Mobi Bluetooth RC 0.9.1
Mobi is software which is designed to provide access to a Un*x machine using a Bluetooth-enabled SonyEricsson phone. more>>
Mobi is software which is designed to provide access to a Un*x machine using a Bluetooth-enabled SonyEricsson phone.
A simple menu file is used to define a menu structure. Menu items can be tied to arbitrary shell commands or external programs, maximizing flexibility. Menus can also be loaded from programs rather than from files, meaning that dynamically changing menus are easy to realize, e.g. to browse a filesystem, an MP3 collection or a mail folder.
Mobi connects to any phone within its reach which passes the Bluetooth authorization process (usually by providing the correct PIN number). If the phone gets out of reach, Mobi will reconnect once it is found again. The number of simultaneously connected phones is restricted only by hardware capabilities.
Mobi uses the accessory menu of the phone. This feature is present in most SonyEricsson phones. It is tested on a T610, but should work on T68, T68i, T610, T630, Z600, and perhaps other models.
The accessory interface has been completely redesigned for newer phones (K750, W550, W600, W800, Z520), but I am not able to implement this since I do not have access to one of those. For the P800/P900, there are different solutions.
Enhancements:
- No phone reset on connect, since it may end a call in progress.
- Improved installation scripts (using autoconf/automake).
- Menu files may now recursively include other files.
- Improved music playback scripts. Makes it much easier to support other players.
- Reloading the menu file will not do a full reset, but only replace the menu.

Ovlada? USB Wireless adapter Atmel 1.6
Driver for USB Wireless LAN adapter based on the Atmel AT76C503/505A chipsets. more>>
Driver for USB Wireless LAN adapter based on the Atmel AT76C503/505A chipsets. Well matched to popular Micronet SP907BB adapters. It has less problems and better results than known atmelwlan driver from sourceforge.net.
Currently, the driver has some limitations:
no promiscous, monitor or station mode and no support for libpcap, i.e. it does not work with Kismet or Airsnort and it cannot act as an WLAN access point. This is a restriction imposed by the currently firmware
The firmware for Intersil radios is old (Atmel doesnt update it anymore) and has more restrictions. See the chipsets page for more information.
Support for 2.6.x kernels is now in main tree (versions 0.13+).
It has been tested with the usb host controller drivers usb-uhci, uhci and usb-ohci. It also works with more than one adapter on one
Enhancements:
- added switch to cope with Intersil firmware 0.84.0 which does not send FCS in rx data
- new module at76c503-rfmd-acc.o for SMC2664W, which got RMFD radio, but need a special firmware (Accton OEM products).
- added regulatory domains MKK1 and Israel
- added rudimentary ethtool support for SuSEs future hotplug
- added nickname ioctl for iwconfig
- added test of valid channel in reg. domain
- added big endian patch (by Kevin Cernekee), changed defines in ieee802_11.h
- supress unsupported iwconfig modes (monitor, master) - patch by Pavel Roskin

Logitech MediaPlay Cordless Mouse USB Linux driver 0.5.2
Logitech MediaPlay Cordless Mouse USB Linux driver is a driver for USB Logitech mice. more>>
Logitech MediaPlay Cordless Mouse USB Linux driver is a driver for the USB Logitech MediaPlay mice.
The main purpose of this page is to share my experiences with Logitech MediaPlay Cordless Mouse. Here you will find all the necessary information to put your MediaPlay mouse fully operational.
When i bought this mouse, the first thing that crossed my mind was the incompatibility between all this multimedia buttons and Linux. After googling about it, I noticed there was no useful information regarding this mouse, so I decided to put myself at work.
Did my reseach, and after a few hours browsing kernel source files, reading some usb documentation, code changes, I was able to make the bit map for MediaPlay multimedia keys.
The next step was to change usbmouse.c by Vojtech Pavlik allowing it to get and export mouse extra keys as keyboard entries using kernel input core support.

Class::Adapter 1.02
Class::Adapter is a Perl implementation of the Adapter Design Pattern. more>>
Class::Adapter is a Perl implementation of the "Adapter" Design Pattern.
The Class::Adapter class is intended as an abstract base class for creating any sort of class or object that follows the Adapter pattern.
What is an Adapter?
The term Adapter refers to a "Design Pattern" of the same name, from the famous "Gang of Four" book "Design Patterns". Although their original implementation was designed for Java and similar single-inheritance strictly-typed langauge, the situation for which it applies is still valid.
An Adapter in this Perl sense of the term is when a class is created to achieve by composition (objects containing other object) something that cant be achieved by inheritance (sub-classing).
This is similar to the Decorator pattern, but is intended to be applied on a class-by-class basis, as opposed to being able to be applied one object at a time, as is the case with the Decorator pattern.
The Class::Adapter object holds a parent object that it "wraps", and when a method is called on the Class::Adapter, it manually calls the same (or different) method with the same (or different) parameters on the parent object contained within it.
Instead of these custom methods being hooked in on an object-by-object basis, they are defined at the class level.
Basically, a Class::Adapter is one of your fall-back positions when Perls inheritance model fails you, or is no longer good enough, and you need to do something twisty in order to make several APIs play nicely with each other.
What can I do with the actual Class::Adapter class
Well... nothing really. It exist to provide some extremely low level fundamental methods, and to provide a common base for inheritance of Adapter classes.
The base Class::Adapter class doesnt even implement a way to push method calls through to the underlying object, since the way in which that happens is the bit that changes from case to case.
To actually DO something, you probably want to go take a look at Class::Adapter::Builder, which makes the creation of Adapter classes relatively quick and easy.

Monitoring API 2.0 Beta 1
Monitoring API project is a multi-user programming interface. more>>
Monitoring API project is a multi-user programming interface designed to simplify the development of network monitoring software and allows users to express their monitoring needs in a device-independent way.
The main abstraction provided by MAPI is the network flow. Although flows have been used before in network monitoring systems, MAPI gives flows a first-class status. Applications that uses MAPI can specify what flows or flow statistics they are interested in by applying functions to flows.
A MAPI function can be a BPF filter, string search, packet counter or more advanced like a NetFlow generator. These function will automatically run in hardware if there is support for it on the hardware being used.
MAPI currently supports the following hardware:
- Normal NICs through libpcap
- DAG cards without co-processor
- SCAMPI adapter
Enhancements:
- This release includes support for distributed monitoring, several new MAPI functions, demo applications, and a lot of bugfixes.

Easy various links manager 0.10
Easy various links manager or Everest Linux Links Manager (evlinks) is a network manager and config toolkit. more>>
Easy various links manager or Everest Linux Links Manager (evlinks) is a network manager and config toolkit that aims to replace network services and networkmanager.
Tthe design of evlinks:
1. use mac address as config file names to avoid interface name change.
2. multi profile support, for example, you can have a setting for Office and another setting for home.
3. never display info such as "eth0/wlan0/ath0" to users. what is the meaning of this strange words for normal user?
4. coupled loosely, if any component of evlinks crash or can not work, others works very well.
5. policy support: for example, whether start wired at booting time, whether start wireless at booting time, offline or online, if wired line unpluged, shall we switch to wireless?
The components of evlinks:
1. evlinkslo/evlinksboot:
run at system booting.
enable loopback and other interfaces according to config file.
2. evlinksiw, wireless config tool
3. evlinkswireless, a wrapper for evlinksiw to handle multiple wireless adapters. if you only have one wireless adapter, it will start evlinksiw directly.
4. evlinksw, wired config tool, support multiple profiles.
5. evlinkswired, same as evlinkswireless, a wrapper for evlinksw to handle multiple wired adapter.
6. evlinksmonitor, a hal client to monitor the adapter changes. since it use hal, then we can catch the signal when new adapter plugged and removed.
7. evlinkstraffic, network traffic monitor. used in evlinksmonitor and evlinkspppoe.
8. evlinkspppoe, PPPoE clients, used to connect ADSL(no PPPoA support)
9. evlinksdispatcher and evlinksrun. dirty code to help normal user run it easily.that is to say, normal user use evlinksrun to call evlinks utils, they all run as super user. it is not a good design, also had security problem, need change later.

Incognito Live CD/USB i686
Incognito Live CD/USB CD provides software to use various Internet technologies while keeping the user anonymous. more>>
Incognito Live CD/USB CD provides software to use various Internet technologies while keeping the user anonymous. The project is based primarily on Tor while including supporting applications. The target use case is that of using a public computer, such as in a library, securely.
This CD may also be copied to a USB drive to provide persisted user settings. The intended user base are those who would like to perform standard Internet communications such as WWW, mail, IRC, IM, etc, while being confident that their anonymity is not compromised. Power users who want precise control over the application and network configuration may be disappointed.
There are full and tiny versions of the CD. The tiny version is intended to fit on small media and basically provides an anonymous web browser. The full version supports a variety of Internet applications.
The Gentoo Catalyst release build tool is used to build the CD. This tool is designed to make the CD easy to maintain. For an update of only Tor it takes a simple version bump and 30 minutes for the tiny CD, two hours for the full version. Human effort is minimal, Catalyst does most of the work. A full update of all software takes several hours to compile, but this is seldom done or needed and again generally requires little human effort. Adding or removing software to/from the CD is also generally trivial.
The following applications are kept up to date as soon as possible. Others may be updated sooner if a major security problem occurs (Firefox, etc.)
*Tor
*TorK
*Vidalia
*Privoxy
*Mixminion
Remaining applications, including the base system, will be updated on a roughly two month schedule.
