Free compact flash linux project software for linux

The Compact Flash Linux Project is a Linux distribution designed to run on a compact flash card in read-only mode. It is as small as possible, and currently needs around 14 MB.
Compact Flash Linux Project includes OpenSSH, quagga, iptables, hostap, madwifi, wireless-tools, pppoe, tcpdump, bridge-utils, and more. The initial release was v0.1.1, dated January 8, 2004. Version 0.1.4 was released July 23, 2004.
Enhancements:
- Many packages were upgraded.
- The package manager was improved a bit.

Linux Test Project is a joint project with SGI, IBM, OSDL, Bull, and Wipro Technologies with a goal to deliver test suites to the open source community that validate the reliability, robustness, and stability of Linux.

The project consists of well over 2000 individual testcases and a test driver to automate execution of the tests.

Shift Linux is designed to give the user an experience of being part of the Neowin community as well as having a simple, easy-to-use Live CD that can be installed to your hard drive, if you enjoy the way our distribution works. Shift is a free, GPL-based Linux distribution that can be freely distributed or modified. There are no restrictions with Shift.
Shift Linux is a project that was created by the Neowin community (http://www.neowin.net). Based on Morphix Linux, Shift is Debian based, therefore it has access to all of the software and applications as other Debian distributions.
As we developed Shift, we decided to produce different versions of Shift for computers with lighter or more robust hardware configurations. We have produced Shift with Fluxbox as the predominant desktop manager, and Shift with Gnome, for heartier machines. We will also add a version that gives the user the opportunity continue to add different desktop managers as time goes on.
The project team consists of members with a wide variety of experiences and talents. Each has contributed in his / her own way. Whether team members have worked on the distribution itself, or the Shift website, their efforts have been dedicated to creating this quality product.

Ghost for Linux project is a hard disk and partition imaging and cloning tool similar to "Norton Ghost" and by Symantec.
The created images are optionally compressed, and they can be stored on a local hard drive or transferred to an anonymous FTP server.
A drive can be cloned using the "ClicknClone" function. g4l supports file splitting if the local filesystem does not support writing files >2GB. The included kernel supports ATA, serial-ATA, and SCSI drives.
Common network cards are supported. It is packaged as a bootable CD image with an ncurses GUI for easy use.
Enhancements:
- This release adds new kernels and syslinux, plus other support program options.
- It adds ntfs-3g to support writing to ntfs partitions for the local backup images and adds ntfsclone backups to local drives or partitions.
- Users can now copy the files from the CD image to a flash drive that has been made bootable, and it will then work from flash.

Bomns for Linux project is a fast-paced multiplayer deathmatch arcade game.

Its gameplay is best described as "old-school," as it is based on the popular text-based Bomns franchise.

It has several modern conveniences, however, such as a level editor and GTK2 configuration tool.

Despite the name, Bomns for Linux is quite portable and can easily be built on nearly any platform.

Trinacria Linux is a new Italian distribution based on KNOPPIX.

Trinacria Linuxs primary target markets are the Italian office users and Linux beginners.

GNU/Linux Desktop Testing Project (GNU/LDTP) is aimed at producing high quality test automation framework and cutting-edge tools that can be used to test GNU/Linux Desktop and improve it.

It uses the "Accessibility" libraries to poke through the applications user interface. The framework has tools to generate "AppMap" by reading through the user interface components of an application. The framework also has tools to record test-cases based on user-selection on the application.

GNU/LDTP core framework uses "AppMap" and the recorded "test-cases" to test an application and gives the status of each test-case as output.

As of now, GNU/LDTP can test any GNOME application which are accessibility enabled, Mozilla, OpenOffice.org, any Java application (should have a UI based on swing) and KDE 4.0 applications based on QT 4.0 (based on the press releases by KDE).

The Linux Memory Game project is a childrens (and adults) game based on the card game.
The Linux Memory Game is an X11 game using GTK+ library for children ages 3 and up. It is a lot more than the card game "Memory".
It has five skill levels, the higher ones are challenging to adults as well. Additionally, one can choose from the menu to match 2 cards or 3 cards, or match different cards.
This last "different card" mode can be a very good teaching tool for teaching languages, concepts, or association.
Main features:
- Extensible - add new images yourself without having to make changes to the program.
- Five skill levels appropriate for the youngest and the ones with the best brains.
- Can play two card matching or three card matching (more challenging!)
- Can set to match different cards. This can be used with apropriately designed pictures to teach children (or adults) words, concepts, or another language.
