Simplebackup is a cross-platform backup program. Simplebackup project reads a configuration file, then it builds a compressed file for each of your backup directories or files on your backup list, and places the compressed files into another location.
For example, this location can be a network mapped drive in Windows, an NFS mounted drive in Unix, another hard disk, an FTP server, or a tape device (Unix only). This will duplicate your information, doing the so called "backup".
Main features:
- Support for several compressed formats (rar, zip, tar, tar.Z, tar.gz, tar.bz2).
- Support for three backup modes: Full ; Incremental and Differential.
- Creates separate backup file for each backup directory or file on the backup list.
- Can read the backup list from a separated text file.
- Support for lists of files to ignore, this will allow ignoring files of any type desired. For example backup all except mp3 and ogg files.

- Support for size limitation on the files to backup, example only backup files up to 1 Megabyte.
- Support for single directory orders by using a special file named [ simplebackup_rejection.txt ] that is placed inside any directory of the backup.
- Allows for the selection of the compression ratio, example, you can use this feature to disable the compression during the backup of a directory that contains mp3 files, since this barely compress at all.
- Can also backup into ftp servers, and is able to use a ftp proxy server (must be in open mode). This gives you the possibility to do backups into any point on the planet across the internet, all that is required is for the remote system to have a standard ftp server.
- Under unix operating systems it can backup into tape devices.
- Also related to tape devices, it can execute any command desired before and after writing to tape, example mt -t /dev/tape0 rewind.
- Works fully unattended, so you can easily program a at/cron job (unix) or task scheduler (windows).
- Automatic backup session management.
- Can manage backup sessions using a local database file.
- Can run a script/batch file/command before the backup, example, you can use this feature to shut-down the database and free the data files for backup.
- Can run a script/batch file/command after the backup, again a example, you can use this feature to bring the database back on-line.
- Can send backup reports by e-mail (using smtp mail servers only).
- Can export the backup reports into any external program(s) or command(s).
- Logs all operations into a file that can be consulted latter.

Document Archiver allows automatic archiving of documents.

The Document Archiver is a standalone Java application which should be scheduled to run nightly to facilitate the automatic archiving of documents in the KnowledgeTree DMS.

The programs checks if any documents are due to be archived, based on the Date or Utilisation criteria set in the web application (e.g. archive after 2 months, or archive 15 days after the last download).

Archive::Rar is a interface with the rar command.

This is a module for the handling of rar archives.

Locates the rar command (from PATH or from regedit for Win32) and encapsulate it to create, extract and list rar archives.

At the moment these methods are implemented:

new()

Returns a new Rar object. You can pass defaults options.

Add(%options)

Add file to an archive.

Extract(%options)

Extract the contains of an archive.

List(%options)

Fill the list variable of the object whith the index of an archive.

OPTIONS

-archive

Archive filename.

-files

List of files to add. You can use a scalar value or an array reference.

-quiet

No output for the rar command if True.

-sfx

Create self-extracting archive.

-size

Size of the parts in bytes.

-verbose

Level of verbosity.

Yahoo Group Archiver project is a collection of scripts to interact with Yahoo Groups and download various sections of each group to your local workspace.
Currently the following scripts are being actively supported:

Main features:
yahoogroup-messages
- Downloads all the messages from a group in the order in which they were received.
- Note: Yahoo has user based and group based limits on the number of messages you can download

- Downloads all the content from the Files section in a group maintaining the heirarchy as present on the website
- Note: Yahoo has user based and group based limits on the number of files you can download
yahoogroup-photos
- Downloads all the content from the Photos section in a group maintaining the heirarchy as present on the website
- Note: Yahoo has user based and group based limits on the number of images you can download

- Extract the members list and output it as a tab separated data.
- Note: MS Excel users may read this data by redirecting it to a file with a extension .xls
Enhancements:
- Yahoo! has made HTTPS-based login mandatory, and the script has been updated with the new Yahoo! Group HTML layout.

Optar stands for OPTical ARchiver. This project is a codec for encoding data on paper. Optar fits 200kB on an A4 page, then you print it with a laser printer. If you want to read the recording, scan it with a scanner and feed into the decoder program.

A practical level of reliability is ensured using forward error correction code (FEC). Automated processing of page batches facilitates storage of files larger than 200kB.

SubEthaSMTP is an easy to understand Java library that provides a receptive SMTP server component.
By plugging this component into your Java application, you can easily receive SMTP mail using a simple abstract Java interface.
Also included is a small sub-project called Wiser, an easy to use incoming mail testing framework.

- A mailing list manager (ie, SubEtha Mail)
- A mail server that delivers mail to user inboxes
- A mail archiver like Mail Archive
- An email test harness (Implemented in this project. Its called Wiser.)
SubEthaSMTP was split out of the SubEtha Mail mailing list manager because it is a useful standalone component. When we wrote SubEtha, the last thing we wanted to do was write our own SMTP server. In our search for a modular Java SMTP component, we examined:

Since youre reading this page you probably already know what we found: Six different SMTP implementations without the slightest thought given to reusability. Even Jstmpd, which purports to be a "A Modular Java SMTP Daemon", isnt. Furthermore, even though JBoss Mail is in active development, the team was unintersted in componentization of the SMTP processing portion of their server.
During the development of SubEthas testing harness, we tried out the Dumbster software and found that not only was the API difficult to use, it did it not work properly, the developer has not done any development on it in about a year and it does not work reliably on Mac OS X. With two simple classes we re-implemented it as an included project called Wiser.
We hate reinventing wheels. This should be the LAST FREAKING JAVA SMTP IMPLEMENTATION.
