CMap project is a cross map API designed to make coding and switching between online maps such as Google and Yahoo easier and quicker.
Currently, CMap can generate Google Maps, Yahoo Maps, and Google Earth KML files. There are many more advanced plans for CMap, and I intend to support it for a long time as it has a practical application for myself.
Written in Php, CMap is very easy to use and the INSTALL file contains code examples of how to get CMap up and running easily and as soon as possible.

QUAKE 4 Quakemas Map Pack is a bonus collection for Christmas with maps for Quake 4.

This Map Pack is compatible with QUAKE 4 1.0, and updates 1.0.4.0 and 1.0.5.0.

Tremors (q4ctf7):

Built within a twisting underground cavern and peppered throughout with pipes, bridges, and catwalks, Tremors demands tactical expertise. Enemies attack from above and below in the enormous, multi-tiered environment, making team-play invaluable. Tremors is perfect for huge Capture-The-Flag games, and also supports the Arena Capture-The-Flag gameplay mode.

To use the new maps in the map rotation cycle, a new map cycle script file has been included with the Map Pack, called mapcycle-mp1.scriptcfg.

To use the new map cycle script:

1. On the Multiplayer- Create Server screen, click "Advanced Options"
2. In the "Map cycle script file" field, enter mapcycle-mp1.scriptcfg
3. Click "Close advanced options"
4. Start the server

Alternately, this can be set with the console command:

g_mapCycle mapcycle-mp1.scriptcfg

To uninstall, simply delete the pak013.pk4 file from your QUAKE 4q4base directory.

gucharmap is a Unicode Character Map and Font Viewer. gucharmap uses gtk+ 2.0, so it supports beautiful anti-aliased scalable fonts via Xft.

Installation

To compile and install, do the usual

./configure
make
make install

There are two extra ./configure options:

--disable-gnome disables GNOME-only functionality, even if the GNOME libraries are found.

--disable-unihan disables CJK ideograph information. The ideograph information includes definition and pronunciations in several languages, and is extracted from [3]. Omitting the ideograph information will reduce gucharmaps size by roughly 2 megabytes.

GD::Map is Perl extension for creating geographic map files with GD.

Perl extension for creating geographic map files with GD

Normal/Displacement Map Generator is a tool designed to help you create Geometry Normal Maps. Such maps are used in high-end Games to fool the Player into believing that a Low Resolution Mesh does have much more detail than it actually does.

Those kind of Normal Maps are best generated using a High Resolution Mesh from which the Normal Informations is extracted and projected onto the Low Resolution Mesh. This tool provides exactly this functionality. A known tool to do the same is ORB but it is windows only and impracticable to use for developing a game on a Linux system.

Besides generating a Geometry Normal Map this tool can also apply a Detail Normal Map onto of the generated Geometry Normal Map. Such Normal Maps are easily created using Normal-Plugins for 2D Graphic Applications like The GIMP. Those Normal Informations are then used to enhance the generated Normal Map. This process can be repeated many times.

Also generated is a Displacement or Height Map. Those maps can be used for Offset Mapping or with never Pixel Shader version to render a Low Resolution Mesh with much more detail by creating Vertices and Faces on the fly during rendering displacing them using such a Displacement Map. This map can also be used as a pure Height Map for Terrain Generators.
