Free blackbox software for linux

Blackbox is that fast, light window manager you have been looking for without all those annoying library dependancies.
If you have a C++ compiler and the X Window System you can compile and use it.
Enhancements:
- fix compilation on OpenBSD and Mac OS X
- documentation updates to data/README.menu
- fix bt::Timer to make sure it still works after daylight-savings changes
- fix horizontal text alignment by adding a small indent to all text
- fix sunken gradient rendering: the colors are no longer inverted, and the correct bevel is drawn
- add bt::XDG::BaseDir, which is an implementation of the freedesktop.org basedir-spec version 0.6
- make bt::Pen able to recover from cache faults
- silence messages from bt::PixmapCache about the cache maximum being exceeded
- add bt::Rect::inside(), which ensures that one rectangle is inside the other
- fix bt::Resource to do nothing if filename arguments are empty
- fix bt::Resource::merge() to stop overriding existing entries (it should only add new ones)
- add bt::Texture::textureResource() overload that returns a default texture if the resource cannot be found
- add bt::dirname(), which returns the directory part of a file path
- add bt::mkdirhier(), which is equivalent to mkdir -m mode -p path
- add bt::tolower(), which returns a string with all characters lowercase
- add the "Center Placement" window placement policy, which places all new windows in the center of the screen
- add "Shade Window with Mouse Wheel" and "Toolbar Actions with Mouse Wheel" configuration options
- add window-to-window snapping support. This feature is off by default, you need to set session.windowSnapThreshold to a positive number in your ~/.blackboxrc.
- add support for piped menus. The output of a command can be used to create the blackbox menu. This is done by prepending the pipe character, |, to session.menuFile in ~/.blackboxrc or to [include] filenames.
- [nop] menu entries are now drawn disabled
- fix "Focus Last Window on Workspace" behavior to stop preferring windows that occupy all workspaces
- window placement takes windows with Desktop and Dialog types into consideration and does the appropriate thing (instead of placing them normally)
- remove 1 pixel gaps between windows when doing smart placement
- allow users to override the styles rootCommand in their ~/.blackboxrc
- fix default colors used by blackbox when no style is found
- allow the Toolbar to be raised and lowered with Alt+LeftMouseButton and Alt+MiddleMouseButton, respectively
- fix maximized+shaded windows from disappearing when restarting blackbox
- each windows windowmenu can be accessed now with Mod4+RightMouseButton
- fix fullscreen support to ignore aspect ratios set by applications (specifically, this should fix movie players that are currently displaying 16:9 video on a 4:3 screen)
- fix support for _NET_MOVERESIZE_WINDOW, normally sent from pagers
- fix focus problems caused by applications that try to fake fullscreen by setting focus to an override-redirect window (e.g. rdekstop)

Welcome to bbconf, the all-in-one blackbox configuration tool. Never heard of blackbox before? Well, lets just say that its the best Window Manager for X thats out "there" in our humble opinion.

Simply put, this little utility here has such lofty goals as being the one place where you can configure anything and everything you need to that has to do with blackbox.

bbconf aims to do that through the use of plugins--plugins which allow you to configure anything you wish about blackbox or its helper applications such as bbkeys, bbpager, bbapm, bbmail, bbpal, etc.

bbconf is distributed with 4 plugins that allow you to configure blackboxs keybindings, blackboxs styles/themes, and your blackbox menus and submenus.

The architecture of the plugins themselves are very simple and elegant, thanks to xOrs work--making it easy for anyone else to add onto the distributed plugins to make it easy to configure whatever else you want to for your blackbox/X sessions.

bbconf has grown from two previous gui configuration tools, namely bbkeysconf (the gui blackbox keygrabber configurator) and toolbox (the gui blackbox style/theme editor).

But thanks to xOrs help, bbconf has become far more than the combination of those prior two tools. It has taken the place of them (read: no more development will be done on bbkeysconf or toolbox), and has the capability to do FAR much more.

bbconf is written in Qt and in some spots, uses raw Xlib functions to do what it needs to do. Qt Designer was used to help in laying out the forms and base classes--and makes the job of redesign/re-layout MUCH easier.

To run bbconf, youll need Qt libraries. If you want to compile bbconf by hand, youll need the Qt libraries, X libraries, X development packages and Qt development packages.

bbbutton is a dock application that allows you to create single application launch buttons with the image and application launch of your preference.

This is a dock application for BlackBox (and not only), that allows you to create single application launch buttons with the image and application launch of your preference.

Install/Uninstall:

OK, now what !!

Well now you can load a launch button on the Slit by running:

Bbppp is a minimalist PPP dialer designed for use with the Blackbox window manager.
This Tool displays the status of a ppp link in an decorated window, simulating the look of the Blackbox toolbar (Blackbox is a Windowmanager for X11).
To compile bbppp for use with an isdn modem follow these:
configure --enable-isdn
There are a number of command line options:
compact: show just one button to start/stop ppp
orient v: show tool with vertical oreientation (just have a look)
notime : dont show time label
thru : show throughput label
Main features:
- Most colors and gradients can be changed
- Lets you start and stop ppp-link.
- Displays status of link.
- Lights display tx and rx.
- Displays the time you are connected.
- You can display it as a 64 x 64 pixel Window Maker style dock app.

wmckgmail is a very simple program used to monitor the number of unread mails in a gmail inbox. wmckgmail project uses the wget command to get the gmail atom feed and reads the number of new mails from this feed.

wmckgmail is a very simple program used to monitor the number of unread mails
in a gmail inbox. It uses the wget command to get the gmail atom feed and reads
the number of new mails from this feed. It is a dockapp that is supported by X
window managers such as Window Maker, AfterStep, BlackBox, Fluxbox and
Enlightenment.

This dockapp is quite simple. It contains the gmail M icon and a small counter.
When the program is unable to access gmail, the counter shows the "ERR" string
and the M icon is greyed. When gmail is accessible and your configuration file
contains a valid username/password combo, the counter indicate the number of
new mails in the gmail inbox. If there is no unread mails in the gmail inbox,
the M icon stays greyed. If there is unread mails in the gmail inbox, the M iconthen takes its real colors and the counter indicates the number of unread mails.

bbcpufreq is gui-frontend for cpu frequency daemon (bbcpufreqd) intended for use with minimalistic window-managers (e.g. blackbox).
