AdvanceMAME and AdvanceMESS are unofficial MAME and MESS versions with an advanced video support for helping the use with TVs, Arcade Monitors, Fixed Frequencies Monitors and also for PC Monitors.
They run in GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, DOS, Windows and in all the other platforms supported by the SDL library.
The main difference compared with the official emulators is that the Advance versions are able to program directly the video board to always get a video mode with the correct size and frequency.
Generally the Advance emulators are able to use a video mode which doesnt require any stretching or other unneeded effects to match the original arcade display.
The direct video board programming is fully supported in Linux and DOS. Its partially supported in Windows. AdvanceMAME isnt supported in Mac OS X and other platforms.

KVisualBoyAdvance ( "KVBA" ) is a simple graphical frontend to the VisualBoyAdvance emulator, which lets you play Game Boy Advance(Tm) games under Linux.
KVBA is developed in KDevelop.

zfec is a fast, portable, and programmable implementation of erasure coding. The project includes a C library, a Python library, and a command-line tool.

Erasure coding is also known as "forward error correction", which is the generation of redundant blocks of information such that if some blocks are lost then the original data can be recovered from the remaining blocks. The RAID-5 algorithm is an erasure code.

But instead of recovering from the loss of only a single element, zfec can be parameterized to choose in advance the number of elements whose loss it can tolerate.

Aasm is an advanced assembler designed to support several target architectures. It has been designed to be easily extended and, should be considered as a good alternative to monolithic assembler development for each new target CPUs and binary file formats.

Aasm should make assembly programming easier for developer, by providing a set of advanced features including symbol scopes, an expressions engine, big integer support, macro capability, numerous and accurate warning messages.

Its dynamic modular architecture enables Aasm to extend its set of features with plug-ins by taking advantages of dynamic libraries.

The input module supports Intel syntax (like nasm, tasm, masm, etc.). The x86 assembler module supports all opcodes up to P6 including MMX, SSE and 3DNow! extensions.
