A GTK+ gui for cdrecord and mkisofs aimed at being easy to use for inexeperienced users.
CD-Mason is yet another GUI frontend for cdrecord and mkisofs. It tries to make CD burning on Linux and other POSIX platforms as easy as possible.
It has been designed with novice desktop users in mind (think Aunt Tillie) that dont want to know about burning modes, sector sizes, ISO-9660 images or even the difference between an MP3 and a WAV music file.
All these subtleties should be handled transparently using a simple dragndrop interface.

rate it! 0.7
rate it! script helps you rate your music easily. more>>
rate it! script helps you rate your music easily, it works like that: each time track changes, the script checks whether the last track has been rated before, if not, it pops up a menu with ratings for you to pick from and then sets the rating for the last track accordingly.
Note that the ratings wont appear instantly on the amarok playlist entries , as the script updates the database directly and the existing playlist entries use cached information, so they dont get updated.

RateXCalc 0.1
RateXCalc is a simple tool for audio/video streams and media size/length cross calculation. more>>
RateXCalc is a simple tool for audio/video streams and media size/length cross calculation.
With RateXCalc you can:
- Evaluate the maximum video rate for a perfect fit in different media
- Calculate the final production size for a given movie length and a/v rates
- Jog the video rate with a slider and see the subsequent fit for a given media type
Examples:
1. I have to know the best audio or video bitrate for a given movie (length). Ill lock the audio or the video variable and let the program calculates these values selecting the amount of CD or other media that I intend to use.
2. I want to lock the media variable: changing the other variables the program will let me know how many CD I must use and the percentile fit of the CD or the last one (if more than one).
So I can define the time, choose a preferred audio bitrate and play with the video bitrate slider to get an optimized distribution of data on the x CDs.

CD Shell 2.1.6
CD Shell is a bootable CD or DVD console interface and script interpreter. more>>
CD Shell is a scriptable menu system that provides the ability to create interactive multi-boot optical discs. It will make PC-bootable compact discs or DVDs that can select from several program loaders or kernels located on the disc, or boot from other local disk drives that are attached to the system.
This utility is based heavily on concepts pioneered by Bart Lagerweij in his great program Diskem1x. CD Shell provides similar functionality to Diskem1x along with many new original features, such as an advanced scripting language, graphics, and mouse support. It also has the ability to interface with other great programs such as isolinux/memdisk, Ranish Partition Manager, and Memtest86+.
CD Shell is free for non-commercial use. The program and its source code is distributed under the NASM License. The distribution and use of some optional components is restricted by their respective licenses.
Enhancements:
- changed behavior of display.message to interpret a backslash as a single-character quote if not recognized as an escape sequence (suggested by Erwin Veermans of the Ultimate Boot CD project)
- isolinux patches as suggested by Charles Appel of the Ultimage Boot CD project
- patched a bug in isolinux that would display some garbage characters when loading a kernel (just before Ready)
- changed behavior for the display command to not show a splash screen unless isolinux was invoked with an empty command line
- incorporated changes to chooser script
- allow onEscape action when user quits the menu
- allow per-item exececute-on-select commands
- fixed a bug where text in the message window wasnt being updated correctly

CD-Rchive2 2.0.3
CD-Rchive2 is a complete revamp of the popular but now aged CD-Rchive program. more>>
CD-Rchive2 is a complete revamp of the popular but now aged CD-Rchive program. It is intended to be used with cdrecord-ProDVD, cdda2wav, and mkisofs for the production of data and music CDs and data DVDs.
Built in tools allow cloning of a complete CD or DVD and writing copies. A Boot Wizard will guide you through steps required to make a bootable CD or DVD, write the code, and compile a binary menu program which runs with isolinux.
Enhancements:
- Functionality was added when ripping tracks from CD to automatically convert to .mp3 instead of .wav via a checkbox on the .wav tab page.
- This requires lame to be installed.
- A problem of occassional incorrect audio device specification on single device machines such as laptops was fixed.

CdGet 0.2.3
CdGet project is a smart MP3 downloading system using freedb and Direct Connect. more>>
CdGet project is a smart MP3 downloading system using freedb and Direct Connect.
CdGet is a smart downloading system used to retrieve the MP3 files of a CD. It uses freedb and Direct Connect, but is not a traditional Direct Connect client.
Instead, it tries to do the work for you, searching for sources, matching the wanted album, automatically finding the best sources, and probing for new ones if the transfer is too slow or is interrupted.
Finally, it saves the file to the right place, which is configurable, based on the artist, album, title of the song, and track number.
Main features:
- Can search for a song or album using the FreeDB database, including millions of albums!
- Download using Direct Connect, on the hubs you select.
- Automatically moves your downloaded music files to the right place. You can configure where to save the downloaded music files, based on album, artist, title and track number.
- Never gives up or gets stuck. CdGet will automatically restart stalled transfers, search for new sources and select what downloads to use based on transfer rates of different sources.
- Highly configurable. You can even configure most of the logic in the smart download system.
