Domino Blast 0.1
Domino Blast project is a physics-based driving/demolition game with a childrens toys theme. more>>
Domino Blast project is a physics-based driving/demolition game with a childrens toys theme.
Domino Blast is a hybrid driving and destruction game with a childrens toys theme. Its environments consist of buildings constructed from domino tiles and a player-controllable toy car. The objective of the game is to wreak as much havoc as possible, within a time limit.
Its game-play is simplistic yet satisfying; similar to the satisfaction gained from watching a tumbling Jenga tower, except the objective is to tumble the tower, rather than slowly deconstruct it. As the game progresses, levels become more dense and the buildings that inhabit them become larger and more complex.

Apache::Cache 0.05
Apache::Cache is a cache data accessible between Apache childrens. more>>
Apache::Cache is a cache data accessible between Apache childrens.
SYNOPSIS
use Apache::Cache qw(:status);
my $cache = new Apache::Cache(default_expires_in=>"5 minutes");
# if the if the next line is called within 10 minutes, then this
# will return the cache value overwise, this will return undef and the
# status method will be equal to the constant EXPIRED (exported by Apache::Cache
# on demande via the :status tag)
# the next line try to get the data from the cache, if the data is stored in
# in the cache and if it not expired, then this return the data. Otherwise
# if data have never been store in the cache, or if its expired, this will
# return undef and the status() method will be equal to constant EXPIRED (exported
# by Apache::Cache on demand, via the :status tag)
my $value = $cache->get(Key);
if($cache->status eq EXPIRED)
{
# cant get the data from the cache, we will need to get it by the normal way
# (via database, from file...)
$value = get_my_data(Key); # here, the get_my_data() function is a function of your
# programe that generate a fresh value
# this data have to expires in 30 secondes
my $expires_in = 30 secondes;
$cache->set(Key => $value, $expires_in);
}
elsif($cache->status eq FAILURE)
{
# dont use cache, cache maybe busy by another child or something goes wrong
$value = get_my_data(Key);
}
This module allows you to cache data easily through shared memory. Whithin the framework of an apache/mod_perl use, this cache is accessible from any child process. The data validity is managed in the Cache::Cache model, but as well based on time than on size or number of keys.
Additionnally, you can implement a cache with Apache::Cache in your module without the risk of namespace clash because Apache::Cache is enclosed in the constructors packages caller (see Apache::SharedMem for more details).

The Linux Memory Game 0.6c
The Linux Memory Game project is a childrens (and adults) game based on the card game. more>>
The Linux Memory Game project is a childrens (and adults) game based on the card game.
The Linux Memory Game is an X11 game using GTK+ library for children ages 3 and up. It is a lot more than the card game "Memory".
It has five skill levels, the higher ones are challenging to adults as well. Additionally, one can choose from the menu to match 2 cards or 3 cards, or match different cards.
This last "different card" mode can be a very good teaching tool for teaching languages, concepts, or association.
Main features:
- Extensible - add new images yourself without having to make changes to the program.
- Five skill levels appropriate for the youngest and the ones with the best brains.
- Can play two card matching or three card matching (more challenging!)
- Can set to match different cards. This can be used with apropriately designed pictures to teach children (or adults) words, concepts, or another language.
Enhancements:
- Fixed overflow bug in pixmaps_jump.

HAproxy 1.3.12
HAproxy is a high performance Web load balancer. more>>
HA-Proxy is a TCP/HTTP reverse proxy which is particularly suited for high
availability environments. Indeed, it can :
- route HTTP requests depending on statically assigned cookies ;
- spread the load among several servers while assuring server persistence through the use of HTTP cookies ;
- switch to backup servers in the event a main one fails ;
- accept connections to special ports dedicated to service monitoring ;
- stop accepting connections without breaking existing ones ;
- add/modify/delete HTTP headers both ways ;
- block requests matching a particular pattern ;
It needs very little resource. HAproxy it is event-driven architecture allows it to easily
handle thousands of simultaneous connections on hundreds of instances without risking the systems stability.
Start parameters
There are only a few command line options :
-f < configuration file >
-n < high limit for the total number of simultaneous connections >
-N < high limit for the per-proxy number of simultaneous connections >
-d starts in foregreound with debugging mode enabled
-D starts in daemon mode
-q disable messages on output
-V displays messages on output even when -q or quiet are specified.
-c only checks config file and exits with code 0 if no error was found, or exits with code 1 if a syntax error was found.
-p < pidfile > asks the process to write down each of its childrens pids to this file in daemon mode.
-s shows statistics (only if compiled in)
-l shows even more statistics (implies -s)
The maximal number of connections per proxy is used as the default parameter for each instance for which the maxconn paramter is not set in the listen section.
The maximal number of total connections limits the number of connections used by the whole process if the maxconn parameter is not set in the global section.
The debugging mode has the same effect as the debug option in the global section. When the proxy runs in this mode, it dumps every connections, disconnections, timestamps, and HTTP headers to stdout. This should NEVER be used in an init script since it will prevent the system from starting up.
Statistics are only available if compiled in with the STATTIME option. Its only used during code optimization phases.
Enhancements:
- Content switching is now fully operational using ACLs.
- ACLs can look for matches in path and headers in addition to previously supported criteria.
- Integer comparison is now supported for header values. 15 pre-defined ACLs are provided.
- Error pages can be customized using external files.
- Several bugs have been fixed.
- This version will be maintained as a stable one during further development.

tictactoe 1.2.1
tictactoe project is an implementation of the childrens game. more>>
tictactoe project is an implementation of the childrens game.
This implementation of tictactoe can have an NxN sized board, where N is an odd number >= 3.
What makes this implementation different from others is that it does not use lookahead, and still never loses. It is more of an experiment than anything else.
There are two pieces - X and O. O always plays first. There are no real rules to this game, except that the first person to complete a line (row, column or diagonal) from one end to the other is the winner. Diagonals MUST pass through the centre.
The size of the board is configured at compile time by setting the SIZE macro. Only odd sized boards (3, 5, 7) will work. Dont even bother with even sized boards, I dont know what will happen.
Whats so different about this implementation? Well, it doesnt use lookahead like most other implementations would. It basically places its piece on all available positions, and checks if the board arrangement `looks good or not. It picks the best looking option.
This implementation should never lose, on any board >= 3X3, although it has been known to win on occassion.
The system is based on six rules that I will document later, but can be found in the source. The first two - win if possible, and block if opponent can win may be removed in a future version if the other rules seem to cover them.
Enhancements:
- Fixed one more losing case. Thanks to Philipp Niemann.

TappyTux 2.2.0-17
TappyTux is a childrens educational games suite. more>>
TappyTux is a childrens educational games suite. TappyTux originally started as a childrens typing tutor, but it has evolved a modular architecture which allows many types of educational games to be played on the same engine. It has been highly optimized for use on remote displays.
The game is Free Software, and all the artwork and sound are under GPL compatible creative-commons licenses.
It is fun and addictive, and although it is meant for children, many adults have told me they Love it too. Version 2 takes it to the next level however, the interface and game code had a massive overhaul, sound and music support was improved and the game was modularised to allow many different game types to be played on the same engine.
The current version ships with two modules, tappywords (a typing tutor) and tappymath (an algebra game). Writing new modules is really easy so even a beginner programmer could add more.
The game is designed to work well in a thin-client lab, and as of this release, is based on GTK2, improving not just the look and feel but also the internationalisation support.
Enhancements:
- Fixed text layout bug.
- Halved game-speeds based on feedback from teachers.
- Merged tappywords into main tappytux codebase for performance reasons maintaing full module compatiblity for other modules.
- Added Itallian Wordlist provided by DidaTux project
- Refresh Score+Levels on "Play Again" fixed
- Added score bonus if you choose a higher starting level
- Game made scalable to work well on multiple resolutions
- SoundFX+Music clash bug fixed
- Font support in snowmen now at 28pt size colourized
- More realistic level speed-ups
- Changed "Unpause" to "Play"
- Improved launcher layout
- Delete wordlist option added to wordeditor
- New sound effect on 1-up
- The game is now faster and more resource friendly
- Better user-interaction
- Unified binary
- Improved internationalization support
- Module evolutions
