POP3 Virus Scanner Proxy 0.4

POP3 Virus Scanner Proxy 0.4

POP3 Virus Scanner Proxy is a full-transparent proxy daemon which scans all mails for viruses more>>
POP3 Virus Scanner Proxy is a full-transparent proxy daemon which scans all mails for viruses using third party scanners (built-in support for AVPD and Trophie).

You have to set up a port redirection in the linux-netfilter (iptables) so that all connections from e.g. inside your office to any POP3 server outside in the world will not leave your router, but come a local port, on which POP3VScan listens. POP3VScan receives from the linux kernel the original destinations of packets (the POP3 server outside in the world) and will connect to them.

All data we receive from the client will be sent to the server, and vice versa. With a little enhancement: we parse the neccessary parts of the POP3 protocol and when an email is sent from the server, we store it into a file, invoke a virusscanner and send it if it is good, or we just replace it with a virus notification. It should be possible to use all scanners using the scannertype=basic. Also POP3VScan provides scannertype=avpd for high-speed scanning using Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Linux, every C programmer can easily adept other scan-daemons (trophie, sophie, antivir, ...).

Neither the client nor the server has to be configured, none of them will take notice that theres a mailscanner (except the client when he gets a virus notification or if he looks into the header, and the server gets our ip as source).

Viralator Proxy Virus Scanner 0.9.7

Viralator Proxy Virus Scanner 0.9.7

Viralator Proxy Virus Scanner is a Perl script that virus scans HTTP/FTP downloads request on a UNIX server. more>>
Viralator is a Perl script that virus scans HTTP/FTP downloads request on a UNIX server after passing through the Squid proxy server.
Even when I implemented virus protection for my network email server we still continued to get the odd virus. Most of the viruses came from people using free webmail accounts like Hotmail or Yahoo and downloading the infected attachments to their machines or through downloading junk.
Rather than block access to the users I decided to look at how we could better protect the network. I looked at a couple of different products both comercial and free but they were either too expensive or did not meet my needs.
That is how Viralator was born. Viralator Proxy Virus Scanner is licenced under the GPL.
Viralator should work in any UNIX system that uses Apache and Squid servers. We have reports about successful instalations on:
- RedHat Linux
- Mandrake Linux
- SuSe Linux
- e-Smith Linux
- Slackware Linux
- Conectiva Linux
- Debian Gnu Linux
Supported Redirectors:
- Squirm
- SquidGuard
- Jesred
Supported Virus Scanners
- AntiVir
- AVP
- RAV
- Inoculate
- Sophos Sweep
- McAfee
- Trend
- Clamav
- Bit Defender (free edition)
The original concept for Viralator came from the Viromat project. Without Viromat the Viralator project would not have had a starting point. We can also thank Ralph Meyer for badgering me into releasing the script under the GPL.
Enhancements:
- Parenthesis are included on the regular expression used to validate URLs.
- The character set checking step, which was not working before last patch released, has been fixed.

Gnome Multimedia Keys is an Amarok script that will allow the use of keyboard multimedia keys in Gnome 2.18 and above (eg. ubuntu feisty) to control playback. This includes most multimedia buttons found on many laptops. Support for this was broken due to changes in the handling of keyboard shortcuts by gnome 2.18.
Currently supported operations are:
- Play/Pause
- Pause
- Stop
- Next Track
- Previous Track
Simply run the script, no configuration of the script itself is required. The desired keyboard shortcuts can be configured by selecting "System-->Prefrences-->Keyboard Shortcuts" from the Gnome panel.

DVB Remote Key Editor 0.2.1

DVB Remote Key Editor 0.2.1

DVB Remote Key Editor project was made in order to have an easy way of modifying the keymaps of DVB-T remotes. more>>
DVB Remote Key Editor project was made in order to have an easy way of modifying the keymaps of DVB-T remotes which are usually hardcoded in the corresponding kernel-modules.

Currently this works for the following models:

Haupauge Win-TV Nova-T USB2 dvb-usb-nova-t-usb2.ko 45
Cinergy T2 cinergyT2.ko 37
AVerMedia AverTV DVB-T dvb-usb-a800.ko 34
Generic dib-usb Driver dvb-usb-dibusb-common.ko 63
WideView/Yakumo/Hama/Typhoon/Yuan DVB-T USB2 dvb-usb-dtt200u.ko 18
TwinhanDTV Alpha/MagicBoxII USB2 dvb-usb-vp7045.ko 32

This will not work if your kernel is enabled to use ksign, which secures kernel-modules against binary modifications.

Usage:

Run as root by executing: gksudo python dvb-remote-key-editor.py

Warning: This application binary patches a kernel module. Therefore be sure to make a backup of the module. THIS SOFTWARE COMES WITH ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY!

Eureka Public Key 1.0.0

Eureka Public Key 1.0.0

Eureka Public Key was created due to numerous requests for a public key application using our strong encryption techniques. more>>
Eureka Public Key was created due to numerous requests for a public key application using our strong encryption techniques. The basic principle for its use is one creates their own public key and distributes the key to whomever they will be transferring encrypted files with.

When one receives a key, they import it into their key database. You can create and import as many keys as you wish. Both public keys are used in the cryption process. You select your particular public key to use and the public key of the person who will receive it.

When a file has been received you put in your public key that matches the one they used and select their public key that was used in the encryption. See the Encryption, Decryption and Import/Export sections for more information on these topics. To create a public key, click on Keys then Create Public Key or click on the gold key icon under the menu items.

All you have to do is define a name for the public key and click on Create. All encrypted files will be written to the Encryptions folder. Likewise, all decrypted files will go to the Decryptions folder. If a file already exists with the same name, it will be overwritten.

Encryption:

To Encrypt a file, click on File then Encrypt.

All you have to do is select Your public key, their public key and click on Encrypt or press enter then select the file you want to process.

The file selected will be encrypted and then placed in your Encryptions folder. Now you can send this file in the manner you prefer.

Note that this application encrypts in a binary format. In other words, it uses the full 256 character set and is not a text file. You will need to send it as an attachment if you are using email to transmit it.

Decryption:

To Decrypt a file, click on File then Decrypt.

All you have to do is select Your public key, their public key then click on Decrypt and select the file you want to process.

The file selected will be decrypted and then placed in your Decryptions folder.

Java Lemonade Stand 1.3

Java Lemonade Stand 1.3

Java Lemonade Stand is a lemonade stand game. more>>
Java Lemonade Stand is a lemonade stand game. To play the game, click on the link below.

You are the sole proprietor of a lemonade stand in your front yard. Your parents were kind enough to knock together a booth and provide some initial capital and supplies.

You have three months to make as much money as possible. Placing money in the bank is a good idea. You earn interest.

The left side of the display contains four tabs (Prepare for Sale, Finances, Inventory, and Advertising) for managing your advertising and assets. The left side displays sales results and weather forecasts. Check the weather forecast then decide how much advertising to purchase, how many cups to make, and how much to charge. Press the Sell Lemonade button to see how you fared.

Prepare for Sale

Here you decide what quality of lemonade mix to use (Generic, Name Brand, or Premium), how many cups of lemonade to prepare, and how much to charge for each cup. Using a higher quality of lemonade will positively impact the price customers will pay and the number of cups they will purchase.

Finances

Your money is divided into working cash and a savings account. Purchases for supplies and advertising are deducted from your working cash. Profits from your lemonade sales will be added to your working cash. You can transfer money between your working cash and savings account. You will receive interest on your savings account at the end of each month. The interest is based on your average daily balance.

Inventory

Your inventory consists of lemonade mix and cups. Buying in larger quantities is more cost-effective. You can only make and sell as much lemonade as you have mix and cups. Lemonade mix comes in different levels of quality: Generic, Name Brand, and Premium. Higher quality lemonade costs more.

Advertising

Advertising helps to bring more customers to your stand. Notice that some types of advertising last multiple days while others only last for a day. Homemade signs last a variable period of time.

Weather

Weather has a significant impact on the number of customers that come to your stand and the amount that they will pay for your lemonade. You will receive a forecast for the next days weather each day. This forecast is somewhat accurate but not 100% reliable. The eight types of weather are listed below.

Sunny and Scorching: Ideal conditions.
Sunny and Hot
Sunny and Warm
Sunny
Party Sunny
Overcast
Rain
Thunderstorms: Worst conditions.

Sales Results

Here you will see the weather for the day, the number of customers who visited your stand, the number of cups you sold, and your gross and net profit. You will also learn about any random events that might impact your business.

GoblinX Mini Edition 2.0.0

GoblinX Mini Edition 2.0.0

GoblinX Mini Edition is a son of GoblinX and contains only XFCE as windows manager and GTK/GTK2 based applications. more>>
GoblinX Mini Edition is a son of GoblinX and contains only XFCE as windows manager and GTK2/GTK based applications.
The edition is indicated for those users whose want to remaster the distro and also those with difficulties to download more than three hundreds of megabytes, original size of GoblinX Main distro.
The GoblinX Mini Edition will have newer versions released faster and it will be used also for tests and for system and hardware support improvements.
The Mini Edition includes GoblinX default modules such as 01.x.base.mo, 02.x.deflibs.mo, 03.x.defX.mo, 04.x.default.mo, modules included also in master edition, and 08.x.mini.mo, which adds more applications to the edition.
The ISO image is about one hundred and fifty megabytes, but the mini edition contains an excellent source of applications and its more easy to download and also to remaster because modules are already prepared to allow a fast rebuild of the ISO file.
The ISO image has less than half size of the original GoblinX.
The edition also is been used for tests and all applications not based on QT libraries will be tested first by the mini edition, and these tests will make more stable the main distro.
Try out the mini edition, make it your small Linux LiveCD and save memory, you can also use a minicd to burn it and some other devices... If you edit or remove some applications, it can fit into a 128MB pen drive...
The Mini Edition will use the same version definition of GoblinX, so the mini edition is starting using 1.2.0 as edition version.
Enhancements:
- GoblinX Mini 2.0.0 is released. The GoblinX Mini Edition is the son of GoblinX and contains only the Xfce windows manager and GTK+-based applications. This release follows Premium 2007.1 edition and starts the second generation of the distribution. All new features and upgrades prepared for the Premium edition are included, including a new functional Magic Center which works with Xfce and all graphical user interfaces.

OpenSSH LDAP Public Key patch 0.3.9

The OpenSSH LDAP Public Key patch provides an easy way of centralizing strong user authentication. more>>
OpenSSH LDAP Public Key patch provides an easy way of centralizing strong user authentication by using an LDAP server for retrieving public keys instead of ~/.ssh/authorized_keys.
It uses the standard core.schema/nis.schema and strongAuthenticationUser object class, which can simplify login centralization but could introduce serious security flaws if the LDAP server is not correctly configured.
Enhancements:
- A memory leak has been fixed.
- A potential LDAP filter injection if a username has strange characters in it [()*] has been fixed.

Sort::Key 1.28

Sort::Key 1.28

Sort::Key is the fastest way to sort anything in Perl. more>>
Sort::Key is the fastest way to sort anything in Perl.

SYNOPSIS

use Sort::Key qw(keysort nkeysort ikeysort);

@by_name = keysort { "$_->{surname} $_->{name}" } @people;

# sorting by a numeric key:
@by_age = nkeysort { $_->{age} } @people;

# sorting by a numeric integer key:
@by_sons = ikeysort { $_->{sons} } @people;

Sort::Key provides a set of functions to sort lists of values by some calculated key value.

It is faster (usually much faster) and uses less memory than other alternatives implemented around perl sort function (ST, GRT, etc.).

Multikey sorting functionality is also provided via the companion modules Sort::Key::Multi, Sort::Key::Maker and Sort::Key::Register.

FUNCTIONS

This module provides a large number of sorting subroutines but they are all variations off the keysort one:

@sorted = keysort { CALC_KEY($_) } @data

that is conceptually equivalent to

@sorted = sort { CALC_KEY($a) cmp CALC_KEY($b) } @data

and where CALC_KEY($_) can be any expresion to extract the key value from $_ (not only a subroutine call).

For instance, some variations are nkeysort that performs a numeric comparison, rkeysort that orders the data in descending order, ikeysort and ukeysort that are optimized versions of nkeysort that can be used when the keys are integers or unsigned integers respectively, etc.

Also, inplace versions of the sorters are provided. For instance

keysort_inplace { CALC_KEY($_) } @data

that is equivalent to

@data = keysort { CALC_KEY($_) } @data

but being (a bit) faster and using less memory.

The full list of subroutines that can be imported from this module follows:

keysort { CALC_KEY } @array

returns the elements on @array sorted by the key calculated applying { CALC_KEY } to them.

Inside { CALC_KEY }, the object is available as $_.

For example:

@a=({name=>john, surname=>smith}, {name=>paul, surname=>belvedere});
@by_name=keysort {$_->{name}} @a;

This function honours the use locale pragma.

nkeysort { CALC_KEY } @array

similar to keysort but compares the keys numerically instead of as strings.

This function honours the use integer pragma, i.e.:

use integer;
my @s=(2.4, 2.0, 1.6, 1.2, 0.8);
my @ns = nkeysort { $_ } @s;
print "@nsn"
prints
0.8 1.6 1.2 2.4 2

rnkeysort { CALC_KEY } @array
works as nkeysort, comparing keys in reverse (or descending) numerical order.
ikeysort { CALC_KEY } @array
works as keysort but compares the keys as integers (32 bits or more, no checking is performed for overflows).
rikeysort { CALC_KEY } @array
works as ikeysort, but in reverse (or descending) order.
ukeysort { CALC_KEY } @array
works as keysort but compares the keys as unsigned integers (32 bits or more).

For instance, it can be used to efficiently sort IP4 addresses:

my @data = qw(1.2.3.4 4.3.2.1 11.1.111.1 222.12.1.34
0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0) 127.0.0.1);

my @sorted = ukeysort {
my @a = split /./;
(((($a[0] name,
$_->middlename },
qw(str str str);

Sort::Key::register_type Color =>
sub { $_->R, $_->G, $_->B },
qw(int int int);

Once a datatype has been registered it can be used in the same way as types supported natively, even for defining new types, i.e.:

Sort::Key::register_type Family =>
sub { $_->man, $_->woman },
qw(Person Person);
