SDL for AmigaOS 4.0 1.2.11

SDL for AmigaOS 4.0 project is a port of SDL, the Simple Directmedia Layer, for AmigaOS 4.0. more>>
SDL for AmigaOS 4.0 project is a port of SDL, the Simple Directmedia Layer, for AmigaOS 4.0 SDL is a popular open-source API for games and other software that need low-level access to video and audio hardware and input devices.

SDL was created and is maintained by Sam Lantinga, but has had a legion of contributors of the years (see SDL credits). The AmigaOS 4.0 port was created originally by Thomas and Hans Joerg Frieden, but for the last two years has largely been the work of me, Richard Drummond.

Other contributors include Juergen Schober (who developed the audio layer). You can find may OS4.0 applications built with SDL at os4depot.net and some that I have built on my Amiga Stuff page.

cxmon 3.2

cxmon 3.2

cxmon is an interactive command-driven file manipulation tool. more>>
cxmon is an interactive command-driven file manipulation tool that is inspired by the "Amiga Monitor" by Timo Rossi. The project has commands and features similar to a machine code monitor/debugger, but it lacks any functions for running/tracing code.
There are, however, built-in PowerPC, 680x0, 80x86 (including x86-64), 6502 and Z80 disassemblers, and special support for disassembling MacOS code.
Usage: ./cxmon [-m] [-r] [command...]
What can I do with cxmon?
The primary intention behind cxmon was to provide a tool for emulation developers and other people that need to manipulate or inspect binary data and machine code. It has been an invaluable tool during the development of Basilisk II, SheepShaver and Frodo. Possible uses of cxmon include:
- disassembling executables in non-native formats, including raw formats like ROM images
- analyzing boot blocks
- patching program files
- removing unneeded headers from binary data files
You can also simply use it as an interactive workbench for manipulating files, or even as a hex calculator.
Examples
Here are some simple examples of what is possible with cxmon:
Join "file1" and "file2" to "file3"
[ 0 "file1"
[ . "file2"
] 0 . "file3"
Remove the first 24 bytes (e.g. an unneeded header) from a file
[ 0 "file"
] 18 .-18 "file"
Convert a four-character-code to its hex and decimal values
? RSRC
Disassemble LILO boot code
[ 0 "/boot/boot.0800"
d8086 0
Create a modified version of cxmon that has " $" instead of "->" as a prompt
[ 0 "cxmon"
set size=.
h 0 . "->"
: . " $"
] 0 size "cxmon1"
Convert a binary file which contains 16-bit numbers in little-endian format to big-endian format (or vice-versa)
[ 0 "file"

Frodo application is a portable C64 emulator. more>>
Frodo application is a portable C64 emulator.
Frodo is a free, portable Commodore 64 emulator that focuses on the exact reproduction of special graphical effects possible on the C64.
It is capable of running most games and demos correctly, even those with FLI, FLD, DYCP, open borders, multiplexed sprites, timing dependent decoders, fast loaders etc.
Enhancements:
- An enhanced Tcl/Tk preferences GUI written by Gerard Decatrel
- The ability to use SDL for graphics output which eliminates the restriction to 8-bit screens (which probably no-one is using any more). If you have SDL version 1.2 or higher installed, the configure script will automatically detect and use it.

Audio File Library 0.2.6

Audio File Library 0.2.6

Audio File Library is a uniform API for accessing standard digital audio file formats. more>>
The Audio File Library provides a uniform and elegant API for accessing a variety of audio file formats, such as AIFF/AIFF-C, WAVE, NeXT/Sun .snd/.au, Berkeley/IRCAM/CARL Sound File, Audio Visual Research, Amiga IFF/8SVX, and NIST SPHERE. Supported compression formats are currently G.711 mu-law and A-law and IMA and MS ADPCM.

Key goals of the Audio File Library are file format transparency and data format transparency. The same calls for opening a file, accessing and manipulating audio metadata (e.g. sample rate, sample format, textual information, MIDI parameters), and reading/writing sample data will work with any supported audio file format. Likewise, the format of the audio data presented to the application need not be tied to the format of the data contained in the file.

The Audio File Library distributed under the GNU Library General Public License.

CBM BASIC Lister 2.02 Beta

CBM BASIC Lister 2.02 Beta

CBM BASIC Lister is a Commodore related application to convert BASIC programs from their binary form to text. more>>
CBM BASIC Lister is a Commodore related application to convert BASIC programs from their binary form to text.
CBM BASIC Lister (formerly C64 BASIC Lister) is a tool to generate an easily readable and printable BASIC listing of any CBM BASIC program (C64/VIC20, etc.) saved as "prg" file.
It is not a BASIC interpreter, its not a debugger and neither a development tool. Its just a LISTer and, by default, it acts just as the C64 native "LIST" command does.
Extra flow-control options were introduced to automatically correct the aspect of each listing and format it before introducing any part of it in your own electronic documents.
Of course, it can be used to study a BASIC program listing from your PC too.
Main features:
- Optional indent-ation of cycle (and procedure with Extended sets) body, with nested cycles processing
- Optional right alignment of BASIC line numbers
- Optional blank line insertion after a RETURN/END command (and End of procedures with Extended sets)
- Simons BASIC, Ultra BASIC (ABACUS), and Special BASIC support (with detection)

trailblazer 0.9

trailblazer 0.9

trailblazer is a version of the Commodore classic Trailblazer. more>>
trailblazer project is a version of the Commodore classic "Trailblazer".

Trailblazer is a version of the classic Commodore and Sinclair Spectrum game: bounce a ball down a track to the end, avoiding the holes.

This game is for Linux and other operating systems, and uses SDL.

One of those games where you move down a scrolling field into the screen, and different coloured tiles have various effects.

Quite fun to write, but a bit dull to play I think. The game emerged from a bit of code I wrote for fun :)

Spectalum rev31

Spectalum rev31

Spectalum project is an engine for the CRPG Eye of the Beholder II. more>>
Spectalum project is an engine for the CRPG Eye of the Beholder II.

Spectalum is a reverse engineered Open Source game engine for the 1991 CRPG Eye of the Beholder II: The Legend of Darkmoon originally developed by Westwood Associates.

Like with most similar projects, the original game data has to be obtained seperately to play the game.

Why..?

Because I loved this game so much - I played it a long long time ago on my Amiga 500 and later on my first PC.

Another point is my interest in classic gaming technologies. I think this Dungeon-Master style is very interesting from a gamers - and a programmers view. You can create fascinating worlds with very low system resources.

How to play

Copy your original game datafiles (ENGLISH version only) into the "original" game folder. Now start the game with the remake-binary (e.g. spectalum.exe).

Eye of the Beholder - the Legend of Darkmoon is a classic role playing game from the early 90s. You move through a static tile-based 3D environment solving puzzles and hunting monsters.

What do I need to play this remake?

My ambition is to create a system-independent 100% remake of the great original. That means old-school 320x200 role playing gameplay. By using the SDL multimedia library and general C++ coding standards the game will run on any libSDL supported platform.

cbmfs 1.0

cbmfs 1.0

cbmfs is a fuse filesystem for Commodore disk images. more>>
cbmfs is a fuse filesystem for Commodore disk images.

With cbmfs you can mount your 8-bit Commodore disk images into your local filesystem. Currently d64, d71, d81, d80, d82 images are supported in read and write mode.

To compile cbmfs you need the FUSE development files installed on your computer and to use cbmfs you have to enable the FUSE kernel module. The kernel module is normally loaded automatically if it has been compiled into your kernel.

To mount an image to /mnt execute the following command:

cbmfsmount image.d71 /mnt

cbmfs tries to resemble the commodore filetype by setting some unix access permissions. If you change the file permissions on unix with chmod you can alter the commodore file type.

Note that cbmfs is still in the development phase and may not work 100% correct. You should always work with a backup copy of the image you are mounting in case cbmfs will corrupt something on the image.
