Keep 0.4.0

Keep 0.4.0

Keep is a backup system for KDE. more>>
Keep is a backup system for KDE. Keep behavior is quite simple: you choose the files you want to backup, you set up the frequency and the number of backup you want to have, and then Keep will backup them automatically.
In order to compile Keep you need to have unsermake.
Installation:
The simplest way to compile this package is:
1. `cd to the directory containing the packages source code and type `./configure to configure the package for your system. If youre using `csh on an old version of System V, you might need to type `sh ./configure instead to prevent `csh from trying to execute `configure itself.
Running `configure takes a while. While running, it prints some messages telling which features it is checking for.
2. Type `unsermake to compile the package.
Enhancements:
- ADD: possibility to use an inclusion/exclusion list when setting up backup source
- ADD: possibility to control rdiff-backup process priority
- ADD: Restore backup wizard now displays last backup date
- FIX: Backup every hour bug fixed

locations project can keep track of user logins. more>>
locations project can keep track of user logins. It is a simple script which can be used to display the locations from which users logged onto your machine from.

This was inspired by a similar script discussed in the Perl For System Administration book from O Reilly.

By default this script will display all the users who have logged into your box from more than three distinct locations - this may be tweaked via the --count=N argument.

Alternatively you may ask for a report on all the hosts all users have logged in from, via locations --show.

Cultivation 8

Cultivation 8

Cultivation is a unique game that explores conflict and cooperation in a gardening community. more>>
Cultivation is a unique game that explores conflict and cooperation in a gardening community.

Cultivation explores the social interactions within a gardening community. You lead one family of gardeners, starting with a single individual, and wise choices can keep your genetic line from extinction. While breeding plants, eating, and mating, your actions impact your neighbors, and the social balance sways between conflict and compromise.

Cultivation features dynamic graphics that are procedurally-generated using genetic representations and cross-breeding. In other words, game objects are "grown" in real-time instead of being hand-painted or hard-coded. Each plant and gardener in the game is unique in terms of both its appearance and behavior.

Bakefile 0.2.2

Bakefile 0.2.2

Bakefile is cross-platform, cross-compiler generator of native makefiles. more>>
Bakefile project is cross-platform, cross-compiler native makefiles generator. It takes compiler-independent description of build tasks as input and generates native makefile (autoconfs Makefile.in, Visual C++ project, bcc makefile etc.).
Bakefiles task is to generate native makefiles, so that people can keep using their favorite tools. There are other cross-platform make solutions, but they either arent native and require the user to use unfamiliar tools (Boost.Build) or they are too limited (qmake).
Beware that Bakefile is currently under heavy development (version 0.1.x) and is very likely to change significantly and to contain bugs. It is being used for wxWidgets new build system and you can expect it to be usable for production once we fully convert wxWidgets to use it.
Enhancements:
- Bakefile was relicensed from the GPL to the MIT license.
- Support for Visual Studio 2005 project files was added.
- Many small fixes and improvements were made.

Keep Listening 0.1.1

Keep Listening 0.1.1

The project is a simple program using xine code from mplayer (thanks!) to download BBC Listen Again streams.
Simply open the "Listen with External Real Player" links with this program and you can save the Real audio file. Play it with mplayer, vlc, or even Real Player (their linux player is actually quite good amazingly).
To build it you just need Qt 4. If it doesnt work, you might want to generate mplayers config.h for your system, and then copy it over libreal/config.h
Ive also included a binary that might possible work if you are lucky, but this is linux so it probably wont.
Anyway, enjoy! Also Mark Thomas - legend.
PS: If someone wants to make some packages that automatically do the association thing, that would be great!
PPS: Progress bar is approximate - it will take as long to download as the programme lasts.
To install, do something like:
qmake
make
sudo make install
Then (for KDE):
Go to a BBC listen again stream. Download the .ram file linked to by "Listen in External Real Player".
Right click it->properties->Type: Edit file type->Add Application->/usr/bin/keeplistening
Enhancements:
- Fixed compilation errors (kdevelop assumed absolute paths)
- Close on errors
- Added auto-close checkbox (on by default)
- Ignore lines starting with ## in ram files.

Keep It Secret! Keep It Safe! 0.21.1

Keep It Secret! Keep It Safe! 0.21.1

KisKis is an easy-to-use password manager written in JAVA. more>>
Keep It Secret! Keep It Safe! (KisKis) is an easy-to-use password manager written in JAVA. So it runs on any platform with an appropriate Java-Virtual-Machine available (Windows, Linux, Solaris, ...).

It allows the user to manage passwords for many different purposes such as
network or internet accounts, credit-card-pin-numbers and password-secured-files. The accounts can be grouped hierarchically within a tree structure.

Each account can be described by multiple attributes (user name, URL, ...) and comments. The history of each password change can be tracked. Users can define their own account templates. Multiple file-attachments can be added to each account.

All passwords are stored in a single XML-file encrypted by a single "master- password". The encryption algorithm suffices the OpenPGP-standard, so you can verify the implementation with GPG or PGP. That means: You dont just have to believe me that your secrets are kept safe.

New passwords can be generated automatically in two distinct ways. The first is a secure approach generating totally randomized passwords, the second generates much more readable passwords.

VNCTracker is a tool which you can keep track of mostly dynamic hosts on various dial-up accounts.

Rather than call each user whenever you need a current IP address for connecting with VNC, you visit the Web page generated by VNCTracker which shows the updated IP address for that host.

You can then build .vnc files for easily starting VNC with the settings to connect to the host.

Have your clients pc visit your logip.php page like so:

http://vnc.mydomain.com/vnctracker/logip.php?hostname=robert&port=5900

The IP Address is retrieved with getenv(REMOTE_ADDR); then the IP, port and hostname are inserted into the vnctracker database for viewing with showip.php

DaemonRip runs as a Unix daemon and polls a CD drive to see if an audio CD is inserted.

When an audio CD is detected, it will automatically connect to a CDDB server to determine the name, artists, and tracks of the CD, and begin to rip and encode the CD using your preferred ripping and encoding applications.
