be much better off doing it in C, and wrote this. Gave it to him the next day after theyd finished the chapter.

As it does both, theres two executables, it builds main() depending on preprocessor definition... more in the source file.

Compile with:

gcc -lm sin_rule.c -ansi -pedantic -DSINE_RULE -o sin-rule
./sin-rule

PloneGlossary 1.3.3

PloneGlossary 1.3.3

PloneGlossary is a project made for showing links to defined words when they appear in the site text. more>>
PloneGlossary is a project made for showing links to defined words when they appear in the site text.
PloneGlossary is a Plone content type that allows you to manage your own glossaries, propose definitions and search in one or more glossaries. Any word defined is instantly highlighted in the content of your site.
Once a glossary is created, you can add your definitions to it. Definitions are a simple content type. Enter the word you want to define as the title, and the definition of the word in the text body. You can also specify variants of the word. For example if you define the word yoghurt, you may also want to allow the variants yogurt or yoghourt to be valid. Definitions will be highlighted (like an acronym) when they appear elsewhere in your site. (Also see the ploneglossary configlet.)
Once you have a large number of definitions in your glossary, you can browse the glossary by the means of an alphabetic index, or perform a search in the glossary. Each glossary has an integrated search engine, which is simply a ZCatalog.
Main features:
- Glossary portlet: If switched on, a portlet listing all definitions found in the currently shown content.
- Highlight content: if this option is chosen, all defined words are hightlighted in the chosen content types (see further).
- Description length : Choose the maximum length of the given definition in the highlights.
- Description ellipsis: Choose an ellipsis. It is used in the highlight when the defined term exceeds the description length.
- Not highlighted tags: Define the html tags in which definitions should not be highlighted. Default: h1, a, input, textarea
- Allowed portal types: Select the portal types for which defined words are highlighted.
- General glossaries: Select glossaries used to check related terms of content.

Curses::Application 0.2

Curses::Application 0.2

Curses::Application provides the Curses Application Framework. more>>
Curses::Application provides the Curses Application Framework.

Curses::Application attempts to relieve the programmer of having to deal directly with Curses at all. Based upon Curses::Widgets and Curses::Forms, all one should have to do is define the application forms and contents in the DATA block of a script. Curses::Application will take care of the rest.

This module follows many of the conventions established by the Curses::Widgets and Curses::Forms modules, being built upon that framework. One area of special note, however, is the declaration of forms used within the application.

Curses::Application differentiates between forms and form definitions. A form is an instance of any particular form definition. Keeping that line of separation simplifies the development of MDI (Multiple Document Interface) applications.
Form definitions can be provided in two ways: as a list of definitions in the main::DATA block, or individually by using the addFormDef method. The former would normally be the simplest way to do so.

At the end of your script, declare a DATA block using Perls __DATA__ token. In that DATA block place a hash declaration (%forms) which contains a key/value pair for each form definition. The key being the name of the definition, and the value being a hash reference to the form declarations (see the Curses::Forms pod for directives available to that module). The only extra key that should be in each forms hash reference should be a TYPE directive, which would point to a module name relative to the base Curses::Forms class. If you omit this key, then it will be assumed that the form is a Curses::Forms object, or some custom derivative as specified in ALTPATH.

Data::ICal::Entry::TimeZone 0.12

Data::ICal::Entry::TimeZone 0.12

Data::ICal::Entry::TimeZone is a Perl module to represents a time zone definition in an iCalendar file. more>>
Data::ICal::Entry::TimeZone is a Perl module to represents a time zone definition in an iCalendar file.

SYNOPSIS

my $vtimezone = Data::ICal::Entry::TimeZone->new();
$vtimezone->add_properties(
tzid => "US-Eastern",
tzurl => "http://zones.stds_r_us.net/tz/US-Eastern"
);

$vtimezone->add_entry($daylight); # daylight/ standard not yet implemented
$vtimezone->add_entry($standard); # :-(

$calendar->add_entry($vtimezone);

A Data::ICal::Entry::TimeZone object represents the declaration of a time zone in an iCalendar file. (Note that the iCalendar RFC refers to entries as "components".) It is a subclass of Data::ICal::Entry and accepts all of its methods.

This module is not yet useful, because every time zone declaration needs to contain at least one STANDARD or DAYLIGHT component, and these have not yet been implemented.

Directory Synchronize 0.91

Directory Synchronize 0.91

Directory Synchronize is the small handy utility you always missed! more>>
Directory Synchronize is the small handy utility you always missed! Directory Synchronize is small, reliable, and fast. And best of all - it is Open Source; released under the GPL you are free to use and distribute it.
Directory Synchronize synchronizes the contents of one directory to another. That means you can use it to backup your data on a regular basis to another computer or another harddrive.
Or you can use Directory Synchronize to synchronize the data on your laptop with the data on your desktop.
Programmed in real platform independent Java you can use Directory Synchronize on nearly every computer platform including Windows, Linux and Macintosh.
Use the Directory Synchronize GUI for starting, pausing and stopping a synchronization.
Or use the GUI to easily create and store a configuration and use the command line to automatically start it every time you boot up your computer.
Enhancements:
- Some bugs have been solved.
- If a file can not be accessed, only a warning is issued instead of issuing a critical error and halting synchronization.
- If you select a directory instead of a file as a log for a directory definition, a line-separator was added instead of a file-separator.
- Some NullPointerExceptions in console mode have been fixed.
- The " " wildcard can be used for the path of the global log, and the " " wildcard can be used for the name of the current directory definition in the directory definition log filename.
