Biblos is a powerful indexing tool that can manage your CD/MP3 collection as well as local directories. more>>
Biblos is a powerful indexing tool that can manage your CD/MP3 collection as well as local directories. It records full information about each file on the specified media, and has a powerful searching tool that can help you find specific files. Also you can select from the database a list of files/dirs and Biblos will help you in copying them from the source media to the dir choosed.

Still the most important feature of this program is its portability : it is intended to run as well on a unix platform ( X Windows required ) as on any flavor of Microsoft Windows . So you can easily use for example your MSWindows created databases on a Linux platform .

Biblos it is a fully running program now and with no bugs . You can start creating your databases because the index files have reached maturity and the format will be supported in the future releases also . Try now the lastest release !

qmail-spp 0.42

qmail-spp 0.42

qmail-spp provides plug-in support for the qmail SMTP daemon. more>>
qmail-spp adds plugin support to qmails SMTP daemon (qmail-smtpd). qmail-spp is written entirely in C using native qmail libraries, so it does not create any dependencies.
qmail-spp has been written because currently there is no common way of enhancing qmail-smtpds functionality apart of patches which usually are not compatible one with other and require recompilation.
In addition, qmail-spp gives you possibility of enhancing your mail server in any language, so you can easily integrate it with anything you want.
Plugins are external programs which are executed after processing SMTP command, but just before accepting it by qmail; this lets you to add extra checks on commands arguments before accepting it; for instance you can check envelope recipient address against your "black list".
Plugins can be written in any language, because they are independent programs. They:
- should not read anything from standard input,
- should not exit with error code 120,
- should print all errors to standard error (they are logged),
- can print commands on standard output.

Lphoto 2.0.42

Lphoto 2.0.42

Lphoto is a Photo Library program from Linspire. more>>
This is a Photo Library program from Linspire. They developed it for their Linspire Linux Desktop, and then released it under the GNU/GPL.

This is a pretty neat program, the only drawback is that the path where it saves your photos is hardcoded into the program. The best part is that it has an option to turn your photo libraries into (S)VCD and sets them to your favorite music. Very cool!

Was tested on SuSE - 9.2 with no problems.

Installation:

To install just type "python install.py" as root. It is that easy!

rconfig 0.42

rconfig 0.42

rconfig is a tool that manages configuration files for many machines via rdist trees. more>>
Rconfig is intended to manage configuration files across heterogenous groups of machines. The configuration for each machine is determined by a set of rdist trees based on the various tags such as OS, hostname, and architecture.

Files in more specific rdist trees take priority. A basic setup would consist of a common directory, and then optionally one directory per machine in order to override any of the files in the common area.

Remote configuration requires passwordless root RSH/SSH from a host with direct access to the rconfig basedir. Target machines will require rdist but not rconfig installed.

Geo::Raster 0.42

Geo::Raster 0.42

Geo::Raster is a Perl extension for raster algebra. more>>
Geo::Raster is a Perl extension for raster algebra.

SYNOPSIS

use Geo::Raster;
or
use Geo::Raster qw(:types);
or
use Geo::Raster qw(:types :logics :db);

Geo::Raster is an object-oriented interface to libral, a C library for rasters and raster algebra. Geo::Raster makes using libral easy and adds some very useful functionality to it. libral rasters are in-memory for fast and easy processing. libral rasters can be created from GDAL rasters. GDAL provides access to rasters in many formats.

Geo::Raster also adds the required functionality to display rasters in Gtk2::Ex::Geo.

Each cell in raster/grid is assumed to be a square.

The grid point represents the center of the cell and not the area of the cell (when such distinction needs to be made). TODO: This needs more attention.

A grid is indexed like this:

j = 0..N-1
------------------>
.
i = 0..M-1 .
.
.
V
there is also a (x,y) world coordinate system
maxY ^
.
.
y .
minY .
------------------>
minX maxX
x

minX is the left edge of first cell in line. maxX is the right edge of the last cell in a line. minY and maxY represent similarly the boundaries of the raster.

kernbench 0.42

kernbench 0.42

kernbench is a CPU throughput benchmark. more>>
This is a cpu throughput benchmark originally devised and used by Martin J. Bligh. It is designed to compare kernels on the same machine, or to compare hardware. To compare hardware you need to be running the same architecture machines (eg i386) and run kernbench on the same kernel source tree.
kernbench runs a kernel at various numbers of concurrent jobs: 1/2 number of cpus, optimal (default is 4xnumber of cpus) and maximal job count. Optionally it can also run single threaded. It then prints out a number of useful statistics for the average of each group of runs.
You need at least 2Gb of ram for this to be a true throughput benchmark or else you will get swapstorms.
Ideally it should be run in single user mode on a non-journalled filesystem. To compare results it should always be run in the same kernel tree.
Using:
You need a kernel tree (any will do) and the applications time and awk
installed. time is different to the builtin time used by BASH and has more
features desired for this benchmark.
Simply cd into the kernel tree directory and type
/path/to/kernbench
Options:
kernbench [-n runs] [-o jobs] [-s] [-H] [-O] [-M] [-h] [-v]
n : number of times to perform benchmark (default 5)
o : number of jobs for optimal run (default 4 * cpu)
s : perform single threaded runs (default dont)
H : dont perform half load runs (default do)
O : dont perform optimal load runs (default do)
M : dont perform maximal load runs (default do)
f : fast run
h : print this help
v : print version number
Enhancements:
- Incorrect counting of CPUs was fixed.
- The -j option was changed to at least 4GB ram.

PerlActor 0.02

PerlActor 0.02

PerlActor is a simple automated executable acceptance test framework for Perl. more>>
PerlActor is a simple automated executable acceptance test framework for Perl.

PerlActor is a simple automated executable acceptance test framework for Perl. It can be used by Extreme Programming (XP) teams to rapidly develop executable acceptance tests for their Perl code.

XP mandates that the Customer writes acceptance tests for the application under development. The acceptance tests, also known as customer tests, demonstrate that application features are complete and that they work as expected. Ideally, the tests should be directly executable and automated so that they can be run continuously, without manual effort.

PerlActor enables an XP Customer to write *executable* acceptance tests as plain text files, using a very simple syntax. Each test consists of a number of parameterized commands (one per line), which PerlActor uses to exercise the application. PerlActor parses the test, invokes the commands with any parameters, and reports the result. The developers provide glue code to implement the commands required by the tests.

PerlActor allows tests to be grouped into suites so that related tests can be run as a group. The Customer can also just place test scripts in a directory structure and have PerlActor find and execute them all.

The PerlActor approach to acceptance testing has a number of advantages:

1) As the application grows the team will gradually develop a comprehensive set of Commands for testing the application.
2) The Customer, independent of the development team, can write and execute new tests for the application at any time, using any of the existing Commands.
3) Existing tests may be changed by the Customer at any time, again without developer help.

EXAMPLE SCRIPT

The following sample test script is adapted from one of the example scripts contained in the examples/calculator directory of this distribution. It tests a toy calculator "application":

# Script to check addition
# 10 + 32 = 42

# Create a new calculator application
NewCalculator

# Ensure that the display reads 0, initially
CheckDisplayReads 0

# Press key 1, then key 0
PressKeys 1 0
CheckDisplayReads 10

PressKeys +
CheckDisplayReads 10

PressKeys 3 2
CheckDisplayReads 32

PressKeys =
CheckDisplayReads 42

The following is sample output from the included test runner:

Running Acceptance Tests at Sun Apr 10 17:59:11 GMT 2005

CryptoMaster is a little Frontend to cryptsetup where you can initialize and mount your dm-crypt (LUKS) encrypted devices.

The status for each device is shown and you are able to add and remove new existing disks. The idea is to be completely independent from the usual crypttab/fstab setup and is mostly for use with removable devices.

Devices can be unlocked with a keyfile or with a given password. There is a panik button which will shred the keyfiles and the config files, so without the proper password thirds will be unable to decrypt your volumes.

Currently there is no GUI to setup new devices, you can only use your existing LUKS drives/images.

ExifTagger 0.42

ExifTagger is a perl gtk2 app that provides a convenient graphical interface to tagging images. more>>
ExifTagger project is a perl gtk2 app that provides a convenient graphical interface to tagging images.
Unlike most other tools, this inserts the tag information into the images as Exif, so they will permanently be part of the digital image. The interface is pretty intuitive, though more information will come with time.
It works enough for me to post source, though clearly is at a very early alpha, so use at your own risk. If you find a bug, please email me at sean at dague dot net, and Ill see what I can do.
Enhancements:
- Rotation buttons that set the Orientation EXIF attribute were added.
- The cursor is set to an hourglass when loading images.
- A "Loading..." image is overlaid when loading the next image.
- The image size is saved to a state file, removing an automatic resize on the initial load.
