Free blob software for linux

GAI Blob are a bunch of moving blobs.

This applet is based upon the blob part of the demo effects collection v0.4 by W.P. van Paassen.

Installation:

These are the general installation instructions for GAI applets.

Make sure that you have gai installed. If not, you can get it at http://gai.sourceforge.net

Then do:

./configure
make
(change to roo)
make install

If youre running the Gnome Panel, you have to restart the panel in order to see the newly installed applet.

The Distributed Replicated Blob Server Project (drbs) is a young project, not mature enough to handle production data.

How to keep a large set of blobs available under the following circumstances:

pxlib is a simply and still small C library to read and write Paradox DB files. It supports all versions starting from 3.0.
pxlib library currently has a very limited set of functions like to open a DB file, read its header and read every single record. It can read and write blob data. The write support is still a bit experimental.

Enhancements:
- Much better support for .Xnn, .XGn, .Ynn, and .YGn files was implemented.

- PX_delete_record() does not corrupt internal index anymore.
- Various man page updates were made.
- Compile errors and memory leaks were fixed.

The unixODBC Project goals are to develop and promote unixODBC to be the definitive standard for ODBC on non MS Windows platforms. This is to include GUI support for both KDE and GNOME.
ODBC is an open specification for providing application developers with a predictable API with which to access Data Sources. Data Sources include SQL Servers and any Data Source with an ODBC Driver.
The two major advantages of choosing to code an application to the ODBC API are;
Portable Data Access Code
The ODBC API, as outlined by X/Open and ISO, is availible on all major platforms. Microsoft platforms include many enhancements to this specification; these enhancements are also supported by unixODBC
Dynamic Data Binding
This allows the user or the system administrator to easily configure an application to use any ODBC compliant data source. This is perhaps the single biggest advantage of coding an application to the ODBC API and to purchase these applications.
Dyamic binding allows the end-user to pick a data source, ie an SQL Server, and use it for all data applications without having to worry about recompiling the application.
The unixODBC team has reached this objective by providing the best technical solution to ODBC demands on the Linux platform. Also; ALL unixODBC development is and will be distributed under GPL or LGPL. The LGPL on libs will ensure that commercial solutions will be able to utilize unixODBC.
Enhancements:
- Fix a couple of typo errors in postgres driver and odbctest

- Fix potential hang with FILEDSNs if the connect string included a DSN= entry as well
- Dont save the SAVEFILE attribute in the filedsn.
- Fixed bug that prevented the setting of some attributes via the DMConnAttr method
- Removed the -module entry from the cursor lib, it prevents it building on HPUX.

MARC::Crosswalk::DublinCore is a Perl module that can convert data between MARC and Dublin Core.

This module provides an implentation of the LOCs spec on how to convert metadata between MARC and Dublin Core format. The spec for converting MARC to Dublin Core is available at: http://www.loc.gov/marc/marc2dc.html, and from DC to MARC: http://www.loc.gov/marc/dccross.html.

NB: The conversion cannot be done in a round-trip manner. i.e. Doing a conversion from MARC to DC, then trying to go back to MARC will not yield the original record.

zOGI project is the ZideStore OpenGroupware Interface.
zOGIs mission is to provide a clean and consistent XML-RPC API to the full suite of OpenGroupwares collaberation services.
Main features:
The initial focus is to support tasks and projects.

fb_shash is a UDF library for Firebird/Interbase. It implements hash and hmac interfaces to the openssl library.

It supports hash and hmac algorithms such as SHA1 and MD5. fb_shash supports BLOB data.
