PeaZip 1.9
PeaZip is an archiving application, archive/extract: 001 (raw file split/join), 7z, 7zip sfx, Bzip2, Gzip, Pea, Tar, Z, Zip. more>>
PeaZip project is an archiver tool that supports its native Pea archive format (featuring compression, split volumes, and flexible encryption and integrity check schemes) and other mainstream formats, with special focus on handling open formats.
Full support: 7Z, 7-Zip sfx, Bzip2, Gzip, PEA, split TAR and ZIP.
Browse/test/extract-only support for ARJ, CAB, CHM, CPIO, DEB, ISO, LZH, NSIS installers, OOo files, RAR, RPM, Z.
PeaZips UI aims giving aid to the user to: edit, save and restore layout of archives (input files and folders list) to speed up definition of archiving and backup operations; save job definition, as plain text, to be used in scripts or for learning purpose; have a detailed job log after each operation.
The interface is fully skinnable (skins can be customised and saved as plain text to be re-edited as freely as possible) and uses customisable transparency.
The program doesnt need to be installed/unistalled, it can run from any path (even remote; a writeable path is recommended), however Windows version is released both as a standalone binary and as a fully automated installer/uninstaller package, allowing tight system integration to use PeaZip right from Explorer.
PeaZip acts as a graphic frontend for Pea executable (graphical) from the same Author and for Igor Pavlovs 7z executable (Myspaces 7z POSIX port under Linux), that can run in console mode or through a graphical wrapper to allow more user-friendly handling of output information.
Enhancements:
- Release 1.9 introduces several updates, new functions and interface enhancements over 1.8 series, based on feedback collected on previous 1.8 release series, featuring a substantially renewed user interface driven to a cleaner design and better usability. The layout composer and the archive browser were improved, introducing multiple selection, AZ/ZA sorting, better designed popup menus, options organized in a tabs, archive browsing navigation bar, recent archives history and many other under the hood usability improvements; see change log for a detailed description.

SDLucid 0.90.0
SDLucid is a C++ wrapper library for the Simple Direct Media Layer by Sam Latinga. more>>
SDLucid is a C++ wrapper library for the Simple Direct Media Layer by Sam Latinga. SDLucid aims to not only be a wrapper, but also to offer a cleaner interface than the original SDL as well as more functionality. Want to see it in action? Here is a screenshot of the example contained in the distribution, nicely showing off the transforms code. SDLucid provides all of the following features that are not provided in SDL:
- a nice interface
- fast graphics primitives (polygons, circles...) with arbitrary fill modes
- affine transformations on surfaces (i.e. stretching, rotation...)
- bitmap fonts
- mp3, mod, wav playing with arbitrary mixing and samplerate conversion.
When designing SDLucid, I tried to follow these guidelines:
- make a new and clean interface to SDL that stays as close as possible to SDL terminology, but no closer.
- implement mighty functionality thats easy to use (some of this functionality duplicates what is available as SDL_mixer,SDL_image,SDL_ttf etc)
- use naming conventions that loosely resemble those of the STL, so SDLucid doesnt introduce another naming scheme into a client program
- stick to one mighty image format: PNG
- use exceptions for error reporting
It mixes well with STL code. Installation and use is drop-dead easy because of supplied autoconf macros and an sdlucid-config shell script. SDLucid currently depends on
- a good c++ compiler (gcc 2.95 will do)
- SDL, obviously. :)
- ixlib, a C++ tool library.

LooperNG 1.3
LooperNG is an intelligent event routing daemon. more>>
LooperNG is an intelligent event routing daemon. Primarily used for Network Management, this application can be used to accomplish a variety of tasks related to logging and alerting.
It is a modularised, rules-based event routing system that is flexible and easy to use. It is primarily deployed by network / security management groups as a central event gateway or an SNMP trap collection and forwarding station.
LooperNG events can be in the form of SNMP traps, Syslog Alerts, lines in a Log File, Sockets etc. Events can be received and generated such that an event can arrive in one form (e.g., SNMP) and forwarded in another form (e.g., Syslog). LooperNG can also receive events from systems like Nagios, Snort, Mon etc. and forward to other systems like a MySQL database, Netcool/OMNIbus, or just send an e-mail. Modules for new types of events can be easily written.
LooperNG was designed to improve on some of the limitations Looper (muthanna.com/looper). It is built completely from scratch with a cleaner more scalable architecture and is based on the Perl language.
Main features:
- SNMP Trap forwarding, exploding and rewriting (enhancing).
- Event generation for demos, debugging, troubleshooting etc.
- Event Enrichment and Escalation.
- Intelligent routing, rerouting and processing of events and alerts.
- Monitoring logfiles, syslog events, intrusion events etc.
- Forwarding alert history to databases, logfiles etc.
- Used as ad-hoc Netcool Probes.
- Used to replace HP Openview NNMs trap collection features.
- Centralize alerts in a LooperDB database.

checksysreport 1.0-0
checksysreport performs some automatic tests against a directory containing an untarred Red Hat Enterprise Linux sysreport. more>>
checksysreport project can perform some automatic tests against a directory containing an untarred Red Hat Enterprise Linux sysreport.
You will need a valid Red Hat Network login in order to use it, as it fetches information from RHN using the RHN API (see https://rhn.redhat.com/rpc/api/).
A graphical tool, yadarh, is also included: it uses the cache generated by checksysreport to display RPMs in a given channel and lets you browse them to have a list of errata and new entries in changelogs that come with other versions of the same package.
Enhancements:
Checksysreport 1.0 comes with a server and a client side so several clients can share a common cache repository.
- There is a checksysreport-server package that share its cache to checksysreport clients using postgresql.
- The server also accept sysreports to analyse from a web page.
- A cosmetic bug when copying changelogs diff in yadarh has been fixed.
- Fetching data from rhn is threaded.
- Client can be configured to use a satellite instead of rhn.redhat.com
- Makefile works for 108.redhat.coms svn
- Cleaner packaging, thanks to David Juran.

If you are reading this source, it is what should have been an internal release and consequently has a few comments at the head of the file which would not normally be here. Most likely I must have released this in a hurry because someone needed some
recent feature that has been added, before I had time to do a periodic code review and tidy-up. If this is your first time looking at or installing this code you should probably get in
touch with the author (gtoal@gtoal.com) and ask for a cleaner version before you start.
The descriptive comments which explain what this program does, and how, have slowly migrated from being at the top of the file to being lost half way down. That is something which will be done in the next maintenance release.
But this version *does* work, and works very well now. It is in service at the University of Texas Pan American, with 2000 staff and 15,000 students (although not all of those are active emailers -maybe only 2000-3000 are in heavy use. It sometimes looks like

bpkg project is a utility that tries to simplify the process of trying out new programs from source.
bpkg will download, extract, configure, compile, install, generate a package in your systems native format, and finally integrate that package into your systems packaging system so that you can remove it cleanly.
It has auto-detection for Arch Linux, Slackware, Red Hat, Gentoo and SuSE (though not all packaging back-ends are complete).
bpkg is not intended as a replacement for normal packaging utilities.
NOTE: bpkg is NOT heavily tested and could do bad things to your system. Use at your own risk.
Installation:
If all goes well, all you have to do to install bpkg is type:
# make
# make install
bpkg should auto-detect your packaging system and generate a package for itself.
You can also use make DESTDIR=/tmp/pkg install to install to a package root. If auto-packaging fails you can use make install-raw to do a normal unmanaged installation.
Enhancements:
- The build section was refactored so that its cleaner.
- Self-packaging was fixed so it should actually work if you dont already have installwatch installed.
- The --build-with option was added.
- By using --skip-build and --install-with, bpkg can now be used as a substitute for checkinstall.

UI::Dialog 1.08
UI::Dialog project supports priority ordering of the backend detection process. more>>
UI::Dialog project supports priority ordering of the backend detection process.
SYNOPSIS
use UI::Dialog;
my $d = new UI::Dialog ( backtitle => Demo, title => Default,
height => 20, width => 65 , listheight => 5,
order => [ zenity, xdialog ] );
# Either a Zenity or Xdialog msgbox widget should popup,
# with a preference for Zenity.
$d->msgbox( title => Welcome!, text => Welcome one and all! );
ABSTRACT
UI::Dialog is a OOPerl wrapper for the various dialog applications. These dialog backends are currently supported: Zenity, XDialog, GDialog, KDialog, CDialog, and Whiptail. There is also an ASCII backend provided as a last resort interface for the console based dialog variants. UI::Dialog is a class that provides a strict interface to these various backend modules. By using UI:Dialog (with its imposed limitations on the widgets) you can ensure that your Perl program will function with any available interfaces.
So if youd prefer that Xdialog should be used first if available, simply designate the desired order when creating the new object. The default order for detecting and utilization of the backends are as follows: (with DISPLAY env): Zenity, GDialog, XDialog, KDialog (without DISPLAY): CDialog, Whiptail, ASCII
UI::Dialog is the result of a complete re-write of the UDPM CPAN module. This was done to break away from the bad choice of name (UserDialogPerlModule) and to implement a cleaner, more detached, OOPerl interface.
<<lessSYNOPSIS
use UI::Dialog;
my $d = new UI::Dialog ( backtitle => Demo, title => Default,
height => 20, width => 65 , listheight => 5,
order => [ zenity, xdialog ] );
# Either a Zenity or Xdialog msgbox widget should popup,
# with a preference for Zenity.
$d->msgbox( title => Welcome!, text => Welcome one and all! );

KwikWiki is a web application that enables you to set up a website where anyone can edit the content of a page or add new pages. The system will track things like recent changes and indicate if a link is dead or not. The project uses a very simple (simpler than html) notation to create links, lists and format text. KwikWiki also keeps every version of page that is saved so you dont have to worry about losing old data.
Enhancements:
- Switched to Lucene for the search. This means search is both faster and more scalable.
- Phrase search, using double quotes around the phrase, is now suppported.
- Added a RelatedPages section on each wiki page. This shows pages that use the same words as the current page. This makes it easier to navigate larger wikis.
- Made the CSS slightly prettier.
- Reorganised the urls so that theyre cleaner and the pages are easier to bookmark and save.
- In response to a request by Aaron Hamid the file-based backend to KwikWiki now has a configurable directory location. This should make it significantly easier to user KwikWiki from a windows service since those dont have an easy to find "user.home"
