rdns 1.0
rdns provides a tiny little UNIX utility that will preform reverse dns lookups. more>>
This simple little program takes an IP address as an argument, and spits out the hostname that it finds. Its a simple little program designed to be used in scripts, primarily.
Syntax:
rdns [-s]
Optionally, you can append -s onto the command line. This will prevent rdns from printing any available aliases.
Note: Sometimes rdns will just seem to hang there during the gethostbyname() call. This usually occurs when you try to resolve addresses private IP addresses, like 192.168.*, 10.* and so forth. This is usually BAD for scripting, so try to have all the possible hosts in your /etc/hosts.

CreditCard Validator - The CreditCard Validator will help you tell:
1. if a credit card number is valid,
2. which credit card vendor handles that number.
It is a simple Applet to demonstrate the use of the ValidateCreditCard class.
It validates the prefix and the checkdigit. It does *not* contact the credit card company to ensure that number has actually been issued and that the account is in good standing.
It will also tell you which of the following credit card companies issued the card: Amex, Diners Club, Carte Blanche, Discover, enRoute, JCB, MasterCard or Visa.
ATM cards use a different secret scheme which this program does not handle. Unfortunately, there is not even a reliable way to tell an ATM card from a credit card just by the number.
It is primarily designed to be included in your own Java program, though it can be used standalone or as an Applet.
To install, Extract the zip download with Winzip, available from http://www.winzip.com (or similar unzip utility) into any directory you please, often C: -- ticking off the (user folder names) option. To run as an application, type:
java -jar C:commindprodcreditcardcreditcard.jar
adjusting as necessary to account for where the jar file is.
You must have Java version 1.1 or later installed to use this package.
See http://mindprod.com/jgloss/installingjava.html for details.
Enhancements:
Version 1.8
convert to JDK 1.5. simplify code using enum.

KMameleon 1.0pl2
KMameleon is a slick and easy to use KDE XMame. more>>
It supports a vast section of options provided by the emulator, and it supports X11, SDL and XGL versions of it.
KMameleon is not really "just another XMame wrapper". It has really simple interface for game selection with a really powerful backend, which it makes it user-friendly for anyone. For newbies there can be just a couple of clickable options, which are stated "fullscreen" for the mode and "rompath" in "paths" module.
As in the very same time you have whole lots of options for the advanced user and (new in KMameleon 1.0) a module to write your own switches in, so if there are some new switches, or you feel better to keep all "under control", you can use that.
Actually... I havent seen any other _good_ XMame wrappers for KDE. There are 2, that I can name at this very moment: KMameRun (last release for KDE 1.1) and QtMAME, which is not that bad, but 1) natively is written in Spanish and 2) paths are fixed, and it doesnt honour the $HOME directory, and its written purely in Qt.
Thats not bad, but as KMameleon is natively written for KDE, it uses some of the KDEs nifty gadgets, like DCOP for having unique application and lots more.
