The wmpptpd is a Linux PPTP (Point to Point Tunnelling Protocol) server. Comparing to the existing PPTP client and server, it handles multiple connections and clients, implements window protocol, etc. After few minor changes you can use it as a client, too.
The PPTP, point-to-point tunelling protocol, is used to tunell a PPP connection over the local network. It is often used to build the virtual private networks using Windows 9x machines and NT server. There exists a PPTP server and PPTP client for Linux, both of them used to communicate with a windows machine:

However, there are more implementations than the one in Windows around, and weve got a Compaq Microcom 4000 modem rack, which answers digital incomming calls and forwards the requests to a server (using PPTP of course). At first, we tried to adapt a PoPToP server or client to do the job for us, but unfortunately found many problems, so we started from scratch. Our goals were:
- working PPTP implementation
- extensible and flexible design
- multiple connections at one time
- support for as many pptp-talking clients as possible
After few nights, the first versions were ready, few bugs were caught (for example, we had to throw our implementation of windows, as microcom 4000 does not use them; we found few serious design flaws of PPTP protocol itself, spent some time catching the bugs with multiple connections, ...). Then we installed this all on our production server and forgot about it. After some time, weve got some bug reports, which needed to be ironed out. So we re-visited the sources, fixed the bugs and made this release.

Cpqarrayd is a daemon to monitor HP (compaq) arraycontrollers. Cpqarrayd project reports any status changes, like failing disks, to the syslog and optionally to a remote host using SNMP traps.
This tool can run on a linux based intel box with a smart array controller from Compaq. It reports status changes in the disks both to the syslog and to a snmp trap host.
The default is to only log to the syslog. You can specify traphosts with the -t parameter at the commandline. Multiple traphosts are allowed. It checks for valid input, but any errors are non-fatal, in fact the traphost is just ignored..
To ensure correct opereration compile it for the same kernel that runs on the machine where you want to use this. At least make sure that the version of the SmartArray driver is the same. Strange things can happen otherwise.
Enhancements:
- This update is mainly a cleanup and it should fix some compile errors on some systems with 2.6.x kernels. A link to the latest version is located on the left sidebar.

RoadMap is a car navigation system for UNIX. more>>
RoadMap is an open source (GPL) program that provides a car navigation for Linux and UNIX. It displays a map of the streets, tracks the position provided by a NMEA-compliant GPS receiver, identifies the street matching this GPS position and announces the name of the crossing street at the next intersection. A rudimentary trip feature allows RoadMap to display some basic navigation information (distance to the destination, direction, speed, etc..). Voice messages are generated that duplicate some of the screen information.
It is possible to display a specific area by providing a (complete or incomplete) postal address, the intersection of two streets or an exact position (longitude / latitude).
The map files used by RoadMap are generated from the TIGER files provided by the US Census Bureau, and thus cover the USA only. The RoadMap map format is a binary format that is sensitive to the endianness of the processor. Maps available on this site cover all the USA and have been generated for a little endian processor (such as the Intel Pentium and StrongARM processors).
RoadMap has been designed to be usable on both a desktop or laptop PC, or on a PDA such as the iPAQ from HP (formely from COMPAQ). It can use either the Gtk 1.2 , Gtk 2.0 or QT graphic library for its user interface. The Qt interface supports the Sharps Zaurus PDA. All these machines share the same endianness and can use the maps provided on this site.
RoadMap is at an early stage of development. At this time there are no routing features implemented yet. The plan for the future is to implement some navigation features similar to those found in commercial street navigation systems. The main limit for implementing routing is the lack of navigation information in the US Census Bureau database (for example one-way street are not indicated). The US Census Bureau has clearly indicated that it does not plan to add these information in the future (the USCB does not need them).
RoadMap uses gpsd for the GPS link and flite (festival lite) for the voice messages. Note that flite can be rebuilt with better voices than the default one (such as a US voice instead of a british one--some may disagree :). See the flite README for more information. Here is an example, courtesy of Scot Wilcoxon:

For example, the map of Los Angeles county takes about 10 Mbytes of flash space. Future versions of the US Census bureau data will be supported as well (usually a 1 or 2 months after the data has been released).
When RoadMap starts, it displays a map of the same area that was displayed on the latest session. Clicking on the map screen triggers a "sign" that displays the name of the street, road or freeway (if any) that is the closest to the mouse hotpoint.
Enhancements:
- This version includes some GUI improvements (the user can redefine the toolbar & menu) and bug fixes.
