KWA Canadian Fire Fighters 0.2

KWA Canadian Fire Fighters is a simple real time strategy game. more>>
KWA Canadian Fire Fighters is a simple real time strategy game. The task is to fight fires in a forest.

Installation:

The simplest way to compile this package is:

1. `cd to the directory containing the packages source code and type `./configure to configure the package for your system. If youre using `csh on an old version of System V, you might need to type `sh ./configure instead to prevent `csh from trying to execute `configure itself.

Running `configure takes a while. While running, it prints some messages telling which features it is checking for.

2. Type `make to compile the package.

3. Type `make install to install the programs and any data files and documentation.

4. You can remove the program binaries and object files from the source code directory by typing `make clean.

Command line Calculator 1.01

Command line Calculator 1.01

Command Line calculator CLC is the calculator that can calculate direct at the linux console. more>>
Command Line calculator "CLC" is the calculator that can calculate direct at the Linux console.

Extract the CLCC file to /usr/bin you might need to login as root or equvalent account, to be able to access it whenever you need it.

Then just write CLCC 67+89 and the answer will be presented to you directly.

CLCC calculates from left to right with no exceptions. CLC also have some extra parameters that is sent to CLC using backslash parameters.

CLCC r2 10/3 this will round the result to 2 decimals you can use 1 to 9 if you want to round the sum of.

the r parameter can also be combined with the other parameters but it must be added first like this

CLCC r3c 10/3 - to get 10 diveded with 3 rounded down to 3 decimals.

CLCC is tested with Ubuntu 6.10 and Puppy OS 2.13 but should work with any Linux version in console mode.

The program is developed using Hotbasic for Linux and is Freeware, hope you find it useful, send and email if you have any questions.

Hotbasic is a basic language that compiles into assembler direct, no interpeter that slows down the code, just pure assembler.

So if you want assembler in Linux but doesnt want to code in nasm, HotBasic is the compiler for you.

Isotopic Pattern Calculator 1.4

Isotopic Pattern Calculator 1.4

Isotopic Pattern Calculator is a calculates isotopic distributions. more>>
IPC is a program that calculates the isotopic distribution of a given chemical formula. It gives the rel. intensities and the propability of the masses belonging to a molecule ion, fragment or whatever is represented by the given chemical formula.
Furthernmore it can use GNUPlot to visualize the result. Only masses with a rel. Intensity bigger then 0.009% are shown. Additionaly ipc prints the overall number of peaks and the needed computation time.
The program uses an algorithm which computes the exact isotopic distribution. This leads to a large number of peaks which have very low rel. abundances. Even for a small molecule as Acetylsalicylic acid ( C9H8O4, Mr=180.15) there are 1350 peaks but only nine of them have a rel. abundance higher then 0.01%.
Enhancements:
- A complete list of elements and isotopes is now used.
- The list of elements is taken from the NIST.

ipcalc 0.41

ipcalc 0.41

ipcalc takes an IP address and netmask and calculates the resulting broadcast, network, Cisco wildcard mask, and host range. more>>
ipcalc project takes an IP address and netmask and calculates the resulting broadcast, network, Cisco wildcard mask, and host range.
By giving a second netmask, you can design subnets and supernets. It is also intended to be a teaching tool and presents the subnetting results as easy-to-understand binary values.
Enter your netmask(s) in CIDR notation (/25) or dotted decimals (255.255.255.0). Inverse netmasks are recognized. If you omit the netmask ipcalc uses the default netmask for the class of your network.
Look at the space between the bits of the addresses: The bits before it are the network part of the address, the bits after it are the host part. You can see two simple facts: In a network address all host bits are zero, in a broadcast address they are all set.
The class of your network is determined by its first bits.
If your network is a private internet according to RFC 1918 this is remarked. When displaying subnets the new bits in the network part of the netmask are marked in a different color
The wildcard is the inverse netmask as used for access control lists in Cisco routers.
Do you want to split your network into subnets? Enter the address and netmask of your original network and play with the second netmask until the result matches your needs.
You can have all this fun at your shell prompt. Originally ipcalc was not intended for creating HTML and still works happily in /usr/local/bin/
Enhancements:
- This release fixes a cross-site scripting vulnerability in the CGI wrapper script.

bpmcalc is an Amarok script that calculates BPM on song change and update Amaroks database. more>>
bpmcalc is an Amarok script that calculates BPM on song change and update Amaroks database.

This is my first amaroK script which calculate the BPM of the currently playing file. I wrote it after the recent patch which add a BPM field in the playlist. It isnt really useful, but I think its cool; plus it can make conversations: "Hey! did you know tha this tune is 130BPM!..."

Dont forget to add the BPM column to the playlist (right-click on the column titles->show columns->BPM)

Note the detection is sometimes bad for some music styles or when the bass drum isnt loud enough. However, in those cases the BPM is often a multiple of what has been detected. If you dont agree with what is detected, you can right click the playlist -> bpm -> check manually and press spacebar.

Feel free to modify it or to mail me your
comments/requests/favorite tune!

trafcalc 1.2

trafcalc 1.2

Trafcalc calculates the size of the TCP-payload on a system via packet capturing more>>
interfaceTrafcalc calculates the size of the TCP-payload on a system via packet capturing and connection tracking at the user level instead of the IP level.

The program uses a pcap (a library for Packet CAPturing) callback function which is called for every incoming (tcp) packet. This function has a database in form of a global linked list of structs to manage connenctions (adding new, removing old). If a connection is not found in this database it looks up the user ID for that connection and adds it to the list. Then it gets the size of the packet and adds it to the value of the traffic for that user ID, which is stored in a similar linked list of user IDs. At the end it writes out all the information at a given interval to a file in /var/log/traffic.

THCcalc 1.2.1

THCcalc 1.2.1

THCcalc calculates the THC content in a persons blood based on their usage pattern over a specific period of time. more>>
THCcalc program was originally written for Un*x-type systems. That current branch is still accessible and will occasionally be updated. This old code is in C and under a BSD license. This does not apply for the new code.

The program calculates the THC content in a persons blood based on their usage pattern over a specific period of time.

It is text based and menu driven at the moment. It will be both a command-line utility and an emacs package when finished. The new code is in LISP (currently common lisp only).

The old version of the code has several subtle bugs which should not affect usability but could cause an issue for some users. This is why I recommend the lisp version. Many Linux distributions come with a lisp interperter or can easily get one. When the emacs verion of the program is complete you should have no problem using this on any *nix system as emacs is "almost" universal.

This program will offer many advantages over the program it was written to replace (the original THC Calculator not the previous version of this code) including: date association, data files, database management, and daily output that can be used to drive a graph or other database. It can also be configured based on how paranoid a person is by lowering the cutoff rate or even the rate of decay.

RateXCalc 0.1

RateXCalc 0.1

RateXCalc is a simple tool for audio/video streams and media size/length cross calculation. more>>
RateXCalc is a simple tool for audio/video streams and media size/length cross calculation.
With RateXCalc you can:
- Evaluate the maximum video rate for a perfect fit in different media
- Calculate the final production size for a given movie length and a/v rates
- Jog the video rate with a slider and see the subsequent fit for a given media type
Examples:
1. I have to know the best audio or video bitrate for a given movie (length). Ill lock the audio or the video variable and let the program calculates these values selecting the amount of CD or other media that I intend to use.
2. I want to lock the media variable: changing the other variables the program will let me know how many CD I must use and the percentile fit of the CD or the last one (if more than one).
So I can define the time, choose a preferred audio bitrate and play with the video bitrate slider to get an optimized distribution of data on the x CDs.

Sendmail delivery stats 1.4

Sendmail delivery stats 1.4

Sendmail delivery stats is a Perl script to analyze Sendmail log files and produce mean delivery times. more>>
Sendmail delivery stats is a Perl script to analyze Sendmail log files and produce mean delivery times. It dumps all data in CSV format.
Recently I had to bear with mail server analyze, serving traffic on level +10k messages a day. And there were some degradation of services felt by users, but there was no stright pattern what mails are delivered with bigger latency. Since this was Sendmail powered site I wrote simple tool in Perl to help with analysis.
I hope it is simple to use. What it does ? It collects all log entries, which are related to successful mail delivery. Groups it by domain and calculates average delivery time (time to leave queue - I is rather impossible to estimate time spend in others servers queues). Most useful (for me) is -a option, which makes all output in CSV format, for easy use in further analysis.
It was tested on logs from Sendmail 8.13.x and I belive it calculates proper values.
Enhancements:
- The HTML output format was added, with possible template use.
- Output is now sorted.
- Minor bugfixes and code cleanup were done.
