HP3300c SANE backend 20050128
HP3300c SANE backend is a Linux SANE backend for the HP3300c USB color scanner. more>>
HP3300c SANE backend is a Linux SANE backend for the HP3300c USB color scanner.
Support for other scanners with very similar chipsets, like the HP3400c, HP4300c and the Agfa Touch is also planned.
The HP3300C is an USB color scanner. It is externally powered. On the front is has two buttons that can trigger the scanner software to make either a scan or a copy. It has a horizontal resolution of 600 DPI (5300 pixels) and a vertical resolution of 1200 lines per inch.
It has the following chipset:
- NIPEDC0804, two rows of 20 pins along bottom and top edge. It has a 12.000 MHz crystal mounted close to it. This chip was mentioned as an interface chip on an electronics web page. The pinout of this chip is very similar to the Genesys Logic GL640USB chip (datasheet available).
- KM2Q65R, T224162B-28J, 100 Mhz, a 256k x 16 EDO DRAM chip from Taiwan - Memory Technology (TMTech) (datasheet available). The HP3400C has a EliteMT 100 MHz M11B416256A, also a 256k x 16 DRAM chip.
- ESIC ES8100QA, pins on all four sides, the analog-front-end. Also the Wolfson Micro WM8143 (datasheet available) has been reported. These two chips seem to be completely compatible.
- NIASH00014, pins on all four sides, 100 in total. This is the main controller IC. It has a 20.000 MHz crystal on pins 61 and 62. Two HP3400c scanners have been reported to contain a NIASH00019 chip.
Enhancements:
- Added device and company ID for Silitek derivate
- updated testtool_xfer.c

Bio::Affymetrix::CDF 0.5
Bio::Affymetrix::CDF is a Perl module to parse Affymetrix CDF files. more>>
Bio::Affymetrix::CDF is a Perl module to parse Affymetrix CDF files.
SYNOPSIS
use Bio::Affymetrix::CDF;
# Parse the CDF file
my $cdf=new Bio::Affymetrix::CDF({"probemode"=>0});
$cdf->parse_from_file("foo.cdf");
# Find some fun facts about this chip type
print $cdf->rows().",".$cdf->cols()."n";
print $cdf->version()."n";
# Print out all of the probeset names on this chip type
foreach my $i (keys %{$chp->probesets}) { print $chp->probesets->{$i}->name()."n"; }
The Affymetrix microarray system produces files in a variety of formats. If this means nothing to you, these modules are probably not for you :). This module parses CDF files. Use this module if you want to find out about the design of an Affymetrix GeneChip, or you need the object for another one of the modules in this package.
All of the Bio::Affymetrix modules parse a file entirely into memory. You therefore need enough memory to hold these objects. For some applications, parsing as a stream may be more appropriate- hopefully the source to these modules will give enough clues to make this an easy task. This module in particular takes a lot of memory if probe information is also stored (about 150Mb). Memory usage is not too onorous (about 15Mb) if probe level information is omitted. You can.control this by setting probemode=>1 or probemode=>0 in the constructor.
You can also use these modules to write CDF files (using the write_to_filehandle method). See COMPATIBILITY for some important caveats.

FreeSynd is a cross-platform, GPLed reimplementation of the classic Bullfrog game, Syndicate.
As the worlds multinational corporations grew, their profits began to rival those of small countries. Soon they owned small countries and corporate influence was felt at the highest level of world government. Smaller corporations were swallowed up like plankton in the wake of three behemoth mega-corporations, one U.S.-based, one Europe-based and one based in the Far East. These became the only effective world government, unelected, undemocratic, but controlling the lives of the people through commerce.
Then the European corporation perfected the CHIP. Inserted in the neck, the CHIP stimulated the brain stem to alter your every perception of the outside world. Better than any drug, the CHIP gave hope to millions by numbing their senses to the misery and squalor around them. One CHIP would convince users that the sun shone and the birds sang even as they walked through the constant acid rain drizzle. Another that they were glamorous or handsome - theyd look in the mirror and see a different face - while the rest of the world would see them as they really were.
The CHIP was a technological revolution and sold countless units with the slogan "Why change your world when you can change your mind". It also left the user open to auto-suggestion and gave the corporations the perfect tool for manipulating the populace.
Like any new and potent drug, control of the CHIP meant control of the people. Soon the corporations were at war among themselves, desperate to monopolize CHIP manufacture. But the corporations thirst for power left them open to infiltration.
With money earned through pirating CHIP technology, crime Syndicates bribed and murdered their way into corporation boardrooms. It wasnt long before the Syndicates became the controlling force all over the globe, with a finger in the pie of every transaction, criminal or otherwise, worldwide.
And in the crime Syndicates of tomorrow those in control dont need uzis for back up. Teams of custom-built cyborg agents hunt down rivals and traitors, and spread the influence of the Syndicates across the globe.
Enhancements:
This release boasts the following:
- The first level is "playable".
- Most of the menus are complete and functional.
- Sound and music are operational.
Known issues with this release:
- Agent AI is different from the original game.
- No trees the map.
- The minimap is not complete.
- Tax collection and other functionality of the world map are not done.

Greensocs 2007.03-1 (GSPM)
Greensocs is a development kit for producing systems on a chip using SystemC. more>>
Greensocs project is a development kit for producing systems on a chip using SystemC (a C++ derivative) as opposed to Verilog or VHDL.
GreenSocs mission is to encourage SystemC to be used by designers. It will do this by engineering SystemC infrastructure to compliment the capabilities developed by OSCI and commercial EDA providers, promoting and utilising academic research. The aim is to extend the use and applicability of SystemC, by co-ordinating and promoting collaboratively developed models, methods and utilities, prioritised by designers needs.
The principle benefits are:
- To lower infrastructure development, training and adoption costs.
- To enable higher degrees of IP reuse and interchange.
- To enable EDA companies to build tools in support of the standards.
GreenSocs runs a SourceForge project called the GreenSocs project. Its aims are to develop SystemC infrastructure, basic IP, patches and add on library code for eventual standardisation. The GreenSocs project is made up of a number of contributions (sub projects).
In order to facilitate the use of SystemC and the infrastructure, patches and extensions that GreenSocs develops, pre-built binary packages including all of the stable GreenSocs patches and basic building blocks are available from the downloads area.
Enhancements:
- Assorted minor updates and bugfixes.
