XPilot project is a multi-player 2D client/server space game.
XPilot is a multi-player 2D space game. Some features are borrowed from classics like the Atari coin-ups Asteroids and Gravitar, and the home-computer games Thrust (Commodore 64) and Gravity Force (Commodore Amiga), but XPilot has many new aspects too.
Main features:
- True client/server based game; optimal speed for every player.
- Meta server with up to date information about servers hosting games around the world.
- A web of world-wide rating servers; compare your skills with pilots from all around the world, and climb the ladder of the world-wide rating list.
- Real physics; particles of explosions and sparks from your engines all affect you if youre hit by them. This makes it possible to kill someone by blowing them into a wall with engine thrust or shock waves from explosions.
- Specialized editors for editing ship-shapes and maps.
- Game objective and gameplay adjustable through a number of options, specified on the commandline, in special option files, or in the map files. Examples of modes of the game:
- classical dogfight; equipped with only your gun, you have to rely on your maneuvering and tactical skills
- team; fight together, steal other teamss treasures (involves flying around with a ball in a string, much like in Thrust) and blow up their targets (which are, no doubt, heavily guarded)
- all out nuclear war; chose carefully between more than twenty weapon and defense systems to stay alive and annihilate your enemies
- race; make it through the deadly course before your opponents
- Adjustable gravity; adjustable by putting special attractors or deflectors in the world, or by adjusting the global gravity in various ways.
- Cannons and personalized and vengeful robot fighters give you a hard time.
- Watch your energy, and remember to dock with a fuel station to refuel before its too late.
- Defend your home base, or terrorize and steal someone elses.
- Equip your ship with the 15+ defense and weapon systems: afterburners, cloaking devices, sensors, transporters, extra cannons, mines and bombs, rockets (smarts, torpedos and nuclear), ECM, laser, extra tanks, autopilot etc.
To start playing, you need to connect to a server by using a client program called xpilot. There are always servers running if you check with the meta server, but if you for some reason do not want to join them, youll have to start a server of your own (see man-page xpilots(6)).
Enhancements:
- Team cannons could kill teammates with laser pulses. Fixed.
- On the map Death Star one can destroy a large number of targets with one FNC. This results in packet buffer overflows and slow updates. To overcome this a smarter map update algorithm is implemented in the server and also map updates are now limited to max 2 KB per network packet.
- The default score font was reduced from 15 to 13.
- When the server sends map updates to the client these are now always acknowledged immediately by the client. This should help prevent stalls or lock-ups on maps where are a large number of targets or cannons can be destroyed. It should also reduce the number of very big server frame update packets.
- Robots no longer try to go after players who arent in playing mode.

Lexi project is a dict client and vocabulary builder.

Lexi is a dict client that also serves as a personalized vocabulary builder.

It caches definitions and has a persistent word list.

The interface is structured to be quick and easy and features synonym clicking, drag and drop word queries, and spelling suggestions.

Slackmod is a Slackware modules manager.

Slackmod is a GTK2 interface developed for Slackware for the rc.modules file.

A simple interface that scans your kernel and rebuild a rc.modules that contains compiled modules only.

Slackmod has an algorithm that checks kernels changes and automatically rebuild you personalized rc.modules.

Slackmod supports kernel 2.4 and 2.6 too.

Tellmatic project is a tool to manage and create newsletters for personalized mailing or mass mailing. Addresses and newsletters are stored in groups to handle different user groups and thousands of addressses at a time.

SMTP is used for sending the newsletter to your subscribers to make sure you get all error and bounce messages. Bounces can be handled automagically via a small bounce-management module with POP3 access. It also has a small form-editor and statistics. You can import and export your addresses in CSV format.

Security Officers Best Friend (SOBF Tool) is an Information Security Risk Analysis and Management tool. It is the reference implementation of the SOMAP.org Guide and follows the risk analysis workflow as described in the Guide.

The SOBF Tool is currently in development and there are public preview downloads from time to time.

The SOBF tool makes heavy use of the structures and references from the Repository and features a layer with personalized data ontop the theoretical layer provided by the Repository. The SOBF tool links theoretical informations with a concrete inventory to help the security officer in analyzing and managing his or her assets.

With the data and calculations from the SOBF Tool a security officer can generate reports about situations, gaps, protection profiles and the state of an environment.

Liquid Bytes Adaptive Website Framework (AWF) is aimed at software developers and webmasters. Adaptive Website Framework helps you to create dynamical personalized Web sites with community functions, database powered content management, and an administration interface.
AWF includes advanced features like exporting to static HTML, caching, and URL rewriting.
The new AWF 2 introduces many new features like version management and fully flexible URLs. It is currently available as Beta version and requires PHP 5.

Requierments:
- Apache Web-Server with PHP >= 4.3.0 installed (AWF version 1.04 works with 4.1.0).
- DOM XML support for PHP (optional)
- MySQL server (tested using 3.22.32 and 3.23.36)
AWF was successfully tested with all major browsers (Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Netscape Navigator, Opera and Konqueror), as only HTML is used for the core funktions.
Adaptive Website Framework is Free Software. You can use and redistribute it under the terms of the GNU General Public License, as published by the Free Software Foundation.
Enhancements:
- This release features rendering of LaTeX code, a new plugin system for content objects, improved multi-language support, better SEO, a Web shop (alpha version), and new templates.
- The Spaw WYSIWYG editor was removed for security reasons.

GoFun is an implementation of the DesktopEntrySpecification found at FreeDesktop.Org. To say it simple, GoFun manages Icons, that represent applications, links and devices.
So GoFun is a desktop itsself and you can use it to start your regularly needed applications and maintaince tasks or to open a CD in a filemanager.
GoFun is more than an application launcher, since it has many multimedia features that make you a more flexible user of the GNU environment.
In fact GoFun could change your view on the GNU desktop, since it gives you the chance to have a personalized and optimized (damn buzzwords) desktop looking sweet and feeling effective.

Alfalinux is a minidistribuition on two floppy disks much different from other similar products: that is no non-standard/reduced or remaked system parts, no bad overformatted floppy disks, no such things like other similar mini distributions.
Alfalinux is a STANDARD portable SLACKWARE (3.5 kernel 2.0.34) on two floppy disks, a real linux that loads himself in RAM. Youll find only standard applications (ex. bash or lynx)and a "clear" system, thinked to be easily personalized such as your home system.
The basic configuration to use Alfalinux should be a 486 with at least 8 mb of ram. Please notice that with less than 12mb probably you can load only the first base floppy, without additional and networking apps stored in the second. System and personalizations
The system is divided into two floppy disks. On the first you find files for Syslinux (the linux loader), a kernel and the compressed base filesystem initrd.gz.
At the startup file the kernel mount it as root filesystem. In the second floppy there is the gzipped tar archive netdata.tgz, that contains network programs, libncurses, key layouts and many other additional system parts (not needed for the correct usage of the system). The netdata script on the second floppy create the second ramdisk mounted on /usr/bin and unpack the netdata.tgz archive in the system.
To personalize you can modify the base filesystem initrd.gz, add your parts in the netdata archive or create your new archives. You also simply copy files on the second floppy disks and modifu the netdata script, to copy files on the floppy into the system (at the boot time).
As example, if we want to modify/create the scripts for internet connection we have to update
/etc/resolv.conf
/etc/ppp/options
/etc/ppp/pap / chap-secrets
/bin/connect
/bin/chatscript
Once we have prepared the updates scripts save them on the second disk and append at the netdata script a sequence to delete and replace the old scripts with new at the startup: noe you have a personalized system every time it loads at startup from floppy.
Please remember that Alfalinux dont mount local filesystems at startup (only the floppy disks, but you can insert it write-protected) so its an absolute secure system, because is loaded into RAM memory and dont need any installation procedure.
Installation
First of all, unpack the archive (tar xvfz filename), then
