USF FlashMob RC4
USF FlashMob is a Live CD made by FlashMobComputing.org more>>
USF FlashMob is a Live CD made by FlashMobComputing.org
USF FlashMob RC4 contains updates that we made to the server code the night before flashmob day. This will allow power users to run larger flashmobs and configure individual nodes with different processor types. In addition we have released the source code for USF_FlashMob_RC_4 (source).
We have put the source for the FlashMob ISO image into the following directories:
- kernel: The patched and modified kernel Linux kernel (2.4.25) that we use on the CD. Kernel modules added to the CD.
- fmtools: The code that runs the FlashMob (fm_* programs).
- mpi: The source for the implementations of MPI on the CD. These are unmodified versions of LAM-MPI and LAMPI.
- blas: The source we used for the ATLAS BLAS libraries. This is unmodified.
- hpl: The modified versions of HPL we used on the CD.
Documentation to build a FlashMob CD does not exist yet. Take a look at the morphix scripts in fmtools. These will let you "unpack" and "pack" a FlashMob CD.

Debian vs Pimientos is the first game of NEOPONTEC Games, and the first to use the NNG Engine (New Neopontec Gaming Engine) developed by Hector Blanco (me) that uses the mentioned SDL Libraries.
The game concept is very easy to understand and to play. There are a lot of peppers (pimientos is the spanish word for peppers) that are flying by the sky, and you, armed with the Debian logo must fight them. The Debian logo shoots GNU heads to kill these devil pimientos
Main features:
- 800x600 resolution at 32 bits.
- High quality images.
- Addictive and funny playing experience
- Cross-platform open source game: (binaries for Win32 & Linux, and sources for other systems).

WorldForge::Atlas-C++ 0.6.0
The Atlas protocol is intended for use in networked roleplaying games. more>>
Atlas C++ is the standard implementation of the WorldForge Atlas protocol. WorldForge::Atlas-C++ is currently being developed in parallel with a stable branch, and the development code maintained separatly.
The stable branch are numbered 0.4.x and implement the atlascpp-0.4 API, and the latest version is 0.4.6. The development version is 0.5.x working towards the stable 0.6.x series and implement the atlascpp-0.6 API.
There is in additional branch referred to as transitional, which is the same code as the latest in the 0.4.x stable branch, with the coding conventions modified to match those of the 0.5.x development branch.
This transitional branch is aimed at developers who are planning to migrate to the 0.5.x development branch when it is ready, to ease the transition. Releases on the transitional branch are 0.4.9x, and implement the atlascpp-0.5 API.
Enhancements:
- The copyright dates in various source files have been updated and corrected.
- The RPM spec file has been cleaned up.

Evil Greg Vs. Eight Year Olds 0.4.1
Evil Greg battles hordes of 8 year old kids. more>>
Evil Greg Vs. Eight Year Olds was originally conceived when Nizzity asked EG how many 8 year old kids it would take to bring him down. EG responded that no amount would be enough because he would eat them as he went and would slowly grow in power.
He claims that eventually his heartburn would allow him to breath fire and they would fall before him. The game will test the merit of his claims. This is an accurate scientific simulation.

ColorSnatch project is a cross-platform GUI board game.
ColorSnatch is a board game built using the Lazarus libraries. Player 1 starts in the lower left corner, player 2 in the upper right.
Each turn, players choose one color to add to their territory. Then, all adjacent tiles of that color are captured. The first player to capture 50% of the field wins. It can be played vs. an AI or another human. Internationalization is available.
The game is also a demonstration of Lazaruss capabilities.
Enhancements:
- Basque translation added.
- Minor bugfixes.

Meta Matrix Library 0.7.2
Meta Matrix Library is a modular designed collection of C libraries. more>>
Meta Matrix Library is a modular designed collection of C libraries. Meta Matrix Library was developed as part of the Free Finite Element Package to provide easy and consistent access to numerical linear algebra software for sparse and dense matrices.
The dense matrix and vector operations of the package are based on LAPACK and BLAS (focused upon ATLAS). For more details of LAPACK and BLAS see Related Links. Beyond this MEML supports UMFPACK ( SuperLU projected ) as solver for linear systems of equations with sparse matrices.

Conexus 0.2
Conexus is a set of programs for analyzing neuroanatomical images. more>>
The goal of the Conexus project is to build a graphical database of neuroanatomical connections, focussing on thalamo-cortical and cortico-cortical connections in the macaque monkey.
Conexus will allow users to enter data, and also to search for and analyze patterns of data gathered from different experiments, by different investigators, reported in a variety of journals, together into one unified macaque atlas.
Equipped with the proper search and 3D visualization tools, it will allow students, modelers, and experimentalists to learn about the available data on neuroanatomical connections, or to compare their own findings to existing data.
Currently, the focus of the project is on the alignment tools that are necessary to visualize large numbers of immunohistologically stained sections together in 3D.
Conexus is the successor to an earlier project called XANAT. Funding for Conexus comes from the Human Brain Project at NIH, as part of the Human Brain Project at UC Davis (Ted Jones, PI).

Snoopy vs. the Red Baron 1.0
Snoopy vs. the Red Baron is an open-source one/two player combat game, available for Mac OS X, Linux, BeOS, QNX and Windows. more>>
Snoopy vs. the Red Baron is an open-source one/two player combat game, available for Mac OS X, Linux, BeOS, QNX and Windows.
The original Snoopy was a tiny game for the Apple Macintosh, with black and white graphics, but already almost all the levels of the new Snoopy/SDL were implemented.
Snoopy could be played by two opponents, sharing a single screen and keyboard, and although it had poor graphics and tough controls, we very much liked to play it.
While we learned programming, we constantly sought for simple, yet interesting projects. If you have ever tried to learn a new language or API, you will have recognized that the simplest way in mastering the stuff is simply reprogramming an existing application, without losing much thought on design and originality.
So my friend reprogrammed Snoopy, in Object Pascal, using SAT, the Sprite Animation Toolkit, on his Classic II. That version of Snoopy features a fully functional AI, network play, but only the first level ( weapons drop).
While he was at it, he also implemented a "missing feature", the bombs, for which there where graphics and sounds in the game, but which could not be thrown.
When I discovered SDL, I recognized that it would be ideal for the job. Running on Windows, Linux, MacOS, BeOS and many other platforms, it is my new toolkit of choice for multimedia programming. It took us several weeks to port Snoopy (besides going to school, but now the work is almost done, with only the finishing touches to be made.
I can only encourage everyone to try SDL; it is really easy and portable (if worked right).
