Mustajuuri (Black salsify, Scorzonera hispanica) is an audio signal processing application and toolkit. It is designed to meet wide range of needs.
The first and foremost is real-time effects processing. Mustajuuri can process guitar, vocals or any instrument with ease. It is also useful if you have a virtual reality system with more than 10 loudspeakers and you wonder how to control them all.
The basic philosophy is to combine the good features of many existing applications - not to simply copy one. Apps Id like to surpass are ProTools, CuBase and all the others. To make this possible Mustajuuri has an extremely flexible and powerful plugin model.

jVSTwRapper is an easy and reliable Java Wrapper for Steinbergs VST interface. The project enables you to develop VST 2.4 compatible audio plugins and virtual instruments plus user interfaces with the Java Programming Language on Windows, Linux and Mac OSX. Three Demo Plugins (+src) are included!
HOW IT WORKS
The Steinberg VST SDK is a free set of C++ classes to develop vst plugins for realtime dsp processing. The jVSTwRapper uses this classes and makes it possible to
develop VST plugins with the Java programming language
It delegates the calls from the VST host system to an java interface and vice versa. So all you have to do is to write a java class which implements the wrapper interface and implement the audio algorithm. Providing a user interface for your audio plugin is done in exacly the same way.
The jVSTwRapper also enables you to write platform independent (mac/win/linux) vst plugins. The same files run, without any additional effort (no need for recompilation, no platform specific GUI, etc.) on all platforms
Installation:
- If you dont have java, get it from [http://www.java.com]
- Make sure that you have a correctly installed Java Virtual Machine >= v1.3. To see which version you have, type "java -version" on a commandline window
- Download the latest relase (make sure to select the right platform) as a *.zip file and extract it to your audio apps plugins folder. e.g. /VSTPlugins in Cubase. or /Library/Audio/Plug-ins/VST on Mac OSX
- Start your audio app and enjoy the jDelay demo plugin!
Enhancements:
- This release introduces full LADSPA support: all VST effect plugins are automatically exported as LADSPA plugins as well. No additional configuration or anything else is required. Please see the readme file for details
- Custom GUI support for Linux is available in this release. Now, Java Swing GUIs can be used as custom GUIs for Linux, Windows and Mac OSX
- .ini file parser bugfix
- Mac: Custom GUI works now, BUT you need at least Java 1.5.0_06 installed on your system!
- Mac: bundle has now its own icon

FDMS3-FS is a FUSE filesystem driver for the fostex FDMS-3 as used by the various fostex digital multitrackers, such as the FD-4, FD-8.
This driver presents the FDMS filesystem as a series of directories - one for each program (song) on the disk:
/mnt/p000-song1
/mnt/p001-song2
/mnt/p002-anotherone
...
Each directory contains a number of .WAV files - one for each track:
/mnt/p001-song2/track-0.wav
/mnt/p001-song2/track-1.wav
...
These .wav files can then be played/mixed/ripped to disk as you want.
Usage
Step 1 - Image the hard disk (optional)
I suggest taking an image of the hard disk, rather than working with the original. Having said this, I see no reason why it would cause any problems, since no write operations are attempted. You can take an image like this:
dd if=/dev/hdd of=fostex-image.dd bs=512
This WILL take some time!
Step 2 - Mount the filesystem
./fdmsfs fostex-image.dd /mnt
If this fails, you probably have a problem with FUSE. Please check the fuse website for more help. If you are sure its not a fuse problem, please let me know!
Step 3 - Use the .WAVs
ls /mnt
should produce a list of the available programs.
You can obviously copy the wavs somewhere else, encode them, import them into something like cubase/soundgarden or whatever. If you just want to play a song, I suggest using Audacity, which can load all the tracks for a partiular program, and play them together or mix them down.
Enhancements:
- This release adds 24-bit audio support, which means the D2424 is now supported.
- It also adds some sanity checking code that makes working with partial images a little easier.
