Osprey provides a peer-to-peer enabled content distribution system.
It is a metadata management system for software and document collections which enables local and distributed searching of materials. Items are available for download directly via an URL or indirectly via the BitTorrent peer-to-peer protocol.
Two components exist: the Osprey Web application and permaseed (permanent seed). The Web application includes metadata management for finding and exploring available content, as well as a BitTorrent tracker.

MantaRay project is an innovative open-source data messaging project that was designed to address the continuously changing structure of todays IT environments. MantaRay uses a new approach ? peer-to-peer serverless architecture ? that allowed its development team to create a solution that is significantly more powerful and more efficient than traditional systems.
Being lightweight and OS-agnostic, MantaRay is ideal for heterogeneous, distributed, high-traffic environments. It is highly scalable, providing much faster performance than traditional messaging systems, such as buses and brokers. MantaRays serverless design can also help IT organizations dramatically reduce hardware and operational costs.

The open-source, OS-independent, standards-based MantaRay solution combines cutting edge technologies such as XML, enterprise-grade communication services, and Service Oriented Architecture. Building on the MantaRay framework, developers can cost-effectively create real-time data messaging solutions that reliably connect applications and provide guaranteed delivery, security and transactions.
As a Java Messenger Service (JMS) provider, MantaRay is written in 100% pure Java, supports JMS 1.x & RMI APIs, provides TCP, UDP & SSL transports, and integrates with WebLogic & WebSphere. MantaRay features publish/subscribe (topic) and point-to-point (queue) messaging services, automatic discovery, persistent/non-persistent and durable messages, and message filtering using selectors.

Cutlass is a cross-platform system for secure peer to peer communication, oriented towards small groups. It provides IM and file transfer. A major design goal is to be easy to use, even by non-security conscious users. The Cutlass main goals are :

Easy enough to use for broad adoption
Coded using widely supported APIs, to be multiplatform
Secure by default, using encrypted channels
Useful for everyday Internet functionality. Transmit sound, files, text.
P2P as independent of central servers/failure points as possible.
Extendable (both in functionality and paranoia)

Cutlass is currently under development. The current version provides message, file and voice transmission, but grouping, directory services and connection forwarding are not yet implemented.

Cutlass was originally named DEFJAM (Distributed, Encrypted File Journalling And Messaging), and was the subject of a presentation at Notacon.

OpenVPN is a full-featured SSL VPN solution which can accomodate a wide range of configurations, including remote access, site-to-site VPNs, WiFi security, and enterprise-scale remote access solutions with load balancing, failover, and fine-grained access-controls (articles) (examples) (security overview) (non-english languages).
OpenVPN implements OSI layer 2 or 3 secure network extension using the industry standard SSL/TLS protocol, supports flexible client authentication methods based on certificates, smart cards, and/or 2-factor authentication, and allows user or group-specific access control policies using firewall rules applied to the VPN virtual interface.
OpenVPN is not a web application proxy and does not operate through a web browser.
Enhancements:
- Fixed regression bug in Win32 installer, introduced in 2.0.1, which incorrectly set OpenVPN service to autostart.
- Dont package source code zip file in Windows installer in order to reduce the size of the installer. The source zip file can always be downloaded separately if needed.
- Fixed bug in route.c in FreeBSD, Darwin, OpenBSD and NetBSD version of get_default_gateway. Allocated socket for route manipulation is never freed so number of mbufs continuously grow and exhaust system resources after a while.
- Fixed bug where "--proto tcp-server --mode p2p --management host port" would cause the management port to not respond until the OpenVPN peer connects.
- Modified pkitool script to be /bin/sh compatible

Scroll Rack is a virtual tabletop on which you can play card games against other people over a network.
Scroll Rack was designed to simulate the Magic: The Gathering (R) game, but it can be expanded to simulate other games.
It supports two-player peer-to-peer mode, and client/server mode for multi-player games and tournaments.
Main features:

- Can download card images from www.wizards.com and display them on the virtual tabletop.
- Clients can connect directly (peer-to-peer) or through a server run by a third party.

- Client/server games support any number of players and watchers.

Net::BitTorrent::PeerPacket is a Parse/Build Peer Packets from BitTorrent.

Net::BitTorrent::PeerPacket handles parsing and building binary data shared between BitTorrent peers. The module optinally exports a single subroutine for building packets and another for parsing packets, as well as, a constant for each packet type defined by BitTorrent.
