Guifications is a Gaim plugin that displays msn style "toaster" popups in a user defined corner of the screen.

Guifications is highly configurable, and easy to use. There are a ton of preferences, that may be daunting at first, but are pretty straight forward.

Define Word is an extension which allows you to look up definition of selected text.

Look up definition of selected text using any of several search engines. The list of engines is configurable.

CSS::SAC::ConditionFactory Perl module contains the default ConditionFactory.

This is the default ConditionFactory for CSS::SAC. It creates conditions of all types defined in SAC. You may wish to subclass or replace the default ConditionFactory in order to get your own condition objects.

I plan on adding more flexibility to this factory so that one could tell it the classes to use for various conditions, that would avoid enforcing subclassing/recoding for people that only want to replace a family of factory methods.

I know that some of the method names are quite lengthy, but given the great number of possible conditions it helps to have descriptive names.

METHODS

These define the interface that must be adhered to by ConditionFactories. The Java names (given in parens) work too, though the Perl ones are recommended.

Genezzo::Plan::MakeAlgebra is a Perl module that can convert a SQL parse tree to relational algebra.

This module converts a SQL parse tree into a set of relational algebra operations.

IDNA stands for "Internationalized Domain Names in Applications". Although theres various extensions for PHP, most of the providers do not offer these for use.
Thats why we programmed an implementation written in PHP completely.
PHP Net_IDNA class is also available as a PEAR package.
This class is our contribution to the Open Source Community and thats why it is licvenced under the LGPL (GNU Lesser General Public Licnece), i.e. it can be used in non-comercial and commercial projects.
To use Net_IDNA in your own appications, you just need to include() or require() the source and instantiate the class with $idn = new Net_IDNA().
The object offers two methods - encode() for converting an UTF-8 string to Punycode format and decode() for the opposite direction.
Enhancements:
- The class has been patched to better cope with strange URLs passed to it.

Speech::Recognizer::ViaVoice contains Perl wrappers for IBMs ViaVoice speech Recognizer library.

This module provides very basic use of IBMs ViaVoice library (http://www-4.ibm.com/software/speech/enterprise/te_3.html) in perl. It allows its user to pass a list of speech commands for recognition in a perl list, connect to the engine, and request recognized spoken words. The most notable feature missing from the current version is the ability to select different ViaVoice users. I plan to add this functionality shortly, but for now you must use the default user.
Consult the ViaVoice documentation for ViaVoice setup. Most will probably just need to run vvstartuserguru, which requires a java runtime environment. Results will be better if you take the time to do a little training to your own voice in this utility.

You can use this perl module for reconition of words from IBMs vocab dictionary for your chosen locale without further preparation. To recognize words not available in the dictionary or to recognize phrases, you need to create a file with phonetic spellings for use by the provided script pronunciations.pl (installed in /usr/local/bin by default). This utility reads a text file whose name is supplied as its sole argument. The file should contain lines with two fields separated by a tab character:

The text on the left is the word or phrase to be recognized, and the text on the right is a phonetic spelling of the format specified in the ViaVoice docs (section 3 of /usr/doc/ViaVoice/bpreadme.txt in my installation). As in the example, a word or phrase might have more than one common pronunciation. You can provide all of them, one on each line.

pronunciations.pl will most likely require super user privileges to write its output to files in the ViaVoice lib directory:
