CuteMenus Classic provides a rewritten extension based on CuteMenus 0.4.

This is a rewritten extension based on CuteMenus 0.4 so that menus will be iconized not by JavaScript but by CSS. In other words, No JavaScript is Used! Contained icons are either directly taken from or combination of the icons inside CuteMenus 2, Thunderbird default theme, and Firefox default theme.

CuteMenus Classic is dramatically downsized by using icons inside Firefox default theme aggressively in addition to these built-in icons. See the next sentence of "Install Now" below. You will notice its less than 25KB! In spite of the small size, almost all of DEFAULT menuitems will be iconized.

Note that CuteMenus Classic does NOT support any other extensions.

Platypus Wiki 0.5 Pre-alpha

Platypus Wiki 0.5 Pre-alpha

Platypus Wiki provides a semantic Wiki Wiki Web. more>>
Platypus Wiki provides a semantic Wiki Wiki Web.

Platypus Wiki is an enhanced Wiki Wiki Web with ideas taken from Semantic Web. It offers a simple user interface for creating Wiki page plus metadata according to W3C standards.

Weve chosen HTMLarea v3.0rc1 as a WYSIWYG editor for creating content in (X)HTML. We are using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) for presentation, and our intention is to be fully compliant with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines v1.0 with Level AAA. Platypus Wiki lets you set "global" and "local" links. A global link is generated on every page: you just have to specify a word or phrase and the corresponding URL. A local link is similar, but only appears on a specified page.

Another difference from the classical Wiki is the way links are specified in a page: instead of CamelWords, square brackets, etc., we use the convention namespace:pagename; this lets the user write content without worrying about namespace collisions. We also use RDF to represent the page space as a directed labeled graph.

Each node in Platypus Wiki is both a Wiki page and an RDF resource. We are designing a navigation interface to simplify the interaction of users with the system and RDF metadata editing.

AustinSmoke GasTracker 1.0.0

GasTracker will allow you to keep track of your gas mileage and display the results in an easy to read Web site. more>>
AustinSmoke GasTracker script will allow you to keep track of your gas mileage and have the results displayed in an easy to read website.

None of the data is harvested from anywhere on the web but is rather entered manually by the user and for the user.

Currently the program only supports the English system of miles and gallons. Future versions intend to include the metric system as well as conversions between the figures.

If the demand seems to exist, a future version will allow the user to import a CSV file (or something similar). This should satisfy any users who have historically kept up with such data with Excel and other spreadsheets.

Color::Scheme 1.02

Color::Scheme 1.02

Color::Scheme is a module used to generate pleasant color schemes. more>>
Color::Scheme is a module used to generate pleasant color schemes.

This module is a Perl implementation of Color Schemes 2, a color scheme generator. Start by visitng the Color Schemes 2 web site and playing with the colors.

When you want to generate those schemes on the fly, begin using this modoule. The descriptions herein dont make too much sense without actually seeing the colorful results.

Henceforth, paragraphs in quotes denote documentation copied from Color Schemes 2.

"Important note: This tool doesnt use the standard HSV or HSB model (the same HSV/HSB values ie. in Photoshop describe different colors!). The color wheel used here differs from the RGB spectre used on computer screens, its more in accordance with the classical color theory.

This is also why some colors (especially shades of blue) make less bright shades than the basic colors of the RGB-model. In plus, the RGB-model uses red-green-blue as primary colors, but the red-yellow-blue combination is used here.

This deformation also causes incompatibility in color conversions from RGB-values. Therefore, the RGB input (eg. the HTML hex values like #F854A9) is not exact, the conversion is rough and sometimes may produce slightly different color."

Nonpareil 0.78

Nonpareil 0.78

Nonpareil is a calculator microassembler and simulator. more>>
Nonpareil is a microassembler and simulator package for the calculators. It currently supports the HP Classic and Woodstock series. Nonpareil is written in C and uses the GTK+ toolkit.
The Classic series of HP handheld calculators included the following models:
- HP-35 Scientific (Electronic Slide Rule)
- HP-80 Financial
- HP-45 Advanced Scientific
- HP-65 Card Programmable Scientific
- HP-70 Business
- HP-55 Programmable Scientific
The HP-67 is considered by many people to be part of the Classic series since it is packaged similarly to the HP-65, but electrically it is really a Woodstock series machine.
The classic series chip set was also used in the HP-46 and HP-81, which were desktop printing versions of the HP-45 and HP-80, respectively, and the HP 9805A desktop calculator. The same chip set was also used in the HP 1722A Oscilliscope, the HP 3380A Integrator (for Gas Chromatography), and in several HP Gas Chromatographs.
The Woodstock series of HP handheld calculators included the following models:
- HP-21 Scientific
- HP-22 Financial
- HP-25 Programmable Scientific
- HP-25C Programmable Scientific with continuous memory
- HP-27 Scientific and Financial
- HP-29C Programmable Scientific with continuous memory
The code name "Woodstock" referred both to the Woodstock series of calculators, and to the processor architecture use in them. The same processor architecture was also used in the Topcat, Sting, and Spice series, and the HP-67.
Enhancements:
- Build problems that occurred with certain versions of Bison were fixed.
- The need for an X server during the build process was eliminated.

Metapixel 1.0.2

Metapixel 1.0.2

Metapixel is a program for generating photomosaics. more>>
Metapixel is a Photomosaic Generator. It can generate classical photomosaics, in which the source image is viewed as a matrix of equally sized rectangles for each of which a matching image is substitued, as well as collage-style photomosaics, in which rectangular parts of the source image at arbitrary positions (i.e. not aligned to a matrix) are substituted by matching images.
Main features:
- Metapixel generates not only classical mosaics but also collage-style photomosaics (see examples).
- The matching algorithms match not only color but also form.
- Metapixel is fast. It takes about 75 seconds to generate a classical photomosaic for a 2048x2432 image with constituent images of size 64x64 and a database of slightly more than 11000 images on my not-so-fast Alpha. Most of this time is spent loading and saving images.
- Metapixel can generate classical mosaics which contain at most one copy of each constituent image. Alternatively, Metapixel can be instructed to honor a minimum distance between two occurrences of the same image in classical photomosaics.
- Metapixel has a cheat option which overlays the photomosaic with the original image using a user-specified percentage. Small percentages yield noticable improvements but are innocent enough so as not to be noticed without close inspection.
- Metapixel is a command-line program and thus scriptable.
Enhancements:
- This version adds a few minor bugfixes and support for reading GIF and writing JPEG files.

crip 3.7

crip 3.7

crip is a terminal-based ripper/encoder/tagger tool for creating Ogg Vorbis files (or MP3 files for crip 1.X) under Unix/Linux. more>>
crip is a terminal-based ripper/encoder/tagger tool for creating Ogg Vorbis/FLAC/MP3 files under UNIX/Linux. It is well-suited for anyone (especially the perfectionist) who seeks to make a lot of files from CDs and have them all properly labeled and professional-quality with a minimum of hassle and yet still have flexibility and full control over everything. Current versions of crip only support Ogg Vorbis and FLAC. If you want to encode MP3 files you should use crip-1.0.
I am constantly refining the process of creating perfect music files to be as automated as possible while still leaving the user with control over as much as possible. To see for yourself how painless it is to make professional-grade music files on your UNIX/Linux machine, go through the crip tutorial.
This script is special because it is the only one that I know that is capable of doing group vorbisgain/replaygain and/or normalization (adjust the volume to be as loud as possible without clipping/distortion) and group labelling/tagging, which makes it easy to allow a group of tracks to be treated as one piece. It can also trim off the silence at the beginning and end of these tracks/groups.
First the script fetches the CDDB info off the internet. Then it prompts you for the grouping of the tracks. This is important because it will treat each group of tracks as one piece, label and vorbisgain/replaygain and/or normalize them (using the volume gain/peak of that group). Normalization is now obsolete with the creation of vorbisgain (replaygain) utilities, so I have that turned off by default and itll run vorbisgain instead.
You can, of course, have each track be a group by itself (such as what youd want to do with most pop CDs). But since Ive also ripped a lot of Classical music I found it necessary to group tracks differently fairly often.
Then it will prompt you for the Artist and Album info (which is already defaulted to what is pulled from CDDB). Afterwards it will prompt you for a filename for each track you selected. Again this field is defaulted to what it suspects that youd want. For most pop CDs all I have to do is hit enter here because the filename is almost always exactly what Id want.
It will then prompt you that its ready to rip. From here everything is automated, so hit return and it usually finishes in about an hour. The script calls cdparanoia to rip the tracks, and then oggenc/flac/lame to encode them. It also labels the files with info appropriately, including the CDDB CD DiscID number (so you will always have a CD reference hex-number inside your OGG/FLAC/MP3 file).
Ive looked into other scripts out there that do something similar to this script, but decided to write my own since I couldnt find one that groups tracks and trims silence. I used this script to rip and encode my collection of over 200 Bach CDs, as well as a bunch of other Classical and non-Classical CDs very easily.
Ive provided links below that include some of the prerequisites that you may need.
Main features:
- Track grouping for automated tagging and appropriate normalization/vorbisgain on multi-track pieces.
- CDDB fetching to populate default information.
- CDDB submit to update the CDDB database with your more accurate info.
- Automates as much of the tagging as possible for fully-labeled professional quality music files.
- Automatically trims digital silence at the beginning and end of a track/group (if desired).
- European character support. Also European character-mapping support.
- Flexibility and full user control in tagging and file naming.
Enhancements:
- Bugfix: -m flag on the command line was not being processed
