Create New Template Service Menu 0.2.1

Create New Template Service Menu 0.2.1

Create New Template Service Menu is a context menu item for KDE and Konqueror that automates adding Create New... menu entries. more>>
Create New Template Service Menu is a context menu item for KDE and Konqueror that automates adding Create New... menu entries from existing files. It adds a "Create Template" item to the Actions submenu of the context menu. It consists of a service menu .desktop file and a shell script.
KDE Create New Template Service Menu
This service menu removes the hassle of hand-coding Create New... menu entries. It is accessed by right-clicking regular file icons on the desktop or in Konqueror, pointing to Actions, and selecting Create Template.
It consists of a service menu .desktop file and a Bash shell script. The Create Template service menu runs a shell script that brings up two dialogs--one for choosing an icon to associate with the Create New... menu entry, and the other for entering the menu item text itself. It uses this information to write a Create New... menu item .desktop file. The shell script bases the name of the .desktop file on the name of the document file clicked on from the desktop and places a copy of the file in the .sources subdirectory of ~/.kde/share/templates.
The service menu should be placed in ~/.kde/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus and the shell script in ~/bin.
I suggest that users first install the Simple Service Menu Installer available from http://www.kde-apps.org/content/download.php?content=23760&id=1. That service menu provides the same service for installable service menus that mine does for document templates and will greatly simplify the process of installing this service menu. After downloading that service menu just right-click on it, point to Actions, point to Install Service, and click one of the options available on the submenu. Then to install my service menu, just follow the same proceedure and place the shell script in your personal ~/bin directory.
From that point on you will have a nice, simple method of adding both installable service menus and templates to the KDE context menu.
This project is released under the terms of the GNU GPL v.2.0.
Enhancements:
- Changed menu icons to more appropriate ones.

Create PlayList is a service menu for KDE which will create a M3U playlist file with .mp3, .ogg, .wav files into the directory. more>>
Create PlayList is a service menu for KDE and has been tested with kde 3.5.4 and 3.5.5.

The service is available over directories. It will create a M3U playlist file with .mp3, .ogg, .wav... files into the directory. Filename can be changed.

To create M3U playlist file the script uses a program called "fapg" (http://royale.zerezo.com/fapg/). Thanks for making our live a little bit easier.

To install:

- Copy "create-m3u-playlist.desktop" to YOURHOME/.kde/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus/
- Copy "playlister" to any directory included into your $PATH (i.e. /usr/local/bin your may be root to do this) and give it execution permision (i.e. chmod 755 playlister as root)
- Make sure "fapg" is installed in your system.

B::Generate 1.06

B::Generate 1.06

B::Generate is a Perl module which you can create your own op trees.

SYNOPSIS

use B::Generate;
# Do nothing, slowly.
CHECK {
my $null = new B::OP("null",0);
my $enter = new B::OP("enter",0);
my $cop = new B::COP(0, "hiya", 0);
my $leave = new B::LISTOP("leave", 0, $enter, $null);
$leave->children(3);
$enter->sibling($cop);
$enter->next($cop);
$cop->sibling($null);
$null->next($leave);
$cop->next($leave);

# Tell Perl where to find our tree.
B::main_root($leave);
B::main_start($enter);
}

WARNING

This module will create segmentation faults if you dont know how to use it properly. Further warning: sometimes I dont know how to use it properly.

There are lots of other methods and utility functions, but they are not documented here. This is deliberate, rather than just through laziness. You are expected to have read the Perl and XS sources to this module before attempting to do anything with it.
Patches welcome.

Malcolm Beatties B module allows you to examine the Perl op tree at runtime, in Perl space; its the basis of the Perl compiler. But what it doesnt let you do is manipulate that op tree: it wont let you create new ops, or modify old ones. Now you can.
Well, if youre intimately familiar with Perls internals, you can.

B::Generate turns Bs accessor methods into get-set methods. Hence, instead of merely saying

$op2 = $op->next;

you can now say

$op->next($op2);

to set the next op in the chain. It also adds constructor methods to create new ops. This is where it gets really hairy.

new B::OP ( type, flags )
new B::UNOP ( type, flags, first )
new B::BINOP ( type, flags, first, last )
new B::LOGOP ( type, flags, first, other )
new B::LISTOP ( type, flags, first, last )
new B::COP ( flags, name, first )

In all of the above constructors, type is either a numeric value representing the op type (62 is the addition operator, for instance) or the name of the op. ("add")
(Incidentally, if you know about custom ops and have registed them properly with the interpreter, you can create custom ops by name: new B::OP("mycustomop",0), or whatever.)

first, last and other are ops to be attached to the current op; these should be B::OP objects. If you havent created the ops yet, dont worry; give a false value, and fill them in later:

$x = new B::UNOP("negate", 0, undef);
# ... create some more ops ...
$x->first($y);

In addition, one may create a new nextstate operator with

newstate B::op ( flags, label, op)

in the same manner as B::COP::new - this will also, however, add the lineseq op.
Finally, you can set the main root and the starting op by passing ops to the B::main_root and B::main_start functions.

This module can obviously be used for all sorts of fun purposes. The best one will be in conjuction with source filters; have your source filter parse an input file in a foreign language, create an op tree for it and get Perl to execute it. Then email me and tell me how you did it. And why.

Class::Date 1.1.9

Class::Date 1.1.9

Class::Date provides a date datatype for Perl. more>>
Class::Date is a perl module, which provides a simple date type for perl.
You can create new Class::Date objects with a constructor from different scalar formats, array refs, and hash refs, and then you can easily manipulate it by the builtin "+" and "-" operators (e.g., $date=date([2001,03,15])+3Y 1s). Relative date types also available.
Enhancements:
- This release adds "ampm" and "meridiam" methods.

Oracle Aggregate C++ Library Beta1

Oracle Aggregate C++ Library Beta1

Oracle Aggregate C++ Library allows C++ programmers to easily create new aggregate functions for Oracle. more>>
Oracle Aggregate C++ Library allows C++ programmers to easily create new aggregate functions for Oracle.

Oracle Aggregate C++ Library can be used as a glue library to existing C++ and C libraries. Detailed knowledge of the OCI aggregate interface is not required to use the library.

With automatic conversion of Oracle built-in types to C++ types it is possible to use the library without using any OCI functions directly.

The Oracle OCI interface for aggregate functions provides a straightforward way to implement aggregate functions in C or C++. There is, however, a certain amount of bookkeeping that needs to be performed in order to use the interface. The goal of this library is to take care of all the bookkeeping details for your, all you need to provide is the aggregate function itself. This makes it particularly easy to use existing C++ code and libraries in Oracle aggregate functions.

Design

The way the library works is that it defines the shared library entry point functions required by Oracle. The entry point functions simply forward all arguments to the static functions of the Aggregate class.

The Aggregate class along with a number of helper classes and functions takes care of converting arguments, configuring the environment, creating implementation instances and such. When everything is ready the arguments originally sent by Oracle are passed to your aggregate implementation.

ClearCase::SyncTree 0.39

ClearCase::SyncTree 0.39

ClearCase::SyncTree is a Perl module that can synchronize a tree of files with a tree of elements. more>>
ClearCase::SyncTree is a Perl module that can synchronize a tree of files with a tree of elements.

SYNOPSIS

# Create a synctree object.
my $sync = ClearCase::SyncTree->new;
# Tell it where the files are coming from ...
$sync->srcbase($sbase);
# Tell it where theyre going to ...
$sync->dstbase($dbase);
# Supply the list of files to work on (relative or absolute paths).
$sync->srclist(keys %files);
# Compare src and dest lists and figure out what to do.
$sync->analyze;
# Create new elements in the target area.
$sync->add;
# Update existing files which differ between src and dest.
$sync->modify;
# Remove any files from dest that arent in src.
$sync->subtract;
# Check in the changes.
$sync->checkin;

See the enclosed synctree script for full example usage.

This module provides an infrastructure for programs which want to synchronize a set of files, typically a subtree, with a similar destination subtree in VOB space. The enclosed synctree script is an example of such a program.

The source area may be in a VOB or may be a regular filesystem; the destination area must be in a VOB. Methods are supplied for adding, subtracting, and modifying destination files so as to make that area look identical to the source.

Symbolic links are supported, even on Windows (of course in this case the source filesystem must support them, which is only likely in the event of an MVFS->MVFS transfer). Note that the text of the link is transported verbatim from source area to dest area; thus relative symlinks may no longer resolve in the destination.

Class::Classgen::New 3.03

Class::Classgen::New 3.03

Class::Classgen::New is a Perl module that creates the new() method for classes generated by classgen. more>>
Class::Classgen::New is a Perl module that creates the new() method for classes generated by classgen.

SYNOPSIS

Used within classgen.

The main purpose of New.pm is to write the new() method for a class generated by classgen. It provides code to derive local instance variables with my for all specified instance variables. It provides code to store them within an anonymous hash (only way in the current version). Finally, this hash is blessed into the desired class.

Methods generated by New.pm

In the blessing section of the generated new() method:
inherit_from(): copies the entries of the blessed {} from the base class into the blessed {} of the derived class.

ENVIRONMENT

Nothing special. Just use Perl5.

DIAGNOSTICS

There is no special diagnostics. New.pm is used within classgen which is called with the -w option.
