Class::Container is a Perl module with Glues object frameworks together transparently.

SYNOPSIS

package Car;
use Class::Container;
@ISA = qw(Class::Container);

__PACKAGE__->valid_params
(
paint => {default => burgundy},
style => {default => coupe},
windshield => {isa => Glass},
radio => {isa => Audio::Device},
);

__PACKAGE__->contained_objects
(
windshield => Glass::Shatterproof,
wheel => { class => Vehicle::Wheel,
delayed => 1 },
radio => Audio::MP3,
);

sub new {
my $package = shift;

# windshield and radio objects are created automatically by
# SUPER::new()
my $self = $package->SUPER::new(@_);

$self->{right_wheel} = $self->create_delayed_object(wheel);
... do any more initialization here ...
return $self;
}

This class facilitates building frameworks of several classes that inter-operate. It was first designed and built for HTML::Mason, in which the Compiler, Lexer, Interpreter, Resolver, Component, Buffer, and several other objects must create each other transparently, passing the appropriate parameters to the right class, possibly substituting other subclasses for any of these objects.

The main features of Class::Container are:

Explicit declaration of containment relationships (aggregation, factory creation, etc.)
Declaration of constructor parameters accepted by each member in a class framework
Transparent passing of constructor parameters to the class that needs them
Ability to create one (automatic) or many (manual) contained objects automatically and transparently

Class::Accessor::Fast::Contained 0.05

Class::Accessor::Fast::Contained 0.05

Class::Accessor::Fast::Contained is a Perl module for fast accessors with data containment. more>>
Class::Accessor::Fast::Contained is a Perl module for fast accessors with data containment.

SYNOPSIS

package Foo;
use base qw(Class::Accessor::Fast::Contained);

# The rest is the same as Class::Accessor::Fast

This module does two things differently to the venerable Class::Accessor::Fast :

Fields are stored at arms-length within a single hash value of $self, rather than directly in the $self blessed referent.
new() allows mixin into an existing object, rather than creating and returning a new blessed hashref. To do this, just call something like:

my $self = Some::Other::Class->new;
$self = $self->Class::Accessor::Fast::Contained::new;

Note that the mixin code only supports objects which use a blessed hash reference or a blessed typeglob reference.
An alias setup() is available which does the same as new() but might make more sense if being used in this way.

C++ Foundation Classes 0.1.4

C++ Foundation Classes 0.1.4

C++ Foundation Classes package contains a Fully Overloaded String object that works with other classes. more>>
The C++ Foundation Classes package contains a Fully Overloaded String object that works with other classes (even those not owned by CFC), a full (template) Matrix and Vector Object, some Data types like DateTime, Boolean, Integer, Real, and Complex, and Sets, Stack, Queues, etc. C++ Foundation Classes also has an LL-type Parser and Scanner for lexical reading.

Installation:

The simplest way to compile this package is:

1. `cd to the directory containing the packages source code and type `./configure to configure the package for your system. If youre using `csh on an old version of System V, you might need to type `sh ./configure instead to prevent `csh from trying to execute `configure itself.

Running `configure takes awhile. While running, it prints some messages telling which features it is checking for.

2. Type `make to compile the package.

3. Optionally, type `make check to run any self-tests that come with the package.

4. Type `make install to install the programs and any data files and documentation.

5. You can remove the program binaries and object files from the source code directory by typing `make clean. To also remove the files that `configure created (so you can compile the package for a different kind of computer), type `make distclean. There is also a `make maintainer-clean target, but that is intended mainly for the packages developers. If you use it, you may have to get all sorts of other programs in order to regenerate files that came with the distribution.

Class::Classless 1.35

Class::Classless 1.35

Class::Classless is a Perl framework for classless OOP. more>>
Class::Classless is a Perl framework for classless OOP.

SYNOPSIS

$ob1->{NAME} = Ob1;
$ob1->{stuff} = 123;
$ob1->{Thing} = 789;

my $ob2 = $ob1->clone;
$ob2->{NAME} = Ob2;

printf "ob1 stuff: n", $ob1->{stuff};

print "Zaz! on ", $_[0]{NAME}, "n";
};

$ob1->zaz;
$ob2->zaz;
$ob1->EXAMINE;
$ob2->EXAMINE;
This prints the following:
ob1 stuff: < 123 >
ob2 stuff: < 123 >
ob1 Thing: < 789 >
ob2 Thing: < >
Zaz! on Ob1
Zaz! on Ob2
< Class::Classless::X=HASH(0x200236f4) >
stuff, 123,
NAME, Ob1,
Thing, 789,
METHODS, { zaz, CODE(0x20068360) },
PARENTS, [ ROOT ],
< Class::Classless::X=HASH(0x2002cb48) >
stuff, 123,
NAME, Ob2,
METHODS, { },
PARENTS, [ Ob1 ],

In class-based OOP frameworks, methods are applicable to objects by virtue of objects belonging to classes that either provide those methods, or inherit them from classes that do.

In classless OOP frameworks (AKA delegation-and-prototypes frameworks), what methods an object is capable of is basically an attribute of that object. That is, in Perl terms: instead of methods being entries in the symbol table of the package/class the object belongs to, they are entries in a hash table inside the object. Inheritance is implemented not by having classes inheriting from other classes (via ISA lists), but by having objects inherit from other objects (via PARENTS lists).

In class-based OOP frameworks, you get new objects by calling constructors. In a classless framework, you get new objects by copying ("cloning") an existing object -- and the new clone becomes a child (inheritor) of the original object. (Where do you get the one original object? The language provides one, which has no parents, and which contains some general purpose methods like "clone".)

- On XEmacs, Use efc-xemacs-query-options, i.e., a GUI dialog box instead of a text dialog box, only if use-dialog-box is nonnil.
- Fixes bug in ProjectClasses to avoid duplicate entries of imports.
- Updated JDEEs Ant interface to force use of pipes to interact with external Ant process.
- Fixed regression that caused jde-help-class-member to issue a Lisp error.
- Fixed regression in jde-wiz-update-class-list command.
- Fixed regression that caused JDEbug to issue a Lisp error when launching an application.
- Thanks to Martin Schwamberger.
- Revise the following templates to conform to CheckStyle requirements:
- jde-gen-deep-clone-template
- jde-gen-to-string-method-template
- jde-gen-bean-template
- Thanks to Martin Schwamberger.
- Added the following code generation templates:
- jde-gen-exception
- Generates an exception class in the current buffer.
- jde-gen-exception-buffer
- Generates a buffer containing an exception class.
- jde-gen-hashcode-method
- Generates a hashcode method at point.
- jde-gen-equals-method
- Generates an equals method at point.
- jde-gen-tostring-method
- Generates a toString method that uses Apaches
- ToStringBuilder class.
- Thanks to Ole Arndt.
- Enhanced jde-run-option-classpath to allow you to specify that the JDEE should omit the classpath argument when running the class or application in the current buffer, regardless of the setting of jde-global-classpath.
- Fixed regression that caused the JDEE to switch projects during debugging when stepping into code that does not belong to the project being debugged.
- Updated regular expressions used by the JDEEs interface to jdb to accommodate non-English punctuation styles for numeric expressions in debugger messages, e.g.,
- 1.200 for a line number where the English would write 1,200.
- Thanks to Morten B. Isaksen.
- In previous releases, building javadoc caused all future uses of compilation mode to try to
- display the javadoc. This release fixes the problem.
- Thanks to David Evers.
- Updated the submit-problem-report command to include an XEmacs users init.el file.

Class::IntrospectionMethods 1.003

Class::IntrospectionMethods 1.003

Class::IntrospectionMethods is a Perl module that creates methods with introspection. more>>
Class::IntrospectionMethods is a Perl module that creates methods with introspection.

SYNOPSIS

use Class::IntrospectionMethods qw/make_methods/;

make_methods
(
parent,
global_catalog =>
{
name => metacat,
list =>
[
[qw/foo/] => f_cat,
[qw/bar baz/] => b_cat,
],
}
new_with_init => new,
get_set => [ qw /foo bar baz / ];
) ;

This module provides:
A way to set up a lot of get/set method. These get/set methods can access plain scalars, array, hash. These scalar, hash or array can be tied (See perltie) with classes specified by the user. The element of these arrays or hashes can be constrained to be object, tied scalar.
A way to later query the object or class to retrieve the list of methods (aka slots) created by this module.

A way to organize these slots in several catalogs.
When a slot contains object or tied scalars hashes or arrays, the contained object can be queried for the container object. In other words, the parent object (the one constructed by Class::IntrospectionMethods contains a child object in one of its slots either as a plain object or an object hidden behind a tied construct. Class::IntrospectionMethods will provide the child object a method to retrieve the parent object reference.

For instance, you can use this module to create a tree where each node or leaf is an object. In this case, this module provides methods to navigate up the tree of objects with the installed "parent" method.

In other words, this module provides special methods to enable the user to navigate up or down a tree (or directed graph) using introspection (to go down) and the "parent" method to go up.

You may notice similarities between this module and Class::MethodMaker. In fact this module was written from Class::MethodMaker v1.08, but it does not provide most of the fancy methods of Class::MethodMaker. Only scalar, array and hash accessors (with their tied and objects variants) are provided.

Originally, the introspection and "parent" functionalities were implemented in Class::MethodMaker. Unfortunately, they were not accepted by Class::MethodMakers author since they did not fit his own vision of his module (fair enough).
The old API of Class::MethodMaker is provided as deprecated methods. Using the new (and hopefully more consistent) API is prefered.

Class::IntrospectionMethods::Catalog 1.003

Class::IntrospectionMethods::Catalog 1.003

Class::IntrospectionMethods::Catalog can manage catalogs from IntrospectionMethods. more>>
Class::IntrospectionMethods::Catalog can manage catalogs from IntrospectionMethods.

Exported functions

set_method_info( target_class, method_name, info_ref )

Store construction info for method method_name of class target_class.

set_global_catalog (target_class, ...)

Store catalog informations. The first parameter is the class featuring the methods declared in the global catalog.

Following paramaters is a set of named paramaters (e.g. key => value):

name

Mandatory name for the global catalog

list

array ref containing the list of slot and catalog. E.g.:

list => [
[qw/foo bar baz/] => foo_catalog,
[qw/a b z/] => alpha_catalog,
my_object => my_catalog
],
isa

Optional hash ref declaring a containment for catalog. E.g:

list => [ foo => USER ,
admin => ROOT ],
isa => { USER => ROOT }

Then the ROOT catalog will return foo, and the USER catalog will return foo and admin.

help

Optional hash ref (slot_name => help). Store some help information for each slot.

set_global_catalog will construct:

A ClassCatalog object containing the global catalog informations.

A sub_ref containing the ClassCatalog object in a closure.

Returns ( slot_name, sub_ref ). The sub_ref is to be installed in the target class.

When called as a class method, the subref will return the ClassCatalog object. When called as a target class method, the subref will return an ObjectCatalog object associated to the ClassCatalog object stored in the closure.

These 2 object have the same API. ObjectCatalog is used to contain catalog changes that may occur at run-time. ClassCatalog informations will not change.

Perl6::Classes allows the creation of (somewhat) Perl 6-style classes in Perl 5. The following features are currently supported:

subs, methods, and submethods
And their respective scoping rules.

Attributes
Which are available through the has keyword, and look like $.this.

Inheritance
Both single and multiple inheritance are available through the is keyword.

Signatures
Signatures on methods, subs, and submethods are supported, but just the Perl 5 kind.

Data hiding
Using the public, protected, and private traits, you can enforce (run-time) data hiding. This is not supported on attributes, which are always private.

Anonymous classes
That respect closures. You can now nest them inside methods of other classes, even other anonymous ones!

The Perl6::Classes module augments Perls syntax with a new declarator: class. It offers the advantage over Perls standard OO mechanism that it is conceptually easier to see (especially for those from a C++/Java background). It offers the disadvantage, of course, of being less versatile.

SYNOPSIS

my $sth = Class::DBI::Query

This abstracts away many of the details of the Class::DBI underlying SQL mechanism. For the most part you probably dont want to be interfacing directly with this.

The underlying mechanisms are not yet stable, and are subject to change at any time.
