Password Hasher 1.0.4
Password Hasher enables a good security practice. more>>
Password Hasher enables a good security practice.
What good security practice demands:
- Strong passwords that are hard to guess.
- Different passwords at each site.
- Periodically changing existing passwords.
Why you probably arent practicing good security:
- Strong passwords are difficult to remember.
- Juggling a multitude of passwords is a pain.
- Updating passwords compounds the memorization problem.
Main features:
- Automatically generates strong passwords.
- One master key produces different passwords at many sites.
- Quickly upgrade passwords by "bumping" the site tag.
- Upgrade a master key without updating all sites at once.
- Supports different length passwords.
- Supports special requirements, such as digits and punctuation.
- Supports restricting a hash word to not use special characters. (New!)
- Saves all data to the browsers secure password database.
- Generates a portable HTML page with your site tags and option settings that allows you to generate your hash words in any browser on any machine without the extension installed. (New!)
- Can add marker buttons to unmask passwords on any web site. (New!)
- Extremely simple to use!

PAiN 0.46
PAiN is a new MUD code base written in Java. more>>
PAiN project is a new MUD code base written in Java.
PAiN is a new MUD codebase written in Java. It provides a general purpose persistence engine (PAiN DB) and the ability to do dynamic code reloading.
Main features:
- Pure Java database engine (transparent constant-time object access, tracking of the dirty state, transactions and savepoints support).
- Static server code (connection handling, support for code reloading and base interfaces).
- Dynamic reloadable set of action classes and plugins (virtual world logic code and plugins).
- Graphical tool to administrate server and database
Enhancements:
- PAiNDB: Collections could be saved separately from object image. This option should be used if collection is not the only field of dbobject, it has size of 20-40 items and dbobject fields are changed often. Saving collection separately will reduce flushing and object backup time inside transactions.
- PAiNDB: DbObject.provideSchema() is now static method and required for all non-abstract DBObject impls. This allows to import class schema into db without object instantiation.
- GUITool: fully rewritten, modules concept added.
- Codebase: more admin console commands.
- Tinylyb: roles removed: Reset, ResetGroup. SpaceGroup was renamed to Area.
- Tinylib: more shell implemented(this shell should be used to show multipage output)
- Tinylib: online builder bugfixing.
- PAiNDB: fixed bug with error on objects removal with non-empty StringMap type fields.
- Tinylib: bugs in @build mode fixed. More complete visualization for array-type fields
- Tinylib: number of small enhancements.

mop(e)snake 0.5
mop(e) snake is a classic snake game which pits you against all the pain in the world. more>>
mop(e) snake is a classic snake game which pits you against all the pain in the world. mop(e)snake project runs on Linux, Windows, and GP2X.
You can try its innovative one-finger control method or stick with a more traditional style of play.
Playing mop(e)snake
Press any key to start, and use the arrow keys to control your snake. Eat the pain.
Alternatively, you can use the good old fashioned O, P, Q, A key layout you remember from your ZX Spectrum days. You can also redefine the keys by modifying the config file in ~/.mopesnake/config. Figuring out the format of that file is left as an exercise for the reader.
Press ESCAPE on the title screen to enter the menu, which allows you to change the skill level (Easy, Medium or Hard) and the game mode (Normal or One-button). Press ESCAPE during the game to pause or quit.
In one-button mode, press any key to start, and any key to turn in the direction in which the arrow is pointing. Its tricky at first, but try to get into the rhythm. Its quite fun.
Enhancements:
- mop(e)snake now continues to run if the sound fails to initialize.
- The ability to turn music and sound effects on and off has been added.

Class::Accessor::Named 0.005
Class::Accessor::Named is a great way to automate the tedious task of generating accessors and mutators. more>>
Class::Accessor::Named is a great way to automate the tedious task of generating accessors and mutators. One small drawback is that due to the details of the implemenetation, you only get one "__ANON__" entry in profiling output.
That entry contains all your accessors, which can be a real pain if youre attempting to figure out _ w_ h_ i_ c_ h of your accessors is being called six billion times.
This module is a development aid which uses Hook::LexWrap and Sub::Name to talk your accessors into identifying themselves. While it shouldnt add much additional runtime overhead (as it acts only Class::Accessors generator functions), it has not been designed for production deployment.

ogre4j project enables the use of the OGRE (Object-Oriented Graphics Rendering Engine) libraries in Java applications.
The first approach was made by Ivica Aracic aka bytelord (http://www.bytelords.de). Thanks to him for taking the first steps!
The last stable CVS version located at the OGRE SourceForge.net project page is based on his code but the new team is working on a complete new version that will be more powerful (hopefully).
To ease the pain for those who are using OGRE in C++ the usage of ogre4j will be straight forward. Every public interface of the OGRE library will be available through Java Native Interface (JNI) in the Java world.

AFT 5.096
AFT is a simple documentation markup language for HTML/LaTeX/etc. more>>
AFT is a document preparation system. It is mostly free form meaning that there is little intrusive markup. AFT source documents look a lot like plain old ASCII text.
AFT has a few rules for structuring your document and these rules have more to do with formatting your text rather than embedding commands.
Right now, AFT produces pretty good HTML, LaTeX, lout and RTF. It can, in fact, be coerced into producing all types of output (e.g. roll-your-own XML). All that needs to be done is to edit a rule file. You can even customize your own HTML rule files for specialized output.
Installation
- Run ./configure and then make install.
Enhancements:
aft-html.dat and aft-tex.dat
- Removed the historical hack: using to produce a line break. This was never documented, so it shouldnt cause too much pain to have it removed. If it does cause pain, let me know. You could always use a pragma to (re)implement this feature/hack.
- In the meantime... A new rule element: LineBreak has been introduced so that internal reliance on goes away. LineBreak has not been exposed to the end user (yet).
AFT.pm
- Fixed a small bug concerning line continuations in verbatim mode: Line continuations are no longer parsed when in verbatim mode. What you type is what you should get.

FireAngel 1.0.0
FireAngel is a relatively small script that should easy the pain of setting up a Linux 2.4.x iptables based firewall. more>>
FireAngel is a relatively small script that should easy the pain of setting up a Linux 2.4.x iptables based firewall. FireAngel project can do basic firewalling such as specifying unsafe and safe interfaces, host/subnets and ports.
FireAngel can also set up Masquerading for you (over multiple interfaces if you really want that). Theres no fancy documentation, just a quick installation guide (a couple of lines) and a documented configuration script. FireAngel just tries to do its work as good as it can, nothing more, nothing less...
Oh and by the way... This thing comes without guarantees! I do not and will never take responsibility for faults in the script or the configuration file.
Installation:
Copy the "rc.fireangel" file to your /etc directory and edit options as you want them. If needed, create your own "rc.fireangel.allow" and "rc.fireangel.disallow" files. Copy fireangel script to /etc/init.d (or /sbin/init.d or /etc/rc.d), and make sure it gets started, either by including it in some run level, or by calling it in ip-up/ip-down or ifup/ifdown
configuration.

EtherDam 0.4
EtherDam is a firewall configuration engine that relies on iptables. more>>
EtherDam is a firewall configuration engine that relies on iptables. It presents firewall configuration as a somewhat simpler scripting language thats still flexible enough for most purposes.
So why not just use iptables?
Well, lets just face one thing: iptables is a pain to manage. By pain, I mean a heavy dull throb that seems ready to make your head explode. Its nice to finally have a stateful firewalling facility for Linux, but you have to remember fifteen or so different arrangements of the iptables options just to make a simple bare-metal NAT box. Its enough to send you running back to OpenBSD.
One day, I got tired of that. So I came up with EtherDam.
My goal with EtherDam was to create a simplified firewall configuration language rather than remember or look up several complex incantations of the iptables command. EtherDam is a wrapper; it still uses iptables as a back-end. The processing engine is also fast, though its not extremely well tested.
The language itself is fairly complete--complete enough for a decent firewall--though its not properly documented yet.
Enhancements:
- etherdam.in:
- added IPTABLES command support.
- added MSS command for TCP MSS clamping.
- firewall.conf.5.in: documented MSS command, fixed typos.
- firewall.conf.in: added example MSS command usage.
- configure, configure.ac, etherdam.spec: bumped version number.
- new release (release 0.4)

Games::Go::AGATourn 1.035
AGATourn is a Perl extensions to ease the pain of using AGA tournament data files. more>>
AGATourn is a Perl extensions to ease the pain of using AGA tournament data files.
SYNOPSIS
use Games::Go::AGATourn;
my $agaTourn = Games::Go::AGATourn->new (options);
An AGATourn object represents a round or several rounds of an American Go Association tournament. There are methods for parsing several type of AGA file format:
tdlist
The entire list of AGA members including playing strength, club affiliation, and some other stuff.
register.tde
The starting point for a tournament. All players in a tournament must be entered in the register.tde file.
round results: 1.tde, 2.tde, etc.
Game results for each round of the tournament.
A note on IDs: in general, hashes in an AGATourn object are keyed by the AGA ID. An AGA ID consists of a three letter country specifier (like USA or TMP for temporary IDs) concatenated to an integer. Here we specify the three letter country specifier as the country and the integer part as the agaNum. The country concatenated with the agaNum is the ID. My ID for example is USA2122. IDs should be normalized (capitalize the country part and remove preceding 0s from the agaNum part) with the NormalizeID method (below).
Note also that some programs may accept limited integers in the agaNum part of the ID. Accelerat, for example, seems to accept only up to 32K (someone used a signed short somewhere?)

mysqlCart provides a template based dynamic e- commerce shop system.
It does not require any modules or rely on interpreted languages and is very fast even on older machines.
Finally a template driven -pure C with mySQL C API-, very fast and easy on your CPU and RAM GPL ecommerce solution. The mysqlCart/mysqlShop admin/dynamic site combo is from the world leaders in GPL ISP software OpenISP, and it is FREE (more so GPL free! www.fsf.org)
This ecommerce solution gives you the edge over clunky perl (shudder!) or pain in the ... php installation nightmare and interpreted lameness. And phps awkward syntax tries to be like C (php is written in C, but study its history and come to your own conclusions about its usefulness for heavy traffic sites,) so why bother?
To be fair php is great for certain things but C is much better for mySQL cgis. All unix type OSs, including Linux/FreeBSD/OpenBSD and Solaris are written in C.

HGL 3.00
HGL project gives the programmer access to the most interesting parts of the Win32 and X11 library. more>>
HGL project gives the programmer access to the most interesting parts of the Win32 and X11 library without exposing the programmer to the pain and anguish usually associated with using these interfaces.
The library is distributed as open source and is suitable for use in teaching and in applications.
This version supports:
- Filled and unfilled 2-dimensional objects (text, lines, polygons, ellipses).
- Bitmaps (Win32 version only, for now).
- Control over text alignment, fonts, color.
- Simple input events (keyboard, mouse, window resize) to support reactivity.
- Timers and double-buffering to support simple animation.
- Use of concurrency to avoid the usual inversion of the code associated with event-loop programming.
- Multiple windows may be handled at one time.
To keep the library simple and portable, the library makes no attempt to support:
- User interface widgets (menus, toolbars, dialog boxes, etc.)
- Palette manipulation and other advanced features.
- Many kinds of input event.
