Spring Rich Client 0.2.1

Spring Rich Client 0.2.1

Spring-RCPs mission is to provide an elegant way to build highly-configurable, GUI-standards-following rich-client applications more>>
Spring-RCPs mission is to provide an elegant way to build highly-configurable, GUI-standards-following rich-client applications faster by leveraging the Spring Framework, and a rich library of UI factories and support classes.
The Spring Rich Client Project (RCP) is a sub-project of The Spring Framework. Spring-RCPs mission is to provide an elegant way to build highly-configurable, GUI-standards-following rich-client applications faster by leveraging the Spring Framework, and a rich library of UI factories and support classes. Initial focus is on providing support for Swing applications but a goal of Spring-RCP is to be view agnostic as much as possible.
Spring Rich Client Projects goal is to provide a viable option for developers that need a platform and a best-practices guide for constructing Swing applications quickly.
Specifically, spring-richclient seeks to:
Provide a way to build structured, highly-configurable, GUI-standards-following Swing applications faster by leveraging the Spring Framework.
Foster integration with existing rich-client-related projects where it make sense. For example, jgoodies-forms and TableLayout are two good layout managers. We dont need to develop another one.
Adhere to the principles set forth by the Spring Framework--programming to interfaces; the importance of sound OO design, documentation, and testing.
Main features:
- A command framework that provides centralized configuration of Swing actions and appropriate handler registration based on the current active view. Command configuration, as well as action bar contribution policies (to menus or toolbars), can be defined centrally and externalized in Spring bean defintiions.
- A forms data binding and validation framework, for connecting edits made in your UI controls with your domain model automatically--with as you type feedback.
- Support for multiple window management, page configuration, and view management. The concepts here are inspired by Eclipses perspective/view constructs. Views can be defined in the Spring container, associated with one or more pages, and a default page can be configured to be loaded at startup.
- Common support classes addressing various rich client requirements including: well formed dialogs, wizards, input validation (typing hints and validation results reporting), button bars,internationalization, image/icon caching, progress monitoring, UI threading (classes cleanly promoting responsive UIs), treetable/property sheet, table sorting/high-volume table updates, GUI standards builders/helpers, help/about, etc.
Spring-rich adds value for people needing to develop Swing applications and do so in a way that promotes consistent, well-designed, configurable Swing applications. The spring-rich developers strongly feel the old days of Swing apps not looking native and not being performant or web-accessible are gone with JDK1.4.2 and 1.5 and webstart.
It is our belief the only problem with Swing is that there are a limited number of higher-level abstractions available that assist in making the toolkit simpler and easier to use, and a limited number of design best practices. The goal of spring-richclient is to provide that.
Enhancements:
- [RCP-400] - jgoodies forms not included as spring-rich dependencies
- Regression bug: icons on MessageAreaPane didnt show up

Mondo Rescue 2.2.4

Mondo Rescue 2.2.4

Mondo it backs up your GNU/Linux server or workstation to tape, CD-R, CD-RW, NFS or hard disk partition. more>>
Mondo it backs up your GNU/Linux server or workstation to tape, CD-R, CD-RW, NFS or hard disk partition. In the event of catastrophic data loss, you will be able to restore all of your data [or as much as you want], from bare metal if necessary.

Mondo is in use by Lockheed-Martin, Nortel Networks, Siemens, HP (US and France), IBM, NASAs JPL, the US Dept of Agriculture, dozens of smaller companies, and tens of thousands of users.

Mondo is comprehensive. Mondo supports LVM, RAID, ext2, ext3, JFS, XFS, ReiserFS, VFAT, and can support additional filesystems easily: just e-mail the mailing list with your request. It supports adjustments in disk geometry, including migration from non-RAID to RAID. Mondo runs on all major Linux distributions and is getting better all the time. You may even use it to backup non-Linux partitions, such as NTFS.

Mondo is free! It has been published under the GPL (GNU Public License), partly to expose it to thousands of potential beta-testers but mostly as a contribution to the Linux community. I charge for 1-to-1 technical support to fund Mondos development.

GIMP arrow and cursor brushes 1.0

GIMP arrow and cursor brushes 1.0

GIMP arrow and cursor brushes project consists of 17 sets of arrows and three cursors (a total of 72 brushes) to put in your GIMP brushes folder.

Arrow brushes is my small payback for using the great GIMP program.

I had a hard time (actually impossible) finding any arrow brushes for the GIMP.
But .gbr files are easy to make, so I spent two days of my life making these arrows
(and a few "cursors") as my modest contribution.

Use them for anything youd like. If you redistribute them, please include this file.

I post these, and perhaps make updates, at gimphelp.org. All the items will also be included (in png format) at wpclipart.com, the Public Domain clipart site.

GD::Graph::Thermometer 0.05

GD::Graph::Thermometer 0.05

GD::Graph::Thermometer is a Perl module to generate progress graph on the fly. more>>
GD::Graph::Thermometer is a Perl module to generate progress graph on the fly.

SYNOPSIS

use GD::Graph::Thermometer;
my $result = GD::Graph::Thermometer->new({
image_path => /path/to/image.png,
type => png,
goal => 80000,
current => 20000,
title => Funding the League for the Year ($),
width => 100,
height => 200,
transparent => 1,
background_color => [ r, g, b ],
text_color => [ r, g, b ],
outline_color => [ r, g, b ],
mercury_color => [ r, g, b ]
});

When deployed in production, the current value ought to be dynamically calculated based on a query of the database tracking contributions or volunteers or whatever the goal represented by the graph represents.

my $result = GD::Graph::Thermometer->new({});

This module exports only one method, its constructor, ->new(), which creates a .png (by default) image file of the thermometer graph with the path and name defined in its constructor. If no image_path is defined in the constructor, then the module will print the image directly to STDOUT.

The anonymous hash fed to the constructor must define values for the keys: goal and current. Otherwise a fatal error will be thrown. Current should represent the progress made toward the goal being graphed since the beginning of the campaign.

The output format defaults to png if the key type is undefined, otherwise a user may specify png, gif or jpeg as the output format. These correspond to the GD::Image-> methods by the same name, which are used to implement the ->_render_image() internal method.

The size parameters will default to 100 pixels wide by 200 pixels tall, if those arguments are missing from the anonymous hash given to the constructor. If title is not defined a warning will be thrown, but the graph will still be generated.

The colors for the background, text, outline and mercury will default to white, black, black and red respectively, if not otherwise defined in the constructor. If defined in the constructor, they should be defined as an anonymous array of three values ( => [ r, g, b ],), range 0 - 255, suitable for feeding to the GD::Image->colorAllocate() method. If the transparent key is set to 1, any area of the image set to either the default or a custom background color will render as transparent for inclusion on a web page.

List::MoreUtils 0.22

List::MoreUtils 0.22

List::MoreUtils is a Perl module that can provide the stuff missing in List::Util. more>>
List::MoreUtils is a Perl module that can provide the stuff missing in List::Util.

SYNOPSIS

use List::MoreUtils qw(any all none notall true false firstidx first_index
lastidx last_index insert_after insert_after_string
apply after after_incl before before_incl indexes
firstval first_value lastval last_value each_array
each_arrayref pairwise natatime mesh zip uniq minmax);

List::MoreUtils provides some trivial but commonly needed functionality on lists which is not going to go into List::Util.

All of the below functions are implementable in only a couple of lines of Perl code. Using the functions from this module however should give slightly better performance as everything is implemented in C. The pure-Perl implementation of these functions only serves as a fallback in case the C portions of this module couldnt be compiled on this machine.

any BLOCK LIST

Returns a true value if any item in LIST meets the criterion given through BLOCK. Sets $_ for each item in LIST in turn:

print "At least one value undefined"
if any { !defined($_) } @list;

Returns false otherwise, or undef if LIST is empty.

all BLOCK LIST

Returns a true value if all items in LIST meet the criterion given through BLOCK. Sets $_ for each item in LIST in turn:

print "All items defined"
if all { defined($_) } @list;

Returns false otherwise, or undef if LIST is empty.

none BLOCK LIST

Logically the negation of any. Returns a true value if no item in LIST meets the criterion given through BLOCK. Sets $_ for each item in LIST in turn:

print "No value defined"
if none { defined($_) } @list;

Returns false otherwise, or undef if LIST is empty.

notall BLOCK LIST

Logically the negation of all. Returns a true value if not all items in LIST meet the criterion given through BLOCK. Sets $_ for each item in LIST in turn:

print "Not all values defined"
if notall { defined($_) } @list;

Returns false otherwise, or undef if LIST is empty.

true BLOCK LIST

Counts the number of elements in LIST for which the criterion in BLOCK is true. Sets $_ for each item in LIST in turn:

printf "%i item(s) are defined", true { defined($_) } @list;

false BLOCK LIST

Counts the number of elements in LIST for which the criterion in BLOCK is false. Sets $_ for each item in LIST in turn:

printf "%i item(s) are not defined", false { defined($_) } @list;

firstidx BLOCK LIST

first_index BLOCK LIST

Returns the index of the first element in LIST for which the criterion in BLOCK is true. Sets $_ for each item in LIST in turn:

my @list = (1, 4, 3, 2, 4, 6);
printf "item with index %i in list is 4", firstidx { $_ == 4 } @list;
__END__
item with index 1 in list is 4

Returns -1 if no such item could be found.

first_index is an alias for firstidx.

Fast Genetic Algorithm 1.3.4

Fast Genetic Algorithm 1.3.4

Fast Genetic Algorithm is a simple yet powerful implementation of a general genetic algorithm. more>>
Fast Genetic Algorithm is a simple yet powerful implementation of a general genetic algorithm, and provides many types of crossover and selection procedures.
It is suitable to solve mathematical problems such as combinatorical optimization ones, as well as to build artificial life simulations.
Written in C++, the library is released under the terms of the GNU Lesser General Public License, and its easy to incorporate in other applications.
Further improvements include parallelization of the algorithm in multi-processor environments and general performance optimizations.
You can download the current development snapshot, which is a working but not fully tested version of the library.
Enhancements:
- Dynamic arrays were fixed to compile even on non-C99 compilers (like MSVC).
- A switch to choose whether to preserve the fittest individual across generations was added.
- The pthreads-win32 library was included in the package, as well as Visual C++ and Dev-C++ projects to easily build the source code on Windows.
- A function that computes the standard deviation of fitness values was added (thanks to Jonas Neubert for the contribution).
