Free browse software for linux

Mp3Cdbrowser is a tool to organize large collections of music (MP3, Ogg/Vorbis) on a CD or hard disk. It stores info about the tracks name, album, length,... into a database (build-in or MySQL). You can later browse the songs or search for them.
Enhancements:
- Performance with the hsqldb backend was improved (still is to slow in some cases :-(
- Splitpane divider between tree view and info panel
- Display confirm dialog if you have uncommited changes when switching to a different track

Menu File Browser Applet is an applet for the GNOME Panel. It lets you browse and open files in your home directory from the panel, without having to open a file manager. The project is not intended as replacement to proper file managers like nautilus. Sometimes you just want to open a file and dont want to have to open a file manager, browse to and open the file, then close the file manager. This Applet just saves you couple of clicks.
Main features:
- Browse and open files in your home directory from the panel
- Respects GNOME mime type options and includes mime icon in menu
- Middle clicking in a directory header will open a terminal in that directory

qPyProfiler is a GUI (Graphical User Interface) to the Python profiler. It allow user to profile python application and browse profiling result in a convenient way. This projet starts on june 2007.

I started this project because I do not found any free software that do that for python profiling.

The project is a free software licenced under the GNU GPL V2.

moosicWebGUI is a stand alone client program for controlling the moosic jukebox system. moosicWebGUI implements not only basic basic player functions but also more sophisticated functions for manipulating the playlist. It incorporates a small Web server based on Pythons SimpleHTTPServer library.
Main features:
- general player commands:
start, stop, next, previous, pause, skip +10/-10, repeat (loop), ...
- playlist commands:
shuffle, sort, reverse, delete duplicates, clear, save to file, load from file
- browse and search modes:
browse/search playlist, browse/search history, browse/search local files, tree view
- insert options:
single files or all music files in single directory or whole directory tree;
- add to top or bottom of playlist or mixin
Enhancements:
- Startup was accelerated.
- An online handbook was started.
- Links to the online handbook and to the manual page were added to the template.
- The man page was improved.

Glubs is written in Perl and its a clubbing system similar to Yahoo! or MSN Groups.

Users browse through a category-hierarchy and create clubs to share news, files, pics, links and a calendar with friends.

Some of the core features are multi-language and -timezone support, and custom HTML templates/skins.

Canoe is an online book cataloging software. It differs from library in a way it handles users. In Canoe everyone is equal and is able to either share or borrow books.

System helps to store and browse books data. It also automates borrowing process so you can find the book and make an arrangement with the owner with only few clicks.

Canoe project is fast and robust, designed to be easily extended and modified. Written entirely in Python.

Installation:

Copy package contents into destination directory, then run

python install.py

to setup database and initial configuration.

KLopsterUtils is a useful Tool for Lopster to view File Transfer Statistic, User Browse ( you can use filters ) and many more.
KLopsterUtils is same than lopster-tools but written in C++/QT/KDE, much better Performance and Optical Oversight.
Enhancements:
- Main actions (Browse and Statistic) from the menu were added to the history popup menu.
- Dir Watch was also added to the history menu.

ZipoBase is a simple, fast, and free web database. ZipoBase is a simple all-in-one database for small and simple applications. It is web-server based, meaning that it is accessed entirely through a web browser.
This release is pretty much for demonstration. It has very limited features, and could be buggy.
Much more features will be implemented in the near future, along with more documentation.
Instructions:
- Download the zip file for your OS
- Unzip
- Place these files in the root of your Web Server: ZipoBase.xsl, ZipoBase.css, - ZipoBase.js
- Place ZipoBase.cgi in your cgi-bin directory
- Browse to this link to access http://your-website.com/cgi-bin/ZipoBase.cgi
- Select "action" and then "Import CSV file"
- Browse to a CSV file to import. If the first row of your CSV file is the column names then check the "First row is column names" box. Hit submit.
