absence 1.8.1

absence is a calendar tool written in Perl for keeping track of people on a daily basis. more>>
absence is a calendar tool written in Perl for keeping track of people (but could be adapted for any other object) on a daily basis.

It is meant to replace that ubiquitous whiteboard in the office of the boss.

You know the one, where someone has used a permanent magic marker to mark a matrix, and vacations/training/etc. are marked with non-permanent markers as blocks.

absence is a CGI system, and has a resolution of one day.

It is not intended to be used for keeping appointments or any other activity that requires a finer resolution.

It generates an image for each month to be displayed using the GD library, and it can be configured to produce PNG or GIF (or even JPEG).

NFS Backup System 0.0.1

NFS Backup System 0.0.1

NFS Backup System is a Perl script that backup system for NFS. more>>
NFS Backup System is a Perl script that backup system for NFS. The basic function nfsbu is an automated perl-script backup system between an NFS server and an NFS client.
Either by crontab or manual execution, directories listed in the configuration file can be backed up to a directory mounted on the NFS server. In turn, the NFS server uses the client-side script of nsbu (nfsbuc.pl) to move the data from the temporary NFS mount directory to their final places (also specified in the configuration file).
I created this script having been learning Perl for maybe 2 weeks and progressing not much further than page 12 of Programming Perl by Larry Wall and Randal L. Shwartz. Hence you may consider the code badly written, but a quote from the book Id like to include is "a Perl script is correct if its halfway readable and gets the job done before your boss fires you". So I take no blame for the code, Ive commented my code and it worked for me and I make no promises it will work for you.
With regards to licencing, I guess its not really worthy of the full 9 yards, but lets have the happy code hacker ethic of open source development. I.e. something of somewhat basic GPL licence terms and conditions. You may feel inclined to modify the code, in such case if you do, please e-mail me the changes and include the modified code. If youd like to redistribute it with your modifications, please include my name and the original code.
Main features:
- multiple directory backup, with alternative destination directories
- directories are simply listed in a file with their respective destinations
- thorough error checking, if any errors occur e-mail will be sent to the administrator
- checks the status of the NFS server and mountd to prevent any hang-ups from a dead NFS server which is common

Balmail project is a small Perl script which sends an automated daily work report to your boss via e-mail.

balmail will email a daily report to your boss (or team leader) satisfying their need to quantify your daily technical acheivements. It can be customised to fit your typical list of one line tasks, and will automatically decide which you have done and how many each day.

Care has been taken to ensure that the e-mail does not appear to be automated, by varying the time the mail gets sent, the subject lines and the content each day.

A holiday feature ensures mail doesnt get sent whilst you are away.

System Local Audit Daemon 2.0

System Local Audit Daemon 2.0

SLAD is a tool for performing local security checks against GNU/Linux systems. more>>
SLAD is a tool for performing local security checks against GNU/Linux systems.

SLAD has been primarily developed for the BOSS project to work together with Nessus to enhance its local scanning capabilities. For example, scanning for weak passwords with a tool like John-the-Ripper is something that simply cannot be achieved by a network scan.

Therefore, SLAD is required to be installed on every GNU/Linux system where local auditing needs to be done. SLAD can then be used as a stand-alone application or more conveniently through Nessus. For usage with Nessus two NASL plugins are provided for interfacing between Nessus and SLAD

The Version 2.0 provides a XML Interface for Parameters and easy integration of additional audit-parameters and tools. To help the administrator to integrate a new feature-set, a development-documentation is provided with the cvs.

SLAD has been tested and verified on the following platforms:

RedHat Fedora Core 3
SuSe 9.2
Debian 3.0 (woody)
Debian 3.1 (sarge)
ERPOSS3
Gentoo Linux 2004.3

SLAD is implemented in Perl and provides an extendable plugin architecture allowing to use various GPL-based security scanners and auditing tools under one common framework. Currently, SLAD comes packaged with

John-the-Ripper
Chkrootkit
LSOF
ClamAV
Tripwire
TIGER

As a result SLAD delivers reports of these locally installed auditing and analysis tools. When used with Nessus the individual reports are wrapped into a standard Nessus report.

SLAD as well as the SLAD NASL Plugins can be downloaded from this Website in their current stable release V2.0.

Installation:

You can use our "easy-to-use" GTK installer, this installer downloads the lastest SLAD Release Binary, and install it on the target system. You only need to provide the login for the traget system.

SuperTux project is a classic 2D jumpn run sidescroller game in a style similar to the original SuperMario games. The Milestone1 release of SuperTux features 9 enemies, 26 playable levels, software and OpenGL rendering modes, configurable joystick and keyboard input, new music and completly redone graphics.
Together with a little story, we hope to provide a good gaming experince with this first Milestone release.
The improvments in Milestone1 are in huge part the result of the work done surrounding the Game of the Month March 2004 event on happypenguin.org.
The Milestone1 section of this webpage was mainly used to coordinate development and to post sketches and other things. It will give you an overview of the development of the features and enemies that have gone in Milestone1, it might be a bit outdated and is mainly present for historic reasons to those interested in the development.
Enhancements:
- new, OpenGL- and OpenAL-based engine
- final boss for Icy Island
- brand new Forest World with new badguys and new game objects
- new and improved soundtrack, immersive sound effects
- much more...

UML::State 0.02

UML::State 0.02

UML::State is an object oriented module which draws simple state diagrams. more>>
UML::State is an object oriented module which draws simple state diagrams.

SYNOPSIS

use UML::State;

my $diagram = UML::State->new(
$node_array,
$start_list,
$accept_list,
$edges
);

# You may change these defaults (doing so may even work):
$UML::State::ROW_SPACING = 75; # all numbers are in pixels
$UML::State::LEFT_MARGIN = 20;
$UML::State::WIDTH = 800;
$UML::State::HEIGHT = 800;

print $diagram->draw();

ABSTRACT

Are you tired of pointing and clicking to make simple diagrams? Do your wrists hurt thinking about making the pretty UML your boss likes so well? Consider using UML::State and UML::Sequence to make your life easier.

UML::State together with drawstate.pl allows you to easily generate state diagrams. You enter them in something like a cross between ASCII art and school room algebra. They come out looking like something from a drawing program like Visio. See drawstate.pl in the distribution for details about the input format and the samples directory for some examples of input and output.

You will probably use this class by running drawstate.pl or drawstatexml.pl which are included in the distribution. But you can use this package directly to gain control over the appearance of your pictures.

The two methods you need are new and draw (see below). If you want, you may change the dimensions by setting the package global variables as shown in the SYNOPSIS. Obviously, no error checking is done, so be careful to use reasonable values (positive numbers are good). All numbers are in pixels (sorry by Beziers in SVG seem to require pixels). I have not tried changing the numbers, so I dont have any idea if doing so makes reasonable changes to the output.
