avalon-harvest provides an Avalon-based integration package.
Harvest is a very simple Java-based program to asynchronously copy data from one location to another.
The data can be anything that can be represented as a Java bean, for example, files or database records.
Data can be anything, including files, database records, data available from networks, JMS messages, or whatever you can imagine and represent as java bean.
Main features:
- Assynchronious system integration, where no other solution exists.
- Data replication between databases
- Fetching data from unusable datasources (html pages, documents, other files) into database (or any kind of device capable of storing data)
- Any other scenarios where you may need assynchronious copy of data.

ModVB Alpha

ModVB Alpha

ModVB is a Apache module which aims to provide an ASP/VBScript/JScript compatibility layer for your web-pages. more>>
ModVB is a Apache module which aims to provide an JScript/VBScript/ASP compatibility layer for your web-pages. In other words it allows you to run with none or little modifications your ASP pages on your Linux server running Apache.

A bit of perspective

ModVB is based on the work done by Marco Ridoni (mod_gb) and Michael Meeks, Ravi Pratap and other people on Gnome Basic which was meant to be a VB work-alike for Linux. After the successful launch of Mono, Gnome Basic was officially declared "dead".

A few months later Marco Ridoni decided to start mod_gb, dropping (even if not completely) the support for GUI elements (Forms, Buttons, etc.) and adding external "class libraries" which could be used to expand the language in real ASP-fashion.

The ModVB project was started to improve upon Marco Ridonis work and create a full featured IIS clone with possible JScript support as well as more objects than supported by standard IIS/ASP

Current state

ModVB is currently alpha-quality software, maybe even a step behind that. Its nowhere near ready to be installed and run by the faint-hearted, let alone on a production server. If you decide to download, compile and install it, just dont say we never warned you.

Linux Vacation 1.2.6.1

Linux Vacation 1.2.6.1

Linux vacation is a automatic mail-answering program. more>>
Linux VacationLinux vacation is a automatic mail-answering program. This is my vacation port to Linux. It is derived from the vacation program found on agate.berkeley.edu in the 386bsd directory on Nov 16, 1993. The original program was written by Eric Allman in 1983 and is copyrighted by the Regents of the UCB. The copyright disclaimer is valid for this distribution as well, i.e. this version is provided `as is, and I shall not be liable for any damage, data loss or earthquakes in the bay area.

Version 1.1 was a security-patched version. The former version 1.0 had a bad security bug which Olaf Kirch reported to the CERT mailing list (after giving me a hint :-). Please DO NOT LONGER USE vacation-1.0!

As far as Copyrights are concerned, the original parts of vacation are under the BSD copyright whereas I place my changed under the GPL (see file COPYING in the directory).

I tried to make this port look just like the version found with SunOS 4.1.x. There are minor differences, it resembles more the Sun version than the original 386bsd source.

Unpack the package as follows

mkdir -p /usr/src # if not already present :-)
chdir /usr/src
gzip -dc /vacation-1.1.tgz | tar xpvf -

A simple `make install (install-aout is no longer supported as of version 1.2) should install binary in /usr/bin and the manpages in /usr/man/man*, respectively. If you choose different directories, edit the Makefile.

Excalibur 4.3

Excalibur 4.3

Excalibur is an open source software project of The Apache Software Foundation. more>>
Excalibur is an open source software project of The Apache Software Foundation. Our primary product is a lightweight, embeddable Inversion of Control container named Fortress that is written in java.

Inversion of control, also known as the hollywood principle ("dont call us, well call you"), is a simple but powerful concept. The idea is that we dont "wire up" all the pieces that make up an application (the "components") by writing lots of this-component-uses-that-one-like-so code, nor do we use some kind of lookup directory (like JNDI, for example) where each component decides what components to interact with itself. Instead, we instruct a smart piece of software, the container, to tell the components how to interact.

Fortress (and also its predecessor, "ECM") is such a container. It is lightweight, by which we mean that it doesnt need a lot of resources, take a lot of disk or memory, or impose all sorts of demands on its environment. Fortress is also embeddable, by which we mean that you can use fortress inside just about every java environment. More concretely, you can use it as the basis of a large standalone development platform (like the Keel project), at the core of a servlet-based web application (like Cocoon) or even as the basis of a GUI application (like GuiApp).

Fortress knows how to manage components that have been developed using a rigid lifecycle contract called Avalon-Framework. In the next upcoming release, fortress will also be able to manage ordinary javabeans, and support for other kinds of Inversion of Control are planned.

Besides providing fortress, excalibur also provides a small library of very useful components. We also distribute some of the libraries used to build fortress (and some other containers) seperately. This selection of libraries is called containerkit.

So why is excalibur an interesting project?

Heres a few partial answers.

good code. Code that comes from the mature avalon project (everything that used to be branded as "Avalon Excalibur" and "Avalon Fortress"). This includes two lightweight Inversion of Control containers. One of these powers, among other things, Cocoon. The other ("fortress") is the basis of projects like Keel. Excalibur also includes powerful and mature reusable "components" and "libraries", handling tasks ranging from thread management to component pooling to (URI-and-similar-) source resolving.

smart developers. Most of these people are or have been active in the avalon project in various roles. Several of them are apache members. Together they have loads and loads experience under their belts related to inversion of control development. In fact, Im confident to say this list includes some of the biggest experts on inversion-of-control-style container development.

exciting community. Several open source and commercial projects (both at apache and elsewhere) depend on and contribute to the excalibur project. A strong team of enthousiastic developers (with strong ties to several other projects in the same problem domain) has various big and small plans with excalibur. One of the leading open source organisations in the world, The Apache Software Foundation, is hosting the project, providing insight, advice, infrastructure, legal backing, a time- and battle-proven development process, and much more.

qtpod 1.1

qtpod 1.1

qtpod is a Qt application which can control your Line6 POD 2.0 and POD Pro via MIDI. more>>
qtpod is a Qt application which can control your Line6 POD 2.0 and POD Pro via MIDI. Currently, only the ALSA MIDI sequencer API is supported.
Usage:
To configure your MIDI settings use the "-m" option on the command line to set the MIDI channel your POD listens on. The first MIDI channel is "0". This is also the default if no "-m" option is given and the default MIDI channel of the POD.
To connect the qtpod application to an ALSA sequencer port at startup use the "-c" option with the numeric client and port ID as arguments. You can find out the numeric IDs of your MIDI hardware by looking at the output of aconnect -i -l.
Alternatively you can use aconnect to connect your midi ports after qtpod has started, or some GUI tool like alsa-patch-bay or qjackctl.
Enhancements:
- A scrollview was added as a toplevel widget, so qtpod can be resized.
- Window geometry is restored on startup.

Crimson Fields 0.5.1

Crimson Fields 0.5.1

Crimson Fields is a tactical war game in the tradition of Battle Isle. more>>
Crimson Fields project is a tactical war game in the tradition of Battle Isle.

The outcome of the war lies in your hands. You decide which units are sent to the front lines, and when to unleash the reserves. Your mission objectives range from defending strategically vital locations to simply destroying all enemy forces in the area. Protect supply convoys or raid enemy facilities to uncover technological secrets or fill your storage bays so you can repair damaged units or build new ones in your own factories. Lead your troops to victory!

Tools are available to create custom maps and campaigns. You can also play the original Battle Isle maps if you have a copy of the game.

You can pit yourself against another human player either in hot-seat mode in front of the same machine or via e-mail, or against the computer.

Crimson Fields is distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL). It has been developed and tested on Intel architecture with Linux, but it shouldnt be too hard to make it compile and run on other operating systems as well. So far it has been reported to work with Linux, various flavours of BSD, Sun Solaris, MacOS X, BeOS, and MS Windows.

The Java Apache Mail Enterprise Server (a.k.a. Apache James) is a 100% pure Java SMTP and POP3 Mail server and NNTP News server. It is designed James to be a complete and portable enterprise mail engine solution based on currently available open protocols.
James is also a mail application platform. We have developed a Java API to let you write Java code to process emails that we call the mailet API. A mailet can generate an automatic reply, update a database, prevent spam, build a message archive, or whatever you can imagine. A matcher determines whether your mailet should process an email in the server. The James project hosts the Mailet API, and James provides an implementation of this mail application platform API.
James is based on the Apache Avalon application framework, which was a product of the Apache Avalon project.
James requires Java 1.4 (For further information you may want to search the web, our dev and user mail archives or our wiki).
Main features:
- SMTP server
- Mailet Engine
- FileSystem mailboxes/spool
- RDBMS mailboxes/spool
- POP3 server
- RDBMS

}

SNMP::Info::SONMP is a subclass of SNMP::Info that provides an object oriented interface to the SynOptics Network Management Protocol (SONMP) information through SNMP.

SONMP is a Layer 2 protocol that supplies topology information of devices that also speak SONMP, mostly switches and hubs. SONMP is implemented in SynOptics, Bay, and Nortel Networks devices. SONMP has been rebranded by Bay then Nortel Networks and is know by several different names.

Create or use a device subclass that inherits this class. Do not use directly.
Each device implements a subset of the global and cache entries. Check the return value to see if that data is held by the device.
