JabberTools 0.5.0
JabberTools is a set of tools that makes it easier to use and convert to Jabber. more>>
JabberTools is a set of tools that makes it easier to use and convert to Jabber.
It is important to note that in certain scenarios, the server may take a little while to complete the tasks described below and may not response. For now, to compensate, we dont check for a response. Thus, you may encounter cases where account creations, removals, or password changes may not work. If you encounter such a case, please submit a bug report at http://jabbertools.sf.net/ or email mike@aspect.net.
How to run the Account Manager (commandline)
Create a new account
Remove your account from the server
Change your Jabber password
To run the JabberTools Account Manager:
/account_manager.pl
or
/perl account_manager.pl
and follow the interactive prompting on the screen.
How to run the Account Manager (web-based)
To install the Account Manager as a script others can use on your web server:
copy or move account_manager/www/account_manager-www.pl to the top level of your servers cgi-script directory
make the file executable (chmod 755 account_manager-www.pl should work)
copy, link, or move common/jabbertools-common.pl to the to the top level of your servers cgi-script directory
copy, link, or move account_manager/www/top_html-am.inc and bot_html-am.inc to the top level of your servers cgi-script directory.
if you wish, modify top_html-am.inc and bot_html-am.inc to make the account manager
Enhancements:
- Importer
- Imports from several new programs (Gerrys ICQ, etc)
- Additional stability in importing ICQ2000 data

JBrownie 1.3
JBrownie functions as a wrapper around the system default javac Java compiler to monitor Java sourcecode and automatically recompile any files found changed. more>> JBrownie 1.3 functions as a wrapper around the system default javac Java compiler to monitor Java sourcecode and automatically recompile any files found changed.
The focus of this tool is to assist software developers, who prefer to use a plain text editors over a resourcehungry IDE, but still want their code to be autocompiled on the fly without delay and without having to manually start javac over and over again. Checking for syntax errors becomes now as easy as just saving the file in question.
Major Features:
- Installation
- No Installation required. The program can be started from any directory as is. Note on classpath: The JVM does not accept -cp and -jar at the same time. If -jar is given, -cp (as well as the CLASSPATH environment variable, if set) is ignored. This means, that in order to prevent linker warnings, JBrownie must either not be started via -jar (the main class is called de.onyxbits.jbrownie.Core) or a project specific classpath must be submitted in the settings dialog under "Compile options".
- Using
- JBrownie must be supplied with a base directory, containing the source code tree to watch. This can either be done from the commandline, by submitting the desired path as the first argument or from the file menu. Once a directory, it (and its subdirectories) will be scanned for files with the .java extension (case insensitive). Whenever such a file changes (or a new file is added), it will automatically be (re)compiled. The output of the compiler is printed to the main window of JBrownie.
- Besides merely compiling class files, JBrownie can also be configured to to start the program in question.
- Configuration
- Three aspects of the program can be configured currently: Compiler settings, Run Settings and GUI appearance. The menuitem to do so can be found in the "File" menu. Hitting the apply button in the settings dialog will automatically save the submitted values via java.lang.prefs.Preferences to the system dependent preferences storage.
- Compiler settings
- The commandline arguments to pass to the compiler. By default, the compiler is run without any options. It is not possible to change the compiler except by changing the JDK itself. The compiler that is used is always the default compiler of the JDK, with which JBrownie is run.
- Run settings
- This is simply the program (plus commandline argument) to associate with the "run program" button in the toolbar. By default, no program is set, meaning the button is without function. Once a program is run, it's stdout and stderr stream is redirected to JBrownie's console window.
- GUI settings
- These control the fontsize of the console and whether or not to use horizontal scrollbar for lines, that exceed the width of the window.

Gnome SSH Tunnel Manager 1.2
Gnome SSH Tunnel Manager is a frontend for SSH tunneling. more>>
Gnome SSH Tunnel Manager (gSTM) provides a convenient front-end for the cumbersome ssh commandline.
Tunnel configurations are stored in a simple XML format with support for both local and remote port redirection.
Tunnels can be individually started and stopped from the simple main dialog with the option to add or delete a tunnel or modify its preferences.
An SSH tunnel with port redirection is usefull to access services behind a *nix firewall/router. For example, if you have a Terminal Server (remote desktop) and a MySQL server on your private LAN and want to access them securely from outside, you just open an ssh connection with two port redirections. You can then connect to your localhost which will be redirected over the encrypted tunnel, through the firewall/router, to the remote host.

SendIP 2.5
SendIP is a commandline tool to send arbitrary packets. more>>
SendIP is a command-line tool to send arbitrary IP packets. It has a large number of options to specify the content of every header of a RIP, RIPng, BGP, TCP, UDP, ICMP, or raw IPv4/IPv6 packet.
It also allows any data to be added to the packet. Checksums can be calculated automatically, but if you wish to send out wrong checksums, that is supported too.
Here is a list of protocols that SendIP currently understands:
- IPv4 (but see below section 7)
- TCP
- BGP
- ICMP
- UDP
- RIP
- NTP
- IPv6 (except on solaris)
- ICMPv6
- TCP
- UDP
- RIPng
- NTP?
Other protocols will be added in future versions, as and when I have time to add them.
Of course, it is still possible to send packets using other protocols, but you have to construct the packet data and headers entirely by hand.
Installation
make ; make install should work.
You MUST use GNU make.
On Solaris you need to use gcc-3.x or above, and GNU binutils.
On other platforms, you probably need gcc-2.x or above.
If you have install problems on Solaris, try:
make install INSTALL=/usr/ucb/install
If you cant persuade it to compile or install, mail me with details of what goes wrong, and what system you are trying to install it on.
By this I mean at least:
- output of make -k veryclean all install
- OS, including version
- version of make, gcc, etc
- version of sendip
- anything else you think might be relevant
You can change where it installs by changing BINDIR and/or PREFIX at the top of the Makefile.
A .spec file is included to build RPMS, and source and binary RPMS are also available from the web page. Debian packages are also available, and sendip is included in the FreeBSD ports collection.
Usage
SendIP can take a huge number of commandline parameters. For this reason, future versions may have some sort of user interface...
Please read the man page or sendip -h for details. They are not documented here because they change often between versions and I cant be bothered to keep this up to date.

LinCVS 1.4.4
LinCVS is an easy to use graphical CVS client. more>>
LinCVS is a graphical Interface for the cvs client commandline tool on the Unix, Windows and Mac OS X platform. LinCVS allows to load modules from a server (checkout), create modules on the server (import), as well as checking the state of directories and individual files or updating them.
Basic operations like add, remove and commit are supported as matter of course, just like showing the actual differences between the server version and the local sandbox, graphical display of the version tree, and manifoldy graphical support of project maintenance. All actions are logged on the cvs server (configurable via history), and are therewith comprehensible.
To keep LinCVS independant of the cvs version, LinCVS uses the local but separat installed cvs and therewith always should work with the latest version.
After choosing a startup dir, the project-explorer searches the subdirectories for cvs projects, and displays these on the workbench. Now all functions on one/many files or whole directories can be accessed over pulldown menues or simply a right mouseclick. The state of the individual directories is continuously scanned by LinCVS.
This means the symbol of the dir tells the user that there are for example still uncommited changes somewhere in the depth of a dir hierarchy, even without having opened them yet. So the project state is visualized right after a cvs status call. Completed with on-the-fly dir scanning, LinCVS is qualified for large projects with many thousand files.
Because of the continuous efforts of network administrators, to encrease network security, LinCVS supports all standard cvs connection protocols. Proxy support is also available, this requires a patched cvs. This is of course available on our download page.
Because LinCVS does not affect the cvs internal project maintenance, a concurrent use with cvs commandline is possible. The function of the LinCVS dir state display is not impaired therewith.
Even though LinCVS graphically supports almost the whole cvs range of functions (and is continuously under development;-), it is easy to customize the GUI to the individual needs. Popup menues are freely configurable, while the menues always provide full feature access. An extra toolbar enables direct access to often used features.
In contrast to other programs this one is really easy to use.
Enhancements:
- This version fixes a lot of bugs.
