Castle Linux 2.4

Castle Linux 2.4

Castle is a server distribution from the ALT Linux Team in Russia. more>>
Castle is a server distribution from the ALT Linux Team in Russia. Installation instructions and some other documentation is available in English.

Brief RSBAC instructions:

1. During installation process you will have to create security officer account. This is a user that can setup RSBAC security configuration.
2. Installer applies to RSBAC kernel two special parameters "rsbac_auth_enable_login" and "rsbac_softmode". Please, dont remove it. You need it for correct installation process.
3. Run RSBAC kernel just after system installation.
4. After reboot RSBAC will function in normal mode. If you need soft mode again, use rsbac_softmode kernel parameter during boot.
5. After finishing system configuration please reboot your server.
6. RSBAC will work in normal mode at all future startups of the system. You can boot RSBAC kernel in "soft" mode again using "rsbac_softmode" kernel parameter.
7. Login as security officer you have created during installation process and run main RSBAC configuration utility "rsbac_admin".

Default security configuration:

* All system directories are in "read only" and "execute only" mode.
* Base system configuration files (e.g /etc/lilo.conf /etc/fstab) are also in read only mode.
* Home directory is available only for users and security officer (but he has no access to users home directories).Security Officers home is situated in the root directory (/secoff) and is open only for the owner. You can also create trusted environment for security officer by putting special files into the home.
* There are some useful scripts in security officers home: to enable/disable useradd, to enable/disable install and an example script for http protection.

OpenMONI Second-2

OpenMONI Second-2

OpenMONI is a semi-transparent on-desktop system monitor for OpenBSD. more>>
OpenMONI is a semi-transparent on-desktop system monitor for OpenBSD. It does not require anything additional on a standard OpenBSD installation (any port or package).
It is fully scriptable, and has a simple, easy-to-understand Lisp-like scripting language (OML). You can fully control OpenMONIs behaviour and style from OML. OpenMONI comes with a pack of OML scripts ready to use.
Main features:
- Weather plugin - far from OK. Though works in most cases. (disabled)
- Centralized depend, subdepend, recurse and nothing targets.
- README.TXT
- Centralized definitions for graphics context members. (in omls/x.oml)
- Less compilcated desc_table implementation.
- MEMLEAK fixed : destroying fifo structure doesnt leak memory any more.
- OpenMONI survives the absence of init.oml - using default init values.
- Transparency & round corner radius setup via init.oml.
- BUGFIX : now oml requires the descriptor table. It wasnt required if
- it had been compiled only with MATHSUPPORT - in most cases at least FILESUPPORT
- is compiled in.
- Simple experimental net IO support added.
- 1024 Kb is written now as 1Mb in the netscope label.
- Scope oml doesnt abort if the net interface could not be openend.
- At least the background calculation supports other than 24 bit depth.
- BUGFIX : Some WM doesnt set up a background image for the RootWindow => we cant grab it.
- Standalone oml interpreter can use the netload support.
- BUGFIX : unsupported function now returns NIL if nessecarry.
- execute keyword introduces.
- several MEMLEAKS fixed.
- If charging level is less than x%, the info is printed in warningcolour.
- Destroyed values go into the cache.
- random keyword.
Enhancements:
- Many bugs have been fixed.
- Several memory leaks have been plugged.
- Multiple color depth support has been added.
- New options appeared in init.oml, like "hide on taskbar", "allow wm to decorate window", and others.
- Arithmetic operators are now capable of handling several operands.

Ogrian Carpet 0.9

Ogrian Carpet 0.9

Ogrian Carpet is a 3D fantasy action/strategy game. more>>
Ogrian Carpet project is a 3D fantasy action/strategy game.
Ogrian Carpet is an outdoor first person shooter game with real time strategy elements, inspired by the game Magic Carpet.
It uses Ogre3D as the renderer and allows you to fly around an island casting spells, summoning monsters, collecting mana, and building castles.
The object of the game is to build a castle, collect mana, and destroy your enemies. To build a castle, select a location, look at the ground, and cast the build spell. Note, you cannot build castles very close to water or other castles.
Your castle starts out small, with only one turret. As more mana is added to your castle, it will gain more turrets. Each turret adds another crane to your castles defense and another spell to your arsenal.
Basically, the game consists of fighting for control of mana. Whenever you encounter another wizard, shoot them with fireballs. If you hit them enough, they will "die" and be sent back to their castle. You are then free to claim all the mana in the area for yourself.
Once all the mana has been claimed, attack your enemys castle to get mana out of it so you can claim it for yourself. Once you enemys castle is out of mana, you can eliminate it by killing its heart. When all of your opponents have been banished, youve won.
Enhancements:
- AI bot player for skirmish
- things can now be loaded from an image, rather then randomly
- option for old randomized maps
- trees can now always bee seen
- made castle mana drops aggregate more
- loosened the restrictions on summoning
- made the config menu better
- added victory conditions to skirmish: kill all enemy towers/castles
- made ticks and gnomes stay in the formation you put them in
- made monsters and towers drop less then their cost when they have no wizard
- made mana float higher
- made towers cheaper (50)
- made sentinels drop much less (3)
- changed speed behavior on lava maps
- added victory music
- new music

aeswepd 0.4

aeswepd 0.4

aeswepd is UNIX daemon for changing WEP keys of WLAN devices in constant intervals. more>>
aeswepd is UNIX daemon for changing WEP keys of WLAN devices in constant intervals. The WEP keys are calculated by encrypting the current UNIX time using the AES cypher with a given constant key. aeswepd strengthens the security of the weak hardware based, standards compliant WEP technology.

aeswepd may use up to three hardware WEP keys: the first is set to the current, the second to the previous and the third to the next key. This is useful when working with not completely synchronized RTCs. If only a single hardware WEP key is used, you have to synchronize your RTCs so that no connectivity interrupts may occur.

aeswepd has several advantages over other solutions to improve WEP: it is easy to use, doesnt involve computing intensive algorithms, doesnt increase traffic latency. On the other hand it has several disadvantages as well: it requires an installation of aeswepd on all network members, it is not standardized, currently only APs which run a flavour of Linux may be used with it.

Submount 0.9

Submount 0.9

Submount is a removable media handling system for Linux. more>>
Submount is a system for automatically mounting and unmounting removable media drives like cdroms and floppy disk drives. It works with the Linux 2.6 kernel series.

A backport to the 2.4 kernel series is available now as well. Once installed, it allows removable media drives to be accessed as if they were permanently mounted.

Installing

Submount is composed of two part: a kernel module called "subfs" and a user program titled "submountd". Both must be properly installed for submount to work. The software is contained in the two directories underneath the submount directory. To build and install the software, read the files titled "INSTALL" in both directories. A few binary packages are now available.

For many distributions, there are packages for 2 different kernels available. This usually means one is for the original distribution kernel, and the second for a kernel released with recent security updates included. Check the package name and the version of the kernel installed on your system carefully to make sure that they match.

For Redhat, Fedora, and Mandrake, Choose the RPM that matches your kernel package. For Debian, download the subfs-modules package that matches your kernel-image deb, download the submountd package, and install both. The .tgz packages for Slackware 9.1 were built for the basic ide kernels, but also work for the scsi.s kernels, and hopefully for others. If you want a package for a different stock kernel from these distributions (such as smp) email me directly.

SuSE 9 contains version 0.2 of submount, with the kernel modules included in the kernel packages, and the userspace portion in a separate "submount" package. The package is included with the professional version, but not with the personal edition, so if you have the latter, get the package from SuSEs ftp site. Theres no integration with yast, however, so youll still have to edit your /etc/fstab file by hand.

SuSE 9.1 will use submount to handle removable media by default.

OriginalSynth project allows users to manipulate a small portion of a sound wave (one 44th approximately or 1000/44100 of a second).

This is commonly referred to as a "wave table". Users can manipulate the wave table itself by drawing a line with two end points, drawing a point, drawing a curve, moving a point, or deleting a point. What the user makes is then repeated (oscillated) and sounds pitched.

Additonal features include the ability to combine multiple wave tabs (add/multiply), insert typical waves (sine, square, etc.), make pitch variations, and make duration variations.

Games::Euchre::AI 1.02

Games::Euchre::AI 1.02

Games::Euchre::AI is a Player API for Euchre card game. more>>
Games::Euchre::AI is a Player API for Euchre card game.

This class implements a skeletal Euchre player programming interface. Subclasses can be created quite easily as interactive interfaces or AI computer players.
If you wish to write your own computer player, I recommend you start with Games::Euchre::AI::Simple. If you wish to write your own human interface, I recommend you start with Games::Euchre::AI::Human.

CLASS METHODS

new

Create and initialize a new Euchre AI. This object is implemented as an empty hash. Subclasses may wish to use this hash for state storage.

INSTANCE METHODS

Actions

The following methods are called in the course of the game where the AI (or human) has to make a decision. The state of the game is always passed in a hashreference. The following fields are always available:

name is the name of the current player. This is useful for output messages.
names is a hash relating player number to player name for all four players.
debug is a boolean indicating if we are debugging game or the AIs. Your AI may wish to provide verbose output if debugging is going on.

bid STATEHASH

Choose trump or pass. The relevent details of the current state of the game are provided in a hash reference. Here is an example of that data structure:

{
name => Player 1,
names => {1 => Player 1, 2 => P2, 3 => P3, 4 => Fred},
number => 1,
turnedUp => KH,
passes => 1,
ourScore => 2,
theirScore => 4,
winScore => 10,
hangdealer => false,
notrump => false,
hand => [JS, QH, 9S, KC, AD],
debug => false,
}

turnedUp is the suit and value of the card on the top of the blind. This will be undef on the second round of bidding.

passes says how many people have passed so far
hangdealer is a boolean saying whether the hang-the-dealer optional rule is in effect

notrump is a boolean saying whether the no trump optional rule is in effect
This function must return one of: H, D, C, S, N, HA, DA, CA, SA, NA, or undef
N means no trump, A means alone, undef means pass. Not all of these are legal at any given round! Use the isLegalBid() method below if you are unsure.

pickItUp STATEHASH

If this is called, you are the dealer and someone called trump. Choose which card from your hand to discard in exchange for the top card of the blind. The relevent details of the current state of the game are provided in a hash reference. Here is an example of that data structure:

{
name => Player 1,
names => {1 => Player 1, 2 => P2, 3 => P3, 4 => Fred},
number => 1,
turnedUp => KH,
trump => H,
bidder => 2,
weBid => false,
usAlone => false,
themAlone => false,
hand => [JS, QH, 9S, KC, AD],
debug => false,
}

This method should return the 0-based index of the card to trade for the turnedUp card. Namely, this in the index of the hand array for the card that you choose.

playCard STATEHASH

Choose which card from your hand to play on this trick. The relevent details of the current state of the game are provided in a hash reference. Here is an example of that data structure:

{
name => Player 1,
names => {1 => Player 1, 2 => P2, 3 => P3, 4 => Fred},
number => 1,
trump => H,
bidder => 2,
weBid => true,
usAlone => false,
themAlone => false,
trick => 2,
ourTricks => 0,
theirTricks => 1,
ourScore => 2,
theirScore => 4,
winScore => 10,
played => [10H, 9H, QC],
playedBy => [2, 3, 4, 1],
hand => [JH, AH, AS, KS],
debug => false,
}

playedBy is an arrayref of numbers of the players in the order they will play. Without this, the alone possibility makes it hard to tell who played what.

Any needed information not stored here (like who was the dealer, what was the turn-up card, what happened in the first trick) is YOUR responsibility to collect and store in your instance.

This method should return the 0-based index of the card to play. Namely, this in the index of the hand array for the card that you choose.

Geography::Countries 1.4

Geography::Countries 1.4

Geography::Countries is a Perl module with 2-letter, 3-letter, and numerical codes for countries. more>>
Geography::Countries is a Perl module with 2-letter, 3-letter, and numerical codes for countries.

SYNOPSIS

use Geography::Countries;

$country = country DE; # Germany
@list = country 666; # (PM, SPM, 666,
# Saint Pierre and Miquelon, 1)

This module maps country names, and their 2-letter, 3-letter and numerical codes, as defined by the ISO-3166 maintenance agency [1], and defined by the UNSD.

The country subroutine.

This subroutine is exported by default. It takes a 2-letter, 3-letter or numerical code, or a country name as argument. In scalar context, it will return the country name, in list context, it will return a list consisting of the 2-letter code, the 3-letter code, the numerical code, the country name, and a flag, which is explained below. Note that not all countries have all 3 codes; if a code is unknown, the undefined value is returned.

There are 3 categories of countries. The largest category are the current countries. Then there is a small set of countries that no longer exist. The final set consists of areas consisting of multiple countries, like Africa. No 2-letter or 3-letter codes are available for the second two sets. (ISO 3166-3 [3] defines 4 letter codes for the set of countries that no longer exist, but the author of this module was unable to get her hands on that standard.) By default, country only returns countries from the first set, but this can be changed by giving country an optional second argument.
The module optionally exports the constants CNT_F_REGULAR, CNT_F_OLD, CNT_F_REGION and CNT_F_ANY. These constants can also be important all at once by using the tag :FLAGS.

CNT_F_ANY is just the binary or of the three other flags. The second argument of country should be the binary or of a subset of the flags CNT_F_REGULAR, CNT_F_OLD, and CNT_F_REGION - if no, or a false, second argument is given, CNT_F_REGULAR is assumed. If CNT_F_REGULAR is set, regular (current) countries will be returned; if CNT_F_OLD is set, old, no longer existing, countries will be returned, while CNT_F_REGION is used in case a region (not necessarely) a country might be returned. If country is used in list context, the fifth returned element is one of CNT_F_REGULAR, CNT_F_OLD and CNT_F_REGION, indicating whether the result is a regular country, an old country, or a region.

In list context, country returns a 5 element list. To avoid having to remember which element is in which index, the constants CNT_I_CODE2, CNT_I_CODE3, CNT_I_NUMCODE, CNT_I_COUNTRY and CNT_I_FLAG can be imported. Those constants contain the indices of the 2-letter code, the 3-letter code, the numerical code, the country, and the flag explained above, respectively. All index constants can be imported by using the :INDICES tag.

The code2, code3, numcode and countries routines.
All known 2-letter codes, 3-letter codes, numerical codes and country names can be returned by the routines code2, code3, numcode and countries. None of these methods is exported by default; all need to be imported if one wants to use them. The tag :LISTS imports them all. In scalar context, the number of known codes or countries is returned.
