MLDBM 2.01
MLDBM is a Perl module to store multi-level hash structure in single level tied hash. more>>
MLDBM is a Perl module to store multi-level hash structure in single level tied hash.
SYNOPSIS
use MLDBM; # this gets the default, SDBM
#use MLDBM qw(DB_File FreezeThaw); # use FreezeThaw for serializing
#use MLDBM qw(DB_File Storable); # use Storable for serializing
$dbm = tie %o, MLDBM [..other DBM args..] or die $!;
This module can serve as a transparent interface to any TIEHASH package that is required to store arbitrary perl data, including nested references. Thus, this module can be used for storing references and other arbitrary data within DBM databases.
It works by serializing the references in the hash into a single string. In the underlying TIEHASH package (usually a DBM database), it is this string that gets stored. When the value is fetched again, the string is deserialized to reconstruct the data structure into memory.
For historical and practical reasons, it requires the Data::Dumper package, available at any CPAN site. Data::Dumper gives you really nice-looking dumps of your data structures, in case you wish to look at them on the screen, and it was the only serializing engine before version 2.00. However, as of version 2.00, you can use any of Data::Dumper, FreezeThaw or Storable to perform the underlying serialization, as hinted at by the SYNOPSIS overview above. Using Storable is usually much faster than the other methods.

AnyDBM 1.0.1
AnyDBM is a generic interface to DBM-like databases for Haskell. more>>
AnyDBM is a generic interface to DBM-like databases for Haskell. It lets you store String-to-String mappings in various formats, from a simple in-memory Map to a high-performance DBM database or even a SQL database.
The project is written by John Goerzen and was initially part of MissingH. It is licensed under the LGPL.
Known Drivers:
- MapDBM, built-in, RAM-only, uses a Haskell Map as a background
- StringDBM, built-in, RAM with disk backing
- HDBC-AnyDBM, which uses simple SQL tables in any HDBC-supported database
- MissingPy, which lets you use any Python anydbm backend with Haskell AnyDBM

DBM::Deep 0.983
DBM::Deep is a pure perl multi-level hash/array DBM. more>>
DBM::Deep is a pure perl multi-level hash/array DBM.
SYNOPSIS
use DBM::Deep;
my $db = DBM::Deep->new( "foo.db" );
$db->{key} = value; # tie() style
print $db->{key};
$db->put(key => value); # OO style
print $db->get(key);
# true multi-level support
$db->{my_complex} = [
hello, { perl => rules },
42, 99,
];
A unique flat-file database module, written in pure perl. True multi-level hash/array support (unlike MLDBM, which is faked), hybrid OO / tie() interface, cross-platform FTPable files, and quite fast. Can handle millions of keys and unlimited hash levels without significant slow-down. Written from the ground-up in pure perl -- this is NOT a wrapper around a C-based DBM. Out-of-the-box compatibility with Unix, Mac OS X and Windows.

Ruby-UDBM 0.7
Ruby-UDBM is a Ruby binding for the UPPAAL DBM library. more>>
The Ruby DBM library has now a binding to the popular Ruby language. The binding offers several modules as different layers on top of the DBM library, depending on what the user wants to do. The different modules are:
- udbm: This is the core binding that provides the classes Constraint to define constraints 3) or (a.x > 4) | (a.y > 5), compute intersections, relations, unions, whatever you can do on federations, but with sets instead. It is another view of federations.
Enhancements:
- The graphical viewer can now display points together with federations.
- This release has been rebuilt against the DBM library version 2.0.5.

UPPAAL DBM Library 2.0.5
Difference Bound Matrices (DBMs) are efficient data structures to represent clock constraints in timed automata. more>>
Difference Bound Matrices (DBMs) are efficient data structures to represent clock constraints in timed automata.
They are used in UPPAAL as the core data structure to represent time. This library features all the common operations such as up (delay, or future), down (past), general updates, different extrapolation functions, etc. on DBMs and federations.
The library also supports subtractions and methods to merge DBMs.
Enhancements:
- Bugs have been fixed in getValuation and mergeReduce, and doxygen comments have been corrected.
- New methods have been added to the API: Hooks to mingraph_t, hasZero to test if DBMs (or federations) contain the zero point, delay for points, and toString.
- The structure partition_t has been drastically improved.
- The operations subtractions, intersections, and "mergeReduce" have been substantially improved.
- There is a new print format of DBMs and federations to be more compatible with the Ruby binding.
- index_t has been renamed to cindex_t due to a conflict on Solaris.

mod_auth_cookie_dbm 1.0.2
mod_auth_cookie_dbm is a session authentication/expiration using (cryptographically strong) cookies. more>>
mod_auth_cookie_dbm is a session authentication/expiration using (cryptographically strong) cookies. Cookie-to-username mapping with DBM database.
It was devised as a better replacement for the "Basic" authentication components that ship with Apache.
Classic "Basic" authentication has some downsides:
- Username and password are shipped across the net with every request.
- There is no concept of a "session" (nor encores, such as timeouts and automatic logout)
This module
1. checks requests for a cookie, named in the CookieDBMAuthCookieName configuration directive.
2. If found, the cookie value is looked up in a DBM database, named in the CookieDBMAuthFile directive.
If the lookup fails, a redirect is made to a page specified in the CookieDBMAuthFailureURL directive.
3. The DBM entry is expected to contain a username and optionally an expiry time. Fields are colon-separated, the expiry time is a spelled-out integer (the field gets passed to strtol()) representing the time_t
If valid, the username is taped onto the request, thus "emulating" Basic authentication.
If expired, redirect to the CookieDBMAuthFailureURL.
The CookieDBMAuthFailureURL typically points at a "login page" CGI script. This program, after checking the users credentials, should make up a cookie value (preferably a long, cryptographically strong random string), enter it in the dbm file, and pass it to the browser. It might also update an AuthUserFile or AuthDBMUserFile database on the fly.
Acknowledgements:
This module was written from scratch, with some inspiration from the mod_auth_cookie_mysql and mod_auth_cookie_pgsql2 modules.

Apache2::AuthenDBMCache 0.01
Apache2::AuthenDBMCache is a Perl module for authentication caching. more>>
Apache2::AuthenDBMCache is a Perl module for authentication caching.
SYNOPSIS
# In your httpd.conf
PerlModule Apache2::AuthenDBMCache
# In httpd.conf or .htaccess:
AuthName Name
AuthType Basic
PerlAuthenHandler Apache2::AuthenDBMCache
# Typical constraints one of these
require valid-user
require user larry moe curly
require group stooges
# Optional parameters/Defaults are listed to the right.
PerlSetVar AuthenDBMCache_File /file-path # Default: /var/cache/authen-web
PerlSetVar AuthenDBMCache_TTL 900 # Default: 3600 sec
PerlSetVar AuthenDBMCache_Debug On # Default: Off
Apache2::AuthenDBMCache implements a caching mechanism in order to speed up authentication and to reduce the usage of system resources. It must be used in conjunction with a regular mod_perl2 authentication module (we use it to accelerate AuthenURL and AuthenMSAD methods but it can be used with any perl authentication module).
When a authorization request is received this handler uses a DBM data base cache to answer the request. Each entry in the cache is indexed by a key which is a hash of user name, the authentication "realm", the authentication parameters and the password. The value at the key is an expiration date. If the supplied user name and password hash to a key which exists and has not expired then the handler returns OK and clears the downstream Authen handlers from the stack. Otherwise, it returns DECLINED and allows the next PerlAuthenHandler in the stack to be called.
After the primary authentication handler completes with an OK, AuthenDBMCache adds the new hash to the cache with an appropriate expiration date.

QDBM: Quick DataBase Manager 1.8.75
QDBM is a library of routines for managing a database. more>>
QDBM is a library of routines for managing a database. The QDBM database is a simple data file containing records, each is a pair of a key and a value.
Every key and value is serial bytes with variable length. Both binary data and character string can be used as a key and a value. There is neither concept of data tables nor data types. Records are organized in hash table or B+ tree.
As for database of hash table, each key must be unique within a database, so it is impossible to store two or more records with a key overlaps. The following access methods are provided to the database: storing a record with a key and a value, deleting a record by a key, retrieving a record by a key.
Moreover, traversal access to every key are provided, although the order is arbitrary. These access methods are similar to ones of DBM (or its followers: NDBM and GDBM) library defined in the UNIX standard. QDBM is an alternative for DBM because of its higher performance.
As for database of B+ tree, records whose keys are duplicated can be stored. Access methods of storing, deleting, and retrieving are provided as with the database of hash table. Records are stored in order by a comparing function assigned by a user. It is possible to access each record with the cursor in ascending or descending order.
According to this mechanism, forward matching search for strings and range search for integers are realized. Moreover, transaction is available in database of B+ tree.
QDBM is written in C, and provided as APIs of C, C++, Java, Perl, and Ruby.
QDBM is available on platforms which have API conforming to POSIX.
Enhancements:
- The utility API was enhanced.
- A bug related to B+ tree API for Ruby was fixed.

Radiuslib 0.5
Radiuslib provides a complete RADIUS protocol and utility library for Ruby. more>>
Radiuslib provides a complete RADIUS protocol and utility library for Ruby.
Radiuslib is a complete RADIUS protocol and utility library for the Ruby programming language. It includes a very featureful, RFC- compliant protocol implementation, as well as parser classes for RADIUS dictionaries, Cistron-format "users" files, and standard "detail" accounting logs.
Main features:
- Full VSA support, even those quirky USR VSAs. All of the complexity of VSA handling is below the surface; you treat them like any other attribute, and Radiuslib handles the more complex packing and unpacking these attributes require.
- The authentication classes support both PAP and CHAP. It has been a frequent annoyance to me that more libraries (esp. Perls) dont support CHAP. Radiuslib handles both authentication methods seamlessly.
- Encodes and decodes filters in the Ascend binary filter format (abinary).
- Idiomatic, Ruby-ish API. I tried to implement lots of useful iterators, and most classes that represent indexable data can be accessed as youd expect, with the familiar Hash-like [] and []= methods.
- The "Request" classes include client-side networking, with configurable timeout & retransmission.
- A complete, RFC-compliant implementation of the protocol, appropriate for client or server use. Both authentication and accounting are supported.
- A higher-level RADIUS request handler, encapsulating an entire RADIUS authentication or accounting transaction.
- A dictionary parser supporting almost all available formats in use today.
- A read/write parser for Cistron-format "users" files, commonly used to store user authentication information.
- A read/write parser for Cistron-format "users" files in DBM format (TBA).
- A parser for RADIUS accounting "detail" files. This is another standard file format used by RADIUS servers to log accounting data.

OVERVIEW
Data::CTable is a comprehensive utility for reading, writing, manipulating, cleaning and otherwise transforming tabular data. The distribution includes several illustrative subclasses and utility scripts.
A Columnar Table represents a table as a hash of data columns, making it easy to do data cleanup, formatting, searching, calculations, joins, or other complex operations.
The objects hash keys are the field names and the hash values hold the data columns (as array references).
Tables also store a "selection" -- a list of selected / sorted record numbers, and a "field list" -- an ordered list of all or some fields to be operated on. Select() and sort() methods manipulate the selection list. Later, you can optionally rewrite the table in memory or on disk to reflect changes in the selection list or field list.
Data::CTable reads and writes any tabular text file format including Merge, CSV, Tab-delimited, and variants. It transparently detects, reads, and preserves Unix, Mac, and/or DOS line endings and tab or comma field delimiters -- regardless of the runtime platform.
In addition to reading data files, CTable is a good way to gather, store, and operate on tabular data in memory, and to export data to delimited text files to be read by other programs or interactive productivity applications.
To achieve extremely fast data loading, CTable caches data file contents using the Storable module. This can be helpful in CGI environments or when operating on very large data files. CTable can read an entire cached table of about 120 megabytes into memory in about 10 seconds on an average mid-range computer.
For simple data-driven applications needing to store and quickly retrieve simple tabular data sets, CTable provides a credible alternative to DBM files or SQL.
For data hygiene applications, CTable forms the foundation for writing utility scripts or compilers to transfer data from external sources, such as FileMaker, Excel, Access, personal organizers, etc. into compiled or validated formats -- or even as a gateway to loading data into SQL databases or other destinations. You can easily write short, repeatable scripts in Perl to do reporting, error checking, analysis, or validation that would be hard to duplicate in less-flexible application environments.
The data representation is simple and open so you can directly access the data in the object if you feel like it -- or you can use accessors to request "clean" structures containing only the data or copies of it. Or you can build your own columns in memory and then when youre ready, turn them into a table object using the very flexible new() method.
The highly factored interface and implementation allow fine-grained subclassing so you can easily create useful lightweight subclasses. Several subclasses are included with the distribution.
Most defaults and parameters can be customized by subclassing, overridden at the instance level (avoiding the need to subclass too often), and further overridden via optional named-parameter arguments to most major method calls.

XML::DB::DatabaseManager 0.02
XML::DB::DatabaseManager is an approximation to the XML:DB DatabaseManager. more>>
XML::DB::DatabaseManager is an approximation to the XML:DB DatabaseManager.
SYNOPSIS
use XML::DB::DatabaseManager;
my $driver = Xindice; my $url = http://localhost:4080;
eval{ $dbm = new XML::DB::DatabaseManager(); $dbm->registerDatabase($driver); $col = $dbm->getCollection("xmldb:$driver:$url/db/test"); ...... };
if ($@){ die $@; }
deregisterDatabase($driver);
This is the initial class to use to get access to the XML:DB modules, an approximate implementation of the XML:DB API defined for Java at http://www.xmldb.org. This implementation is designed to give a uniform Perl access over XML-RPC to both of the current free native XML databases, eXist and Xindice, as well as providing the same front-end for a plain file-system.
Unlike the DatabaseManager defined in the XML:DB API (which is a Factory), this simply registers driver names, generating a new Database instance for each request. Multiple database drivers can be used simultaneously (eg. to transfer data from one database to another). The drivers themselves are rather confusingly called Databases in this system.
Only one DatabaseManager can be instantiated in a program.
