tipxd 1.1.1

tipxd 1.1.1

tipxd is an IPX tunneling daemon which snoops on a local network for IPX 802.3 traffic. more>>
tipxd is an IPX tunneling daemon which snoops on a local network for IPX 802.3 traffic, packages it and sends it over one or many TCP/IP connections to tipxd running on remote machines where it is unpacked and sent via the local network. This, in effect, makes the IPX networks appear as if all IPX peers were on the same physical hub. This program makes easier the playing of games where TCP/IP connections are not possible(for example where the two IPX machines are both behind firewalls), and the join Novell Netware Networks, share Windows Drives, etc.

By default, tipxd looks for the configuration file /etc/tipxd.conf, unless this is overidden with the -f option. This file is a very simple record format. Each record has a texttt{BEGIN} and texttt{END} statement, and tags which can occur between them to assign values for that record.

xbmsd 1.1.1

xbmsd 1.1.1

xbmsd project is a file sharing server. more>>
xbmsd project is a file sharing server implementing the Xbox Media Streaming Protocol (XBMSP) supported by the Xbox Media Center (XBMC). URLs in XboxMediaCenter.xml that start with "xbms://" use this protocol. xbmsd also supports the XBMSP Server Discovery Protocol (XBSDP).
The main features of xbmsd besides normal file sharing is mapping files to arbitrary local files or HTTP files/streams, the possibility of generating "synthetic" mplayer configuration files according to file extension and the possibility of specifying file processing filters by file extension. Mapping files to HTTP locations is useful because XBMC does not support HTTP locations natively.
Synthetic configuration files mean that files ending in a specified extension will all have a file-specific mplayer configuration file visible through xbmsd. If one does not already exist (real or mapped), it is mapped to the file specified in the specification command. Filters work so that if a file has the specified extension the filename is given as an argument to the specified command and the command output is sent to the XBMSP client as a stream.
Usage Example
Lets assume that we have a HTTP server running on localhost port 3000 that provides access to DVB TV channels via files /ts/channel. These are interlaced MPEG transport streams (TS), so we want to map these to local files and then create synthetic deinterlacing configuration files for them.
First we create a mplayer configuration file (/etc/xbmsd/deinterlace.conf) that turns on linear blend deinterlacing and sets the cache to a lower value so that the buffering does not take so long. The contents of the file is:
vf-pre=pp=lb
cache=2048
Then we create the xbmsd configuration file that maps the DVB streams to local files and configures the above file as a synthetic configuration file for files ending in ".ts". We use an empty root directory since we dont want to do anything else at this time:
root /var/empty
map ch1.ts http://localhost:3000/ts/1
map ch2.ts http://localhost:3000/ts/2
map ch3.ts http://localhost:3000/ts/3
conf ts /etc/xbmsd/deinterlace.conf
When xbmsd is started with this configuration the root directory of the server contains six files: ch1.ts, ch1.ts.conf, ch2.ts, ch2.ts.conf, ch3.ts, ch3.ts.conf.
Enhancements:
- Added IFACE configuration option (Linux only)
- Bugfix: the server discovery socket now listens to INADDR_ANY (or in6addr_any) and not the address specified by LISTEN, as it needs to receive all broadcasts.

Itzam 3.1.1

Itzam 3.1.1

Itzam is an embedded database engine that creates and manipulates files containing variable-length random access records. more>>
Itzam its a library that creates and manipulates files containing variable-length, random access records. Information is referenced by a user-defined key value; indexes may be combined with or separate from data.
Itzam is a deliberately portable, low-level C library that can (and will) be wrapped in C++, Java, Python, and Fortran 95. Higher level languages implement more complex heuristics on top of the Itzam core functions.
Main features:
Small Footprint
- Itzam Core adds less then 6K bytes to a program when linked statically.
Portability
- Itzam is deliberately portable across operating systems and platforms. A database created on Windows is readable by an Itzam application on a Linux machine. The current release ships with support for building and testing on Unix, Linx, and Windows operating systems.
No Dependencies
- Itzam does not have any dependencies on external libraries or components, beyond the common elements included with every Standard C compiler.
Flexibility
- Build your databases with indexes embedded in data files, or separate key information for the data it references, to provide different indexing schemes for different purposes. Iterator selectors provide flexible filtering to define subsets of a database.
Dual Licensing, GPL and Commercial
- Itzam can be licensed under either the GNU General Public License (GPL) or a simple non-free (closed-source) license. The GPL version is provided as is without support, while the commercial license provides technical assistance and notice of updates and bug fixes.
64-bit File Access
- Itzam is designed with 64-bit addressing in mind, and works with 64-bit Sun Solaris and 64-bit Linux.
C++, Python, and Fortran 95 Abstractions
- The core library, written in ANSI C, operates at a low-level, working directly with the operating system. While a low-level library can be a powerful tool for embedde3d and small systems, large-scale projects can benefit from a higher-level of abstraction. Development and testing is underway for C++, Python, and Fortran 95 "wrappers".
Documentation
- Ive written tutorial and API documentation to accompany Itzam. A complete example application, a contact database, is the basis for the tutorial.
Enhancements:
- Minor optimizations and code clean-up.

SMTPGuard 1.1.1

SMTPGuard 1.1.1

SMTPGuard is a tool for ISPs that stop spam before it hits a users mailbox. more>>
SMTPGuard is a tool which controls the flow of email traversing an MTA (Mail Transfer Agent). It is designed to be used on an SMTP server for incoming mail, and currently supports postfix.
SMTPGuard was originally created to meet the needs of Internet Service Providers (ISPs). ISPs typically receive tremendous amounts of email from their local (user) network.
Within a wide variety of users, some are spammers, many unknowingly have virus infected PCs; each of these can send large quantities of mail through the ISPs SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) servers.
This is especially a problem for ISPs who are connected to their users via high speed lines such as fiber or ADSL. SMTPGuard was developed to prevent SMTP servers from being overwhelmed by unexpected spikes in usage from specific (often malicious) users.
For a large ISP, their only problem isnt just with overloaded incoming SMTP servers. SPAM will also be queued on the outgoing server (perhaps the same server) for delivery to the Internet.
Because the mail is SPAM it will likely bounce, then double bounce putting extreme load on the outgoing server and its queue. smtpguard is designed to stop this type of extreme load by stopping floods of mail at the gate (incoming server).
SMTPGuard is point based. Each time a client connects to the SMTP server, SMTPGuard adds points according to the rules file. SMTPGuard uses information acquired during the SMTP session, adds points according to the rules file, and finally takes actions based on its settings. For example, the information below is used:
- Remote IP Address
- Character string provided by MAIL FROM command
- Character string provided by RCPT TO command
The following actions can be taken:
ok - white list
wait - delay processing
reject - reject messages
mail - send alert email to administrator
log - output message to log
delete - delete record in database
Enhancements:
- postfix/flexguard.c: remove word flexguard. use smtpguard instead. rename filename to postfix/smtpguard.c
- postfix/Makefile.am: rename flexguard -> smtpguard
- configure.in: 1.1.1
- rename FLEXGUARD_{CFLAGS,LIBS} -> SMTPGUARD_{CFLAGS,LIBS}
- smtpguard/Makefile.am,postfix/Makefile.am,test/Makefile.am: Ditto
- debian/postfix-smtpguard.files: added
- README.postfix: added

InspIRCd - InspIRCd is a modular C++ IRCd (IRC daemon) for Linux, BSD, Windows and Apple OS X systems created to provide a stable, modern, and lightweight IRCd written from scratch.

As InspIRCd is one of the few IRCd projects written from scratch, it avoids a number of design flaws and speed issues that plague other more established IRCd projects with the same or less features, such as UnrealIRCd 3.

InspIRCd is one of the few IRCd projects to provide a vast number of features in the form of modules through the use of an advanced, well documented module API.

By keeping the functionality of the main core to a minimum we hope to increase the stability and speed of our IRCd project and make it customisable to the needs of many users.

InspIRCd is designed primarily to be a custom IRCd for the ChatSpike IRC network however we are releasing this free IRCd to the public under the GNU GPL so that you may benefit yourself from our work.

If you have any questions about InspIRCd, or feature requests, patches etc, you may contact our development team by connecting to our IRC support channel at irc.inspircd.org.

Enhancements:
Version 1.1.22

THIS IS A RECOMMENDED UPGRADE FOR ALL 1.1 USERS
Another patch release in the 1.1 stable line has been introduced, rolling up a number of fixes from previous 1.1 releases. A few hilights include fixes to cgiirc support, and modified core building for faster loading (and easier maintenence from package maintainers). A number of minor memory leaks, low risk crashes/race conditions, and minor usability fixes are also included.
A polite reminder for 1.1 users:
We need your help making sure that 1.2 will have a painless release, help us test! Feel free to come ask us about it. Also, if youre using anything earlier than 1.1.21, you should probably schedule an upgrade.
For the curious, a changelog is included below as always.

Version 1.1.21

The latest release in the stable 1.1 series has been released, consisting of a number of internal fixes for increased reliability and performance. This is a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED release. Fixes include problems with Anope support, m_ident sometimes not correctly resolving ident, OpenSSL connections terminating when they shouldnt, corruption on /map output, silent SVSHOLD (no more annoying notices), and U:Lines may now deoper users without resorting to /kill (so defenders secureoper functionality will work properly). I would also like to specially thank Namegduf for his help and efforts with a number of fixes in this release.

Version 1.1.20

1.1.20 follows up with the latest fixes of the maintenence release. It is a HIGHLY RECOMENDED upgrade for all 1.1.19 (and prior) users, as it addresses a number of client compatibility and general stability fixes.

Version 1.1.17

Many performance related tweaks in this release to make the program perform even better. There have been a few minor fixes relating to m_watch and m_invisible.
