Quarters Board Game 4.0
Quarters Board Game is a strategy game for two players. more>>
Quarters Board Game project is a strategy game for two players.
Although its rules are relatively simple, it still offers some of the same opportunities for skill as in chess.
This program was originally conceived in the summer of 1986 during a study of the mini-max algorithm for chess playing computers, and was thus designed to offer some of the same type of strategies.
The game was originally written in BASIC, then ported to Turbo Pascal, then to C, and finally to Java.
The Java version is not necessarily object oriented, since it is a crude port from the C version.

Psunami Bulletin Board 0.5.3
Psunami Bulletin Board is an Open Source alternative to the popular Ultimate Bulletin Board software. more>>
Psunami Bulletin Board is an Open Source alternative to the popular Ultimate Bulletin Board software, and aims for speed, ease of use, and a full feature set.
For installation, do the following:
1)Recursively copy everything from ./cgi-bin/ into your servers cgi-bin/ directory.
2)Recursively chown (chown -R) the psunami/ directory to the user that your web server uses (www-data on Debian, nobody on Slack, httpd on RHat-based systems (Ive been told that it is nobody on someRHat systems), wwwrun on SuSE. Anyone know what it is for others?) If you are unable to chown (eg. you are not the superuser) then make sure it is all readable/writable by the user (777 works, but is probably much too generous). Also do this to the psunami.conf file in cgi-bin.
3)Make psunami.cgi, psunami_admin.cgi, and psunami_moderate.cgi executable by the user that your web server uses. (chmod u+x *.cgi)
4)Change the paths to your perl executable if necessary. The paths are at the top of psunami.cgi, psunami_moderate.pl, and psunami_admin.cgi and default to /usr/bin/perl. Type which perl at a command prompt if you dont know where the executable is.
5)Run psunami_admin.cgi and create a new board. The initial login is psunami and the password is bulletin (no quotes).
6)Make sure that your mail program is configured properly in the preferences. It defaults to /usr/bin/sendmail.
7)Once you have created an account for yourself and given it admin rights, make sure you delete the psunami user.

BBCode::Parser 0.34
BBCode::Parser is a Perl module that parses BBCode tags. more>>
BBCode::Parser is a Perl module that parses BBCode tags.
BBCode is a simplified markup language used in several online forums and bulletin boards. It originated with phpBB, and remains most popular among applications written in PHP. Generally, users author their posts in BBCode, and the forum converts it to a permitted subset of well-formed HTML.
BBCode::Parser is a proper recursive parser for BBCode-formatted text.
OVERVIEW
A BBCode::Parser object stores various settings that affect the parsing process. Simple settings are typically set when the parser is created using new(), but they can be queried using get() and altered using set().
See "SETTINGS" for more information.
In addition to the simple settings, specific BBCode tags (or classes of tags) can be permitted or forbidden, using permit() and forbid() respectively. By default, the only forbidden tag is [HTML], which is normally a security violation if permitted.
See "CLASSES" for a list of tag classes.
Once the parser has been configured appropriately, parse trees can be created using the parse() method. The parse tree will consist of objects derived from BBCode::Tag; the root of the tree will be a BBCode::Body object.
Converting the parse tree to HTML is quite simple: call toHTML() on the root of the tree. Likewise, the parse tree can be converted back to BBCode by calling toBBCode(). See "METHODS" in BBCode::Tag to find out what other output methods are available.

Bulletin Board News Server .11
Bulletin Board News Server provides a (v)Bulletin Board NNTP interface. more>>
Bulletin Board News Server provides a (v)Bulletin Board NNTP interface.
Bulletin Board News Server is a (relatively) quick NNTP interface for vBulletin. It reads directly from the MySQL DB and is therefore independent of the Web frontend.
It doesnt alter read counters, but "forbidden names", name size limitations, user authentication, and anonymous posting (through a "usenet" user) are implemented.
Registered users (either in the vboard or through a proprietary pw hash in the config file) can see the email addresses of others, as far as the owners permit it.

Web Information Saver Beta
Web Information Saver saves and organizes texts, infos and quotations from the web. more>>
Web Information Saver saves and organizes texts, infos and quotations from the web.
Saving all kinds of text like news, quotations, informations with source and date for offline use.
The saved infos are sorted in categories and can be searched easily. Very handy for creating papers and researches but also for saving postings from online discussion boards etc, its also possible to save (and view) the information directly in HTML source code.
Why shouldnt i use the Browsers SAVE PAGE.. function?
I did it like this and lost soon the overview. Its always a complete site that is saved -even if you are just interested in one simple sentence! And these large files are scattered all over your harddisc and its uncomfortable to find them or to search within them.
Why shouldnt i use other tools?
Hey! You can use whatever you like. But they all depend on a special operating system or a special browser or they are just expensive. Through the renouncement on platform specific functions, the WEB INFORMATION SAVER is able to run on all major operating systems like Windows, Linux, Unix, MAC OS X etc.

dxr3Player 0.11
dxr3Player is a lightweight, command-line DVD player for Linux and the DXR3 MPEG-2 decoder boards. more>>
dxr3Player is a lightweight, command-line DVD player for Linux and the DXR3 (aka Hollywood+) MPEG-2 decoder boards. This software supports all major DVD features, including: menus, navigation, fast forward and backward playback, subtitles and camera angle changes.
The player is very conservative on memory usage and tries very hard (and mostly succeeds) to keep video and audio in sync.
dxr3Player also plays DVDs on any X Window System display using the Simple DirectMedia Layer (SDL) library.
The software relies on the following other pieces of software:
- The dxr3 (em8300) drivers developed for Linux by the dxr3 project at Sourceforge. It is needed to access the decoder board.
- The libmpdvdkit library from MPlayer (which is actually a modified copy of the libdvdread and libdvdcss libraries). It is incorporated into the sources, and is used to access the DVDs.
- The liba52 library also from MPlayer (which is actually a modified copy of liba52, an A-52 decoding library). It is incorporated into the sources, and is used to decode AC-3 audio streams.
- If you turn on LIRC support, the LIRC library.
- If you want to play MPEG audio, the MAD library.
- The Simple DirectMedia Layer library for displaying on an X Window display without hardware support.
- The libmpeg2 library for decoding MPEG video streams when not using the DXR3 board or the Unichrome chipset.
Main features:
- DVD menus
- navigation: jumping to previous and next chapter and menus
- fast forward and backward playback, pausing
- subtitles
- camera angle changes
- support for full-screen VGA "overlay"
- infrared remote control support via LIRC
- playback of AC3, Linear PCM and MPEG audio streams
- digital audio output (both PCM and AC-3)
- joystick as input device
- dump of complete DVDs to hard disks and playback from there
Version restrictions:
- of Linear PCM streams, only 48 kHz, 16-bit stereo ones are played
- as you can see, this homepage is quite rudimentary. However, I do not hope to change it soon anymore
