Xconvers is a TCP/IP based service for Amateur radio operators which uses a command subset of IRC.
Xconvers is a client for convers, a IRC-like conversation system for hamradio operators. Convers differs from IRC because there is a much smaller command set and command input and output is generally shorter. This is done because a lot of convers servers are linked by radio waves, where traffic should be kept low.
It is optimized for generating less traffic than IRC, because part of the convers server network is connected over a radio network with slow (1200-9600 baud) links. Convers uses port 3600.
Xconvers was born a long time ago as a motif client for the wampes convers server. The xconvers maintainer was looking for someone to take over his software.
After maintaining the motif version for some time, I have rewritten the user interface to use GTK+ and have added a bunch of features.

It is very similar to del.icio.us and in addition, it enables conversations around posts. To use the PostIt extension, you need to download and install the Indus Live SDK (available at http://www.aumeganetworks.com) which provides access to the P2P network and the PostIt application (available at http://www.aumeganetworks.com) which can be installed using the Indus Live toolbar.

PostIt currently features abilities to mark-and-post any web content, bookmark pages, add contacts, share and reply to posts, editing and organisation of posts. Indus Live has been designed to enable implementation and hosting of open source P2P services and developers are encouraged to improve PostIt (sources available from http://sourceforge.net/projects/indus) and add other P2P services. Current plans include adding tags, public posts and search, post to blogs, feeds of tagged posts and import/export of posts.

Off-the-Record Messaging is a Pidgin plugin that allows you to have private conversations over instant messaging by providing:
Encryption
No one else can read your instant messages.
Authentication
You are assured the correspondent is who you think it is.
Deniability
The messages you send do not have digital signatures that are checkable by a third party. Anyone can forge messages after a conversation to make them look like they came from you. However, during a conversation, your correspondent is assured
the messages he sees are authentic and unmodified.
Perfect forward secrecy
If you lose control of your private keys, no previous conversation is compromised.
Enhancements:

- Removed "view secure session id" and "verify fingerprint" options from the OTR button menu. Added "authenticate buddy" option in its place. This new option allows you to authenticate your buddies by entering some secret that only the two of you know, rather than by using a long user-unfriendly sequence of hex characters. [The old "verify fingerprint" dialog is still available via an "Advanced..." button from the new "authenticate buddy" dialog.]

Intercom is a simple voice over IP (VOIP) utility. It supports various audio codecs and sample rates enabling the user to choose between high quality audio or lower speed data transfers. Intercom is a console utility with a command-line interface.

The primary reason I wrote Intercom was because though the VOIP solutions available were quite flexible and useful, most if not all only supported 8k audio conversations. Though this is adequate for lower speed connections, a high-speed connection can usually do much better and the quality improvement is quite substantial.

If you are not familiar with installing a GNU utility, please read through the INSTALL file located in this directory. If you are familiar with the standard UNIX install procedure, the following steps should get you up and running.

postprox is an SMTP proxy which copies an SMTP conversation between its input and another SMTP server, but spools the DATA portion to a temporary file and runs a specified program on it before passing it on to the output server - or outputting an SMTP error code instead if the content filter says so.

postprox is design to do only one job: proxy SMTP conversations and pass message contents to another program to determine whether to accept or reject the message.

With this in mind, postprox is small and has a minimal feature set; its reduced complexity reduces the risk of bugs and security holes.

VT6530 Terminal Emulator is a Java implementation of the proprietary terminal used with Tandem mainframes.
The Tandem VT6530 is a proprietary terminal used with their Non-Stop(TM) series of mainframes. These high-reliability machines are popular in the banking industry. If youve ever used an ATM to get cash, youve probably used a VT6530.
The terminal itself can operate in three different mode: conversation, block, and ANSI (VT100). Conversation mode is a simple scrolling text mode with the addition key buffering and text attributes. In block mode, text is displayed in a formated screen with special edit fields. ANSI mode is only used with OSS, Tandems UNIX wanabe operating layer.
Enhancements:

- New telnet and ANSI terminal implementations.
- Linux, Cygwin, and HP NonStop (tandem OSS) builds are not quite running yet.

Kopete RPM for openSUSE contains RPM packages for openSUSE 10.2, compiled with KDE 3.5.6.

The tcp_wrappers package allows you to monitor and filter incoming requests for the SYSTAT, FINGER, FTP, TELNET, RLOGIN, RSH, EXEC, TFTP, TALK, and other network services. It provides tiny daemon wrapper programs that can be installed without any changes to existing software or to existing configuration files. The wrappers report the name of the client host and of the requested service. The wrappers do not exchange information with the client or server applications, so it does not impose no overhead on the actual conversation between the client and server applications.
It supports both 4.3BSD-style sockets and System V.4-style TLI. Praise yourself lucky if you dont know what that means.

Optional features are: access control to restrict what systems can connect to what network daemons; client user name lookups with the RFC 931 etc. protocol; additional protection against hosts that pretend to have someone elses host name; additional protection against hosts that pretend to have someone elses host address.
The programs are very portable. Build procedures are provided for many common (and not so common) environments, and guidelines are provided in case your environment is not among them.
Requirements are that network daemons are spawned by a super server such as the inetd; a 4.3BSD-style socket programming interface and/or System V.4-style TLI programming interface; and the availability of a syslog(3) library and of a syslogd(8) daemon. The wrappers should run without modification on any system that satisfies these requirements. Workarounds have been implemented for several common bugs in systems software.
What to do if this is your first encounter with the wrapper programs: 1) read the tutorial sections for an introduction to the relevant concepts and terminology; 2) glance over the security feature sections in this document; 3) follow the installation instructions (easy or
advanced). I recommend that you first use the default security feature settings. Run the wrappers for a few days to become familiar with their logs, before doing anything drastic such as cutting off access or installing booby traps.
Enhancements:
- Improved the anti source-routing protection. The code in version 7.5 was not as strong as it could be, because I tried to be compatible with Linux. That was a mistake. Sorry for the inconvenience.

- The program no longer terminates case of a source-routed connection, making the IP-spoofing code more usable for long-running daemons.
