CFPlus 0.95
CFPlus is a modern client for Crossfire+ and Crossfire MMORPG game servers. more>>
CFPlus is a modern client for Crossfire+ and Crossfire MMORPG game servers.
It offers a large map, an elaborate menu and help system, dialog-based character setup, and an innovative command completer and macros, and supports all CF+ extensions: dialog-based NPC interaction, enhanced map protocol (health and dialogue information), and the graphical minimap.
It is based on Perl, SDL, and OpenGL for high performance on modern systems, and works on both Unix and Windows. Ports to other platforms should be very easy and are underway.
Main features:
- Death is not permanent, and you can get back all lost stats and experience by playing a game in a special place named Nimbus. You are teleported there when you die and you have to play a game (currently minesweeper) to get out.
- Friendly fire is disabled and playerkilling is also modified. You can only kill another player when you and the other player are hostile. To become hostile, you have to visit the church of Gorokh in Scorn and talk to the priest. To become peaceful again, visit the curch of Valriel and talk to its priest.
- Invitation of other players to where you are is possible with the invite command. You have to solve the invitor quest (see below in maps) to be able to use the command.
- You can follow other players with the follow command when you stand next to the player you want to follow.
- Pet monsters and summoned creatures will not stand in the way of other party members, making it bearable to play with summoning skills in a party.
- Map and graphics artists are working on improved graphics and new maps and quests.
- A new currency: the Royalty. Its worth 100 Platinum and is made of paper. (The bank script was completly rewritten in Perl)
- The communication commands have been rewritten in Perl and an ignore command was added.
- Trade shops have been implemented in Perl, which allows the player to trade items when they are offline.

Drums++ 0.95
Drums++ is a programming language I designed for sequencing music through drum machines. more>>
Drums++ is a programming language I designed for sequencing music through drum machines. Drums++ program uses simple C ideas, for example // and /* */ comments and { } to seperate sections. I tried to make it as simple as possible so even a non-programmer could use it. See the docs section for more info on the language. Drums++ can both directly control your MIDI device or it can create .midi files which can be played through programs such as Microsoft Media Player.
So you might wonder why I chose to do drum sequencing this way? Well, about 10 years ago I used to write drum sequences for my music using a program on my Amiga 500 called Dynamic Drums. Dynamic Drums is probably not a very powerful drum sequencing program, but it was so easy to use. I could write an entire song on that in about 10 minutes. The problem was the samples were very cheesy.
So anyway, a few years ago my friend Jeff Blevins sold me his old Dr. Rhythm drum machine, which had much better sounds, but it was so hard to write a song. I tried downloading some MIDI programs for Linux, but they were too complicated for an idiot like me. So I decided to write my own MIDI sequencing program strictly for drums :). I figured a GUI would take me longer to write than a parser for a new programming language, so this is why I chose to make Drums++. Eventually I plan to write a GUI in either Java or GTK/C.
Drums++ is based on the features of Dynamic Drums, the only difference is you dont click on a grid for where you want your beats, you type them in a text file. Eventually I might add new features to the language if they are requested.
Enhancements:
- I added the ability to select midi channels. In version 0.94 and below, Drums++ used only midi channel 9 (which was the drum sounds naturally). In version 0.95 and above you have the option to use other midi channels allowing you to use other instruments (pianos, guitars, etc).

NLog 0.95
NLog is a .NET logging library designed with simplicity and flexibility in mind. more>>
NLog is a .NET logging library. NLog is designed with simplicity and flexibility in mind. With NLog you can process diagnostic messages emitted from any .NET language, augment them with contextual information, format them according to your preference and send them to one or more targets.
The API (application programming interface) is similar to log4net, and the configuration is very simple. NLog uses a routing table while log4net uses a logger hierarchy with attachable appenders. This makes NLogs configuration very easy to read and maintain.
NLog supports .NET, C/C++ and COM interop API so that all your application components including legacy modules written in C++/COM can send their messages through a common log routing engine.
The .NET API is very fast at filtering messages, so that you can keep your logging instructions in code and let NLog filter them out at runtime. NLog can filter out as many as 150 million logging instructions per second on a single-CPU 1.6 GHz laptop. Add that to asynchronous processing and other wrappers and youll get a very powerful and scalable logging tool.
Enhancements:
- This release adds a new Trace level, which is more verbose than the Debug level.
- It adds a new conditions language that lets you write powerful filtering conditions while keeping the syntax natural and readable.
- It adds a global log threshold and configurability at the config level.
- It adds support for variables in configuration files.
- It adds an infrastructure for compound targets and wrapper targets.
- It adds detailed documentation with examples for many targets, both on the Web site and in the help file.

OODoc 0.95
OODoc is an Object Oriented documentation generator. more>>
OODoc is an Object Oriented documentation generator.
SYNOPSIS
use OODoc;
my $doc = OODoc->new(distribution => My Name, version => 0.02);
$doc->processFiles(workdir => $dest);
$doc->prepare;
$doc->create(pod, workdir => $dest);
$doc->create(html, workdir => /tmp/html);
OODoc stands for "Object Oriented Documentation": to produce manual-pages in HTML or the usual man-page UNIX format, describing Perl programs. The OO part refers to two things: this module simplifies writing documentation for Object Oriented programs, and at the same time, it is Object Oriented itself: easily extensible.
OODoc has been used for small and for very large modules. It can also be used to integrate manual-pages from many modules into one homogeneous set.
The documentation syntax can be changed, by configuring the parser or adding a new one. The OODoc::Parser::Markov parser understands POD and has additional logical markup tags. See OODoc::Parser about what each parser needs to support.
The output is produced by formatters. The current implementation contains two POD formatters and one HTML formatter. See OODoc::Format.
Do not forget to read the DETAILS section, later on this manual-page to get started. Please contribute ideas. Have a look at the main website of this project at http://perl.overmeer.net/oodoc/. That is also an example of the produced output.

Lesstif 0.95.0
Lesstif is LGPLd re-implementation of Motif. more>>
LessTif is the Hungry Programmers version of OSF/Motif. Lesstif aims to be source compatible meaning that the same source code should compile with both and work exactly the same!
Most Motif apps should compile and run out of the box.
Enhancements:
- Implement XmStringGenerate() and XmStringParseText() somewhat better.
- Fix an initialisation problem with RenderTables which caused colour settings to fail in some circumstances.
- Fix a bug that caused XmTextField to overwrite its border.
- Remove a couple of fprintf statements saying "Yow"
- Fix freetype installation check which appears to require #include < ft2built.h >.
- Fix the build so it wont override defaults from libtool (bug #1331548).
- Bug #1312056 add an #include for Solaris on x86.
- Fix compile error in TextOut.c when compiling with Xft.
- RPM specfile syntax has renamed Copyright into License.
- Patch by Eric Branlund for _MOTIF_DRAG_TARGETS on x86_64.
- Patches by Winfried to fix warnings detected with GCC 4.

fakehermes 0.95
fakehermes is a companion program to hermes that implements a fake (and very simple) SMTP server. more>>
fakehermes project is a companion program to hermes that implements a fake (and very simple) SMTP server.
Why would I want to run a fake SMTP server?
The main use of fakehermes is to configure it as a secondary MX server. Some spammers will try to send spam directly to your least prefered SMTP server, because some secondary SMTP servers are badly configured and will relay spam to the main SMTP server without any check.
Placing fakehermes as a secondary SMTP server will receive (but not proccess) those spammers connections. Legitimate connections will retry sooner or later on the main SMTP server.
fakehermes will also log all attempts to send email through it with a very detailed log that will log not only who sent the email but also what tricks did they try to send it.
fakehermes does NOT implement a full SMTP server. It will NOT deliver ANY mail, so DO NOT try to use it as your main SMTP server.

inline_smtp 0.95
The inline_smtp perl script was created to allow filtering of incoming mail. more>>
The inline_smtp perl script was created to allow filtering of incoming mail on a separate server that houses the mailspools without running a full blown MTA. While its possible to configure another MTA, e.g. postfix, to relay all mail to a smart host and do filtering through postfix, the queue can get behind easily, and on a busy host thousands of messages can get queued in a few hours causing delays in delivery from a few minutes to several hours. Because its filtering while redirecting, mail arrives as fast as if it were coming directly to the final mail server because its relayed as the message is received.
inline_smtp works by accepting connections and relaying the conversation to the maildrop host as it takes place, so any 550 messages pass through instantly instead of getting the 550 on the relay server then having to process a bounce, which also fills the queue. inline_smtp understands enough of the smtp protocol to filter on rctp to: addresses and to process the mail body, optionally running it through a filter.
